About: As someone who owns 2 cats and has grown up around 3 dogs, I understand that every pet has a unique personality and certain needs. Whether they are looking to play, go on an adventure, chill out and watch the birds, or meet new friends, I make sure theirs and your needs are met! Experience leash walking, putting on harnesses, dosage-measuring and medication administering, and long-term care. I am currently performing cat sitting full-time, so my schedule is perfect for all types of pet care — no matter the distance! I have helped clients all around the entire DMV from Rockville, Downtown DC, Arlington, Reston and College Park. Morning, day, or night visits are no issue. I stick to the areas that you let me know is ok to access. I stay mindful and respectful of your home while focusing on your pet! I balance out the time for play and completing tasks, such as changing food/water.
“Gio was an excellent dog walker. She helped me when my current dog walker could not continue walking buddy. She reported all the details of the visit efficiently and gave us peace of mind. She was informative and responsible. This was my first time using rover and I had a great experience thanks to Gio. She has a true love for dogs and what she does. I will definitely work with her in the future.”

“Amazing service! Marina was available very last minute when I was in a pinch. She responded quickly and made my initially shy pup comfortable upon first meeting. She was super sweet and had great follow up. Will definitely use again.”

“Jonathan was great with our recently adopted dog that gave him a hard time. He was calm, patient and adapted to the situation as needed, communicating well along the way.”

“Melika is very communicative and does a fantastic job. I’m very pleased with the work she does and the loving way she cares for Loki. I hope I get to use her services frequently.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 13 years old and is something I love. Dogs make me happy so I make them happy. I currently have a remote job so I’m always home and can put all my attention to the pet. I am able to work and still keep an eye on the pet. I would feed the pet 2-3 times a day. Walk them a few times a day. Pet them. Bring them to dog parks or regular big parks.
“Highly recommend Joseph and his family to watch your dogs. I needed someone to come to my home and walk both of my dogs six days a week, for the past four weeks. Extremely reliable, trustworthy, and my dogs loved him and his family. I received daily updates and pictures. I will definitely be using him for future boarding needs and services.”

“Joe took great care of our Lola girl. We have a boxer puppy with a lot of energy and Joe was able to handle her well. They got along the first time they met and from the photos he sent during their walks, it looked like they both enjoyed each others company. We’re grateful for Joe’s patience with Lola and will be booking him again. Thank you Joe!”

“Hailey did a great job and was wonderful to work with! She was super helpful in coordinating the right kind of walk/drop in visit that we needed. She asked lots of questions during our meet and greet and was very patient when we were running late. Ella had a great time and and Hailey made sure to send lots of pictures and communicate during the visit as well! Would definitely recommend and use her again!!”

About: I am an avid dog lover. I take care of dogs in my neighborhood - from Chihuahua size to 100 pounds or more. We enjoy long walks and meeting new pup friends! I even include baths if necessary. For some reason, my account won’t let me remove House Sitting - I have a dog of my own. Unless our dogs are introduced and get along, I cannot do overnights. However, I can do multiple let outs - including late at night and early in the morning. Cats are also lovely creatures and although they may not need walking, they get their share of love, too! All pets welcome with me! I have reliable transportation. I’m 31 years old with a college degree and a full time job. I don’t smoke and can walk more than one dog at a time. I can promise that your animals and I will get along great! Please contact me if you have any further questions! I am always available. Thank you! I work full time in the southern Maryland area, however I have break times and morning/evening availability! I’m not opposed to travel and multiple let outs. I can care for your pets at your home or mine! I do not have a fenced backyard, but I do multiple walks every single day.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - White Oak
We went on vacation for a week and were so happy to find Jonathan. He was very responsive and made sure our dog was well taken care of. He sent us photos and videos of her walks and the time he spent with her. This helped to assure us that she wasn’t lonely while we were gone. He was also extremely flexible and we were able to add on services at the last minute. Thanks so much! We would definitely book with Jonathan in the future.

This was our first time having someone take Penny for her walks and Marina made it easy for us to feel comfortable about it! She was professional and Penny loved her! And we loved getting the Rover cards and pictures. Highly recommend Marina to care for your pets!!!
Carmen was great. She was able to accommodate a last minute booking and pivot when needed. We agreed on walks so to ensure her current guest dog’s needs were also met. I really appreciate her promptness and how well she took care of Oreo! Will use her again and recommend to others. Thanks Carmen!

Molly is very responsible and caring and easy to work with. She took the time to get to know our dogs, showed up on time for every scheduled walk, and provided a thorough report about their outings. I love working with Molly and the dogs really feel safe with her. I highly recommend her!

Zaena was professional, timely and easy to work with! She is very quick to respond and was able to do a meet and greet same day. She took the time to make our dog Guinness comfortable before the first walk, took lots of pictures and had great communication updates for me. She even went out in the rain and made sure Guinness had his raincoat on. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
