“I don't even know where to begin... Having just moved back to the Pgh area, I wasn't sure who to trust in taking care of my pup. Dmitra has provided me with the reassurance that she will take great care of Luna and give her lots of love when I am not around. Not only was she highly recommended but we are so happy to call her our friend!!!”

“I’m writing this review as a very thankful pup owner. I have a 9yo dog who just wasn’t feeling well so I decided to book Brittani very last minute since I had to work a 12 hour shift. My dog decompensated pretty quickly throughout the day and Brittani acted urgently, responsibly, and like anyone who really loves all dogs would. He’s okay and I am beyond thankful for Brittani’s dedication to making sure he got the treatment needed.”

“Alex was great! I introduced him to both of my dogs, and I think they senses his calm, chill vibe and were into it. I am planning to reach back out to him in the coming weeks for walking and house sitting.”

“Ann has been walking Hank for the past month. She has been so dependable and conscientious. Hank is sweet but he can be obstinate about walking. Ann has gone above and beyond to work with him and help him trust her. Hank loves her!”

“Ashley is absolutely incredible! She brings her own poop bags and treats and is very attentive to Finn’s needs. She sends me picture and video updates which soothes my separation anxiety! I am going to continue to use her services, as Finn already is attached to her.”

“Dear Erin, Thank you so much for taking such excellent care of Knox!!! We really appreciated your careful attention to Knox’s needs as well as all of your updates/pics, including if you were in traffic/running late. We look forward to using you in the future!!! Thanks, Erica & David”

About: I am an experienced petsitter who has worked in a professional, insured capacity (for Heavy Petting Petsitting) for over a decade. I also have experience working as an Adoptions Counselor at the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, where I was trained in the “Fear Free”, positive reinforcement-focused method of animal training and handling. I have an extensive understanding of both canine and feline body language and behavior, and have worked with dogs and cats of all breeds and personality types! I am currently in a remote Master’s program which allows me to arrange my schedule as is convenient to my clients. I do all of my course work from home! I have a household of a dog (cattle dog mix) and two kitties who are all very animal friendly! However, if your fur baby is not a fan of other animals, I am happy to stay at your home and follow your preferences as far as house conduct goes.

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals — starting with playful puppies and large-breed dogs. As a lifelong pet owner myself, I understand the deep bond between pets and their families. I've raised both big and small dogs and supported friends, neighbors, and clients by providing loving, reliable care for their animals when they couldn’t be there. I’m also comfortable and experienced around children and elderly individuals, which allows me to provide a calm, respectful, and compassionate presence in any home. My goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel at ease, knowing they're in capable and caring hands. I’m available to care for your pets during regular workday hours, with occasional evening and weekend availability as well. Whether you need a midday check-in, a weekday companion, or occasional support outside the 9–5, I’m here to help keep your pets happy and comfortable while you're away. I understand how important your pet’s safety is, especially when someone else is entering your home. That’s why I take extra care during every visit — making sure doors and gates are securely closed, checking surroundings before entering or exiting, and always keeping your pet's safety and comfort as my top priority. I know how stressful it can be to trust someone with your space and your pet, and I treat both with the respect, attention, and care they deserve.

About: Hi! We're Nikki and Stefano. We've both had dogs in our homes as long as we can remember and won't ever have it any other way. We've had dogs ranging from toy chihuahuas to heelers to our current pups, a Great Pyreneese/lab and an Australian Shephard/Red Heeler. So any dog size or breed is fine with us. We love spending time with animals and we would love to get a chance to meet new dog friends and give them the same love and attention we give to our own pups while also meeting and learning more about each different breed and their personalities. My wife works from home and i work in the office 3 days out of the week, so we are 100% flexible with our days to watch, walk, or play with your pups. I work in the office Tuesdays through Thursdays. My wife works from home and is available to watch and play with the pups all day. We have a good sized fenced back yard that our two dogs love to run around in so your dogs will have plenty of time to hang out and play outside or relax and take naps inside.

About: Hey there! I have many years of experience caring for dogs and am a dog-lover at heart. As a kid, my family owned a German Shorthaired Pointer named Emmitt (My brother was an Emmitt Smith fan. Please don't hold that against me! lol). I was responsible for feeding, walking, bathing, cleaning up after, and most importantly, loving Emmitt ☺️. Over the years, I've dog-sat for many friends, family members, co-workers, etc. and am a very reliable and trustworthy care-taker. As a teacher, I have summers off, so my schedule is very flexible during the summer months. During the school year, I am only available on weekends and potentially during holiday breaks. I am very detail-oriented and will follow whatever instructions are left for me so that your pet is cared for exactly the way you envision. I am happy to send messages, photos, etc. to provide updates about your pet. I look forward to meeting your furry friend!

About: I’ve always loved dogs and finally got the chance to adopt my own 3 years ago. I love my little girl Nellie with all my heart and I’m happy to share the love with your beloved pups by taking care of them too! I work part time so I’m available with some flexibility 3+ full days a week, as well as some hours on work days before or after my shift. I also work close to home and can come home for lunch breaks in the middle of shifts if needed. I have a fenced yard and one friendly dog who may or may not want to be friends with yours, but she’s non-aggressive either way.

“Melanie was amazing with our dog Sugar. From her first greeting with Sugar until the last day of her stay, Melanie made Sugar feel like a special dog, playing with her and petting her before and after her walk. She also gave Sugar fresh water after each walk. One of the best things Melanie did was take cute pictures of Sugar during her walk and she uploaded them to the Rover app, so we were able to see Sugar in the wild each day. This was great. I give Melanie the strongest recommendation for anyone looking for incredible care for their dog. She is a star!”

About: I am a college student looking for experience and to help out in any way I can. As a petsitter, I enjoy sharing my love of the outdoors and playtime with animals. I also enjoy watching them grow and learn during life in general. I've been pet sitting since I was 13 years old, raised around five family cats, but I have five years of professional experience with working with different families locally. With being CPR certified and vaccinated against Covid-19, animal safety is important to me, especially during these times. With that being said, I’m really looking forward to meeting you and helping to create memorable experiences for everyone! I am currently working part-time as a nurse's aid, so I have lots of free time to help out in anyway I can. I like to think of pet sitting as a form of therapy and processing for me. It is a job that I can enjoy and keep busy at the same time. Depending on the job, I can say that I have mostly my weekdays (especially mornings/afternoons) available for the most part but I have a very flexible schedule, so I can work around your their needs. When a client books me, I usually do my research about the neighborhood to see if there's any parks or fields available. Walking and spending time outdoors is my favorite thing to do, so I make sure there's always somewhere to play and get your steps in.

About: I have always had animals and pets around me and never hesitated to take care of others pets when needed. Grew up with three labradors, a cat, and a bird. I currently have my own cat with my partner! I am currently working full-time remote. I can be flexible on the location I work from depending on my meeting load on any given day. I can be more flexible after 5pm for other activities. Usually, my Sundays are busy with church and meal-prepping/running errands. I do not offer service in my home. However, I will treat your home with the most safety and respect to you and your pets environment as though it were my own.

About: When I was 13 years old I house sat for my first dog ever- Harley. Ever since Harley I have been dog sitting, and walking for over 10 years. When I bought my own home 5 years ago we began boarding dogs because as a pet owner I know how much better I feel when my animals are with someone I can trust. I promise to be that person for you! I am a Registered Nurse by trade, however, I do work from home so those pups of yours will be loved all day long. I am comfortable with puppies, energetic dogs, senior dogs, medication that needs given, dogs who have medical issues and much more. Please feel free to reach out! I would love to give your dog a home away from home ❤️ I work from home so I am home all day with them. If I do go out it is no more than 4 hours at a time and if I am boarding/pet sitting I would not leave for longer than 4 hours a day. I have 3 of my own dogs. 2 are less than 10lbs and the other one absolutely LOVES puppies/new energetic friends. We have a fenced in yard, a nice dog-friendly neighborhood to walk animals in, lots of couch space to snuggle up with every one, and lots and lots of play time!

Justin B.
“Justin has always taken very good of our dog. He would play catch with her in the back yard and lay down with her to pet her giving her a lot of attention. In addition, he would make sure she was fed and help with her baths. Justin was also the one who picked her out of the litter.”

Emma M.
“Emma has walked my dog in the past (for about a week) and has done a wonderful job. My dog is very energetic and excitable, but she was able to take him on long walks that left him tired and happy. She was always sure to bring bags and water on her walks and was always timely; I never had a single issue. Her love for dogs is obvious and had I not moved, I would ask her to take my dog on walks indefinitely. Highly recommend!”

Sarah V.Star Sitter

“Sarah did a great job with our big dog. She was consistent and communicative. We felt secure knowing that our loved pet was in great hands.”

Marisa M.

“Marisa is lovely! She is communicative and kind. She takes such care with my dog. I’m so grateful I found her!”

Megan B.
“From the moment I interacted with Megan I knew that she was without a doubt a loving caring person. She watched my little poodle mix rescue for a week at her house. My Hachi and her little dog quickly became the best of friends. Megan sent me at least one picture a day and checked in on how Hachi was doing. She is so responsive and always let me know she was there for our dog. You will not regret having her watch your dog. In fact she will have Hachi once again in two weeks and I have no hesitation in taking my trip and being assured that my dog Is being loved”
West Homestead dog parents share their Rover experiences
Tomorrow is the third birthday of my two Maltese - Shih Tsu mix dogs, and Heather has been walking them ever since they came into my life at 4 months of age. They LOVE her and she treats them as her own. She is very trustworthy and even though it means she might not be available when I call, I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who asks!!

Rachel is the most pleasant and loving dogs ever . She understands dogs behavior and needs, she approached our dog with gentleness and let her get to know her slowly and then off they walked to gether. I am looking forward to have her coming for my dog as much as she can.
