“Maria is wonderful! Shadow loves her. We feel confident that Shadow is well cared for when she overnights at Maria’s. I also appreciate her sending me photos of Shadow during her stay. I highly recommend Maria! 😊”

“We are so grateful that Cali received such excellent care while we were away! It was my first time boarding a dog with someone other than family- Maria and Tony answered all my questions before Cali's stay and made me feel at ease while we traveled by sharing photos and updates.”

“Valerie is a TOP LEVEL pet sitter!!!! She far exceeds my expectations and I am thrilled that she is my regular sitter as I travel extensively for work. She is flexible with last minute bookings, drop off and pick up changes. She takes remarkable care of my senior dog with medical needs and provides enrichment activities for him. Frequent walks, snuggles, trips to the store for treats and car rides are his favorites with Valerie. My sweet Hershey looks happy in his frequent photos! I love the frequent updates and excellent communication about how he is doing. Valerie has a passion for animals and truly enjoys what she does!!!! A++++++++++++”
“Tyler was great with my dog Riley! She immediately took to his house and yard, as well as Tyler himself. He was flexible in terms of scheduling a meet-and-greet that was kinda last minute and was professional. He also provided plenty of photo updates of Riley throughout the stay. Overall, I would definitely use Tyler again for dog sitting.”

“Gary is super, he has watched our dogs a couple times for us and is always very reliable and accommodating and our dogs always enjoy going there and love his big fenced in backyard. We recommend Gary as a sitter.”

“We had a long vacation week and Vivian and her family took excellent care of our Cash. He came home a better pup than when he left. His potty training is much better and he was very happy the whole time he spent with her and family. I will keep her as a number one pick because I know she cares and will make sure my little buddy is safe and well taken care of. Thanks you so much Vivian.”

“Super communicative and sent lots of photos and videos! Our dog had such a good time at Tia’s place playing in her backyard and getting lots of snuggles. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Amy does a great job. I have small dogs and she arranged an area for them with their own couch so they could be up higher and fenced off from the bigger dogs until all had a chance to adjust to each other. She was terrific at sending pics and texts with updates. ‘”
“Lindsay took wonderful care of Loki while we were away. She sent daily pictures and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear Loki was happy and well loved. He enjoyed daily walks, plenty of bed cuddles, and all the attention he could ask for. We highly recommend Lindsay and would absolutely book with her again.”

“We had great experience with Jena and Nick. Dexter received lots of love, personal attention, playtime, daily walks. Their pet Sebastian was a very nice dog and became great buddy of Dexter in a short time. They have a very nice and clean fenced backyard too. Dexter really enjoyed his time with Jena, Nick and Sebastian… We really appreciate their effort in making sure Dexter felt it at home…Thank you Jane, Nick and Sebastian for being so lovely to Dexter.”

“I’ve used rover a lot over the years and this was the best experience I’ve had here with Mary. From the first meeting I felt comfortable knowing my dog was in good hands. Anyone who knows dogs knows a tired dog is a good dog and as soon as Mary told me that her first order of business each day was to take her on a long walk I knew my dog would have a good stay. She sent pics and kept her engaged. Next time I need to board my dog I’ll be boarding with Mary 100%”

“Jordyn was awesome with my girl! Great communication and sent me pics to keep me updates which I loved. :) Would definitely leave Merle with Jordyn again in the future.”

“Loved that Melissa sent updates and pics everyday. Helped me to feel confident that he was receiving excellent care. He seemed like he enjoyed his "vacation" with his pals. Will definitely use her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Homestead
Keiton was fantastic! We were a little worried about taking our kitties to a stranger’s house because this was the first time using the app. Our worries ended as soon as we dropped them off and met Keiton. His porch setup with two individual rooms with little doors leading to the divided screened in porch were nice for the cats. He sent pictures and videos daily which helped us know our boys were in good hands. Keiton also carried our cat carriers down to his house and back to our car when we picked them up. We even stayed an additional day and he had no problems keeping them an extra day and helping us change everything in the app. I highly recommend Keiton! If you look through our pictures, you can see Keiton giving our cat Max belly rubs, which is something he doesn’t let just anyone do. I think our kitties had a better vacation than we did, and didn’t want to leave the screened in porch. We will definitely be bringing them back if we ever need a sitter. Thanks Keiton!

This was my first time using Rover after recently adopting my dog, Brick and it was such a great experience. Ellyn took great care of Brick during his 8-night stay while I was on vacation. She sent me daily updates with photos which made me feel at ease. When I picked Brick up, it was obvious he had been loved and well cared for during his stay. He came home happy and relaxed. I truly appreciated the attention and care Ellyn and her family gave him, and I never had to worry while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Ellyn to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter, and I will definitely be booking with her again in the future!

Jesaun was so extremely friendly and flexible with us. We ended up needing extremely last minute care for our dog and he was able to help us out and even went out of his way to pick her up for us. He was great at taking care of our dog, sent pictures and updates, and made sure she got lots of exercise. I would definitely recommend him.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
