About: I’ve been taking care of animals for around 30 years. I have both fostered and owned animals as well as watched other. I have owned my dog since she was a puppy, so I have experience with younger dogs. I have helped family friends with their older dogs who need help moving around and cannot stay home alone. I have also long term fostered a special needs dog. I am an empty nester and when my children moved out they took their pets. I’ll be able to devote my time and attention to your pets as you need me to. During my previous time pet sitting I have stayed at the owner’s home as well as done 2-3 times a day check ins. When doing these I play by house rules. Crating a dog is not a problem as that is what I do with my own. I have pet sat for people who do and do not crate their animals.
“We are so grateful for the incredible care our girl Oakley received from Lauren! She got plenty of walks, lots of time outside in the sunshine, and all the love and attention she could want. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. We would absolutely book Lauren again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a dependable and caring sitter!”

“Rachel was an amazing sitter for our Boxer. She spent lots of time with him at each visit and made sure to give him lolenry of exercise. We were updated at each visit with several photos. Bodie was very well taken , and I would absolutely recommend her services!”

About: Hi there! I’m Tori! I’ve been pet sitting dogs, cats, and small animals since I was young since my parents were allergic and I simply HAD to get my animal fix! I have 3 years of professional pet sitting and admin experience and am now freelancing with Rover. I’d love to connect and see how I can best offer your furry best friend the love they need while you are away. I have professional experience with dog walking, drop in petsitting, and boarding in my home. I can administer medications and have worked with puppies and senior dogs. I do require a meet and greet before services can begin as it’s very important to me that you and your pet can get familiar with me and I them so the first time I enter your home is not the first time we are meeting. Additionally I ask that you do disclose any prior history of aggression for both my safety and the well being of your pet. I am not a trainer nor do I have experience with aggressive animals. I truly believe that our pets are family and I sincerely hope to establish a long lasting relationship with both you and your pet where we become family too! I am available many evenings and weekends as I do work a full time day job outside the home. Looking to take a weekend trip? I’m your gal! I do not have any pets of my own currently which is why I’d love to come hang out with yours! I require a meet and greet ahead of time to ensure everyone is comfortable!

About: I have taken care of puppies, kittens, and senior animals. I know how to train puppies and administer medicine for older pets if needed . I am no longer working full-time. “Vanessa is amazing!!!!! We were gone for 2 weeks my 1 dog got sick, she got him to the vet and took amazing care of him! Vanessa goes above and beyond and truly treats your pets like her own. We will certainly use her again!!!”

About: I have been around animals my entire life and have experience caring for both dogs and cats. Over the years, my family has had five dogs and two cats, and I currently help care for three dogs. Last year, I raised my own Australian Shepherd puppy, which gave me firsthand experience with puppy training, exercise routines, and daily care. In addition to caring for my own pets, I frequently walk a neighbor's dog and regularly pet sit for my parents when they travel. I also have experience assisting with Rover visits, occasionally filling in for my mom when she is unavailable. Through these experiences, I have become comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, and ensuring pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to provide the same level of care and attention that I would want for my own pets. I'm currently home for the summer while attending college, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the day. I do work a few evening shifts at a local restaurant, but they're typically only about five hours long, and I'm home by 9:30 PM at the latest. This gives me lots of time to provide attentive care, visits, walks, playtime, and updates. I'm committed to making sure every pet gets the attention and care they deserve! Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, feeding schedule, and any special instructions so they can stick to what's familiar. During every visit, I'll make sure they have fresh food and water, a clean litter box, plenty of playtime or affection (if they want it!), and I'll always double-check that doors, gates, and windows are secure before I leave. I also love sending photo updates so you can feel confident knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away.
“Kelly goes above and beyond for our dogs and we're so glad to have found her! We hate traveling without our senior dogs but when we must, it's a relief to know they're in good hands. Kelly is attentive, communicative, and spends time making sure walks are long enough, meds are swallowed, and bellies are full. One of our dogs had some accidents and Kelly cleaned up thoroughly even though I said not to worry too much about it. When they ran out of carrots, she brought more! We were amazed. Best sitter around.”

“Caitlyn was great and we felt very relaxed on our trip knowing she was taking care of them. She was great at communicating and letting us know how the dogs were doing and was always there for the times we discussed. Definitely recommend Caitlyn for your fur babies!”

“Valari was absolutely fantastic this week! She stayed in constant communication with me, and handled my pup with the best care. I highly recommend her services!”

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have experience with dogs, cats, and small animals, and spent four years working as a Veterinary Assistant in Wilmington and Chapel Hill. I treat every pet as if they were my own, offering patience, safety, and lots of love. My goal is to make sure your pet feels comfortable, cared for, and deeply loved while you’re away. I currently work from home running a small business. I do not work every day. I am flexible and available to help you out when needed. I have a Labrador Retriever and two senior, friendly domestic shorthair cats of my own. While you’re away, I care for your pets as if they were my own. I follow your instructions closely, keep routines consistent, and take time to understand each animal’s personality and needs. I like to keep a log for you on how they did and how things went for our time together. We have a nice sized home to accommodate your furry friend. Pets are allowed upstairs. We are happy to have your baby sleep on his or her bed in our room at night, or a crate if that’s what they are used to. Please supply your pet’s favorite bed or crate. Pets are allowed on the couch. We have a large, fenced back yard for those pups that like to sunbathe or sniff around during the day! I focus on calm, gentle care, plenty of affection (when welcomed), and making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m attentive to behavior, appetite, and overall well-being, and I communicate regularly so you have peace of mind. I have experience with senior dogs and cats, puppies and kittens and special needs pets through vet time experience and personal experience.
“We loved have Kaitlyn check in on our cat while we were away. Always made sure to give him love with pats or treats depending on if he wanted to come out from hiding when she stopped by. We’ll definitely use her again in the future!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Wilbon
Lauren was the perfect sitter/caretaker while we attended two destination weddings. She was available to meet in person to go over care details for our kitty and always showed up for the designated care schedule on time. She gave detailed updates every day and this helped ensure our kitty got the check-ins and new food she needed. Lauren gave us peace of mind and we knew our kitty was on the best of hands! We will definitely rebook with Lauren for future care!

My wife and I were amazed of the quality care John gave our cat Buki. I believe she was definitely given a very posh time in those short three days, and would truly recommend his drop ins again for she was very delighted that he spent that time with her. John was punctually on time, professional and caring of our fur baby. He left our place clean and spotless as well. A true gentleman indeed!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wilbon. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
