About: I am a lifelong pet owner and animal lover with over 25 years of caregiving experience. I have had dogs almost continuously since kindergarten ranging in size from a 5 lb poodle mix (Trooper) to a 95 lb yellow lab (Nala), in addition to 3 years as a parent to 2 cats, Jules and Gemini. Jules was with us only briefly due to her advanced age when she was adopted, while Gemini is a much younger kitten who wasted no time claiming my home as her own. I also recently lost my 10 year old corgi (Sadie) unexpectedly to an extremely aggressive form of cancer, and so would love the opportunity to spend some therapeutic time with your furry kid. Prior to beginning work through Rover, I have several years of experience caring for cats and dogs for a variety of friends, family, and neighbors including everything from drop-in visits and dog walking to full-time house/petsitting. Outside of my petsitting duties, I am a PhD chemist working hard to make the battery in your phone last longer and your electric car drive further. My wife and I moved to the Silver Spring area in 2024 for her job as a television producer and I am in the process of establishing myself in the DMV research community. Availability: Except in special cases, I am available for booking at any time of day, any day of the week. I am happy to provide everything from drop-in visits to extended overnight stays. I am currently working part-time from home, so I am excited to have the opportunity to care for your pets at any time! This can include drop-in visits to your home, overnight stays with your fur baby, and day-care or boarding at my home (as long as they're friendly with my cat Gemini). I am glad to visit your home as frequently as you prefer. All visits will include checks for water quantity and freshness, any prescribed food refills or walks, and of course play time. I'm also happy to provide overnight care for your pets and home if preferred, please send me a message if you are interested in more long-term visits. I'm also very happy to host your pets in my own home! I have plenty of room for cats and dogs up to 50-70 lbs. Both my wife and I have had pets our entire lives and between the two of us, someone is nearly always home to supervise and provide any needed care. Since I live in an apartment complex, I do not have a private yard but do have plenty of communal space for walks and other outdoor activity.

“Cindy was great! She was very punctual, communicative, and caring with my dog when she took him for a walk. She also sent me many pictures from the walk. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Sydni is amazing with my dog and cat. My dog has a habit of hiding under the couch despite the meet and greet. She loved Sydni. Anytime one of my pets had an accident, she went above and beyond to clean it up. Great with communication!!! I.”

About: Hi! I’ve loved animals my whole life—I was always the one begging my parents to take in every stray I found 🐾 I’m currently a nursing student, so I’m very detail-oriented, responsible, and focused on safety. I also have a prior military background, which has taught me discipline, reliability, and consistency in everything I do. I’m very active and love running, so I’m great for high-energy dogs who need walks and exercise, while also being calm and patient with cats and more relaxed pets. I’m comfortable following routines, giving lots of attention, and keeping you updated with pictures so you always know your pet is happy and safe. My schedule varies with school during the week, but I’m available outside of those days, along with mornings, evenings, and most weekends. I also have occasional required skills hours, but I’m flexible and happy to accommodate your pet’s needs 🐾 During visits, I make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, and care based on their personality—whether that’s going for a walk, playing, or just keeping them company. I always prioritize safety by ensuring secure leashing, clean water, and a safe environment before leaving. I also provide regular updates with pictures so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away 🥰
About: I have been taking care of my family friends' pets since I was 10. One of those family friends had a chicken, two cats, 1 dog, 2 bearded dragons, hamsters, fish, and a turtle (not to mention a garden to tend to!) all in one go, and I was the one that was called to take care of them all when the family was out of town. I also cared for a 17 year old cat, making sure to give her the medication she needed in a timely manner. I helped my friend care for and train their puppy when it was 10 weeks old, which included socializing it in a variety of situations. Most recently, I took care of my friends axolotl, which had its own specific needs. These experiences have definitely taught me the joys and responsibilities of caring for a pet. Any pet care would easily fit into my everyday schedule. I am currently not working so I am quite flexible every day of the week. I already go on walks at least twice a day, which could easily include a dog by my side! There are trails by my house that I typically love to go to, and beaches where I am a regular. We are a very pet friendly household. I have an entire empty bedroom for a dog to play in or to put their kennel, if they are kennel trained. We do not mind having dogs on the couches in the living room and porch. I spend a lot of time in common spaces already and so much of my time would be spent with the pet, either playing with them, or in their company if I'm working on things on the computer.
“So thankful for the help! They were all great pics, and you were extremely punctual. I also really appreciated you stoping by for a meet and greet in such short notice prior to us leaving town. Thanks again for everything!”

“Oliver is the best—a responsible animal-lover who walked our corgi for two weeks while I was out of the country. Oliver sent photos and videos, and kept in touch via text message. We will be using Oliver’s services again soon. Highly recommend! Thanks, Oliver!”

About: I’ve always grown up with pets whether it be dogs, cats, birds, fish, lizards, guinea pigs or ferrets. In my heart I’ve always had a love for all animals and believe they all have their own personalities and deserve to be seen and loved. My dog passed away 2 summers ago at the age of 13 and we’ve gotten a cat since. I honestly do miss being able to go with my dog and take her on some peaceful calming walks; it was always a great way to connect with her and disconnect from reality. I currently work a part time job usually in afternoons. My work schedule is pretty flexible so please contact me with any questions! I am not currently in school yet so I have plenty of free time to take care of your pets! <3 I currently am only offering dog walking and pet setting in the clients home. I understand that for you to allow me into your home or around your beloved pets you would need to trust me. I am very open to any requests you may ask of me regarding your pet and I also promise to be very respectful of your home and wishes.
“Amanda was great! We have a small, super friendly but high energy dog that will not sleep through the night unless she’s had enough exercise. Inanna slept through the night after just one 30 minute walk with Amanda. Will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“Cheryl is THE best! There is a reason why she has so many phenomenal reviews. She is kind, compassionate, loves dogs, is honest, responsible, and simply what we needed. She cares for the pups like they are her own and goes above and beyond. She communicates for each walk with photos and updates. I cannot speak highly enough! THANK YOU, Cheryl. We love you!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats of all kinds since I was 14, so I’m familiar with a wide range of personalities, routines, and care needs. I’m patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, whether that means helping a shy pet feel at ease, giving an energetic dog the care they need, or keeping a cat calm and content. I always do my best to follow each pet’s usual routine closely so they feel safe and cared for. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to consistently incorporate pet care into my daily and weekly routine. I prioritize maintaining regular feeding times, walks, and attentive companionship to ensure pets feel comfortable and well cared for. My availability also allows for me to adapt to each pet’s specific needs, whether that means additional walks or spending extra time with them throughout the day. I care for pets in my client’s home by following their regular routine as closely as possible. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, have fresh water, get walks or potty breaks as needed, and receive plenty of attention and companionship. I also follow any specific instructions carefully to help keep pets comfortable and at ease while their owner is away.

Zaena was professional, timely and easy to work with! She is very quick to respond and was able to do a meet and greet same day. She took the time to make our dog Guinness comfortable before the first walk, took lots of pictures and had great communication updates for me. She even went out in the rain and made sure Guinness had his raincoat on. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Liza is amazing and understands difficult dog behavior. We have an anxious dog who usually takes a while to warm up to new people which makes finding a dog sitter more challenging. Liza was patient with our dog and got him to more or less accept her on the first visit. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.
