“Andi can usually come up pretty anxious after she's been boarded or in someone else's home for a while. She was so relaxed, I'm not sure she wanted to leave! Elison, Lisa, and their family were so great.”

“All went great Bella was a happy girl! She is going back in a couple of days for a longer visit. I am not worried in the least with having to leave her, knowing she will be well taken care of!”

“Although this is the first Taylor’s sitting Kiki, I can tell Kiki was happy and comfortable at Taylor’s house and played along with Taylor’s dog, a golden retriever. Taylor’s daily photo and sms update of Kiki’s activities gave my wife and me a peace of mind. We are happy and thankful for Taylor’s care of Kiki. We will definitely ask Taylor for help again when needed.”

“Jackie was amazing! My husband and I were actually getting married the week while Jackie was watching both of our pups! Let’s just say she was so phenomenal that our dogs were the one thing neither of us had to worry about! They were happy, healthy, and had plenty of exercise! Thank you again!”

About: Is your dog giving you the ultimate guilt trip as you grab your keys to leave? You know, the one that says, How dare you leave without me? I get it. I’ve grown up with and cared for dogs my whole life! From German Shepards to Chihuahuas they’re all special in their own way and your pups deserve to be cared for just as well when they’re with me as they are with you! So don’t worry, I’ve got this. While you’re out living your best life and working hard, me and your four-legged family member will be throwing our own little party. Walks, belly rubs, zoomies, you name it. Need support? Send me a message. Your pup and I have plans! I’m currently home full time during the week, so I have plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-ins, daycare, and boarding. My schedule can vary with appointments and commitments, but I’m usually able to make things work, especially when we plan ahead! Safety and trust are very important to me and I want to ensure you feel just as comfortable as your pet does while we hang out together! I’m willing to work with your and your pet’s needs.

“Amber was an amazing sitter for my Sam. Right off the bat I could tell she loves animals, and her dog Hank was the sweetest boy. I received so many pictures of them playing, snuggling and enjoying life. I love that my dog was allowed everywhere hers was (furniture, etc.) She took them to the dog park and on walks frequently. Her condo is in a safe neighborhood and is secure. Amber is very personable and I am thankful I found such a great person to watch Sam while I am away. I will definitely be using her often! Highly recommend her services. Thanks Amber and Hank!”
“Very pleased with Alex watching my best friend for 2 nights. He immediately put me at ease when I dropped off my pup and I had no worries after that. Gracie was safe and happy. When I get back to Sanford, I will definitely look to board with Alex again. I highly recommend Alex to care for your "rover". Thank You Alex!”

“Debra was amazing. We got regular updates and pictures, and clearly our dog was extremely well cared for. Also, her poodle Angel is a dear, and extremely tolerant of other dogs! We definitely won’t hesitate to ask for her services in the future!”

“Camille was absolutely amazing! So much so my dog wasn’t ready to come home lol. She was extremely accommodating, responsive and kind. I truly know she made my dog feel home away from home and we are so grateful she was available and will book again and again!”
About: Like everyone else on this app, I love dogs, and grew up with German Shepherds However, I started on the rover app because I wanted to provide something I thought was missing… reliable pet care for high energy and athletic dogs. I travel a lot and the last thing I want to worry about is if my 70 pound GSD is wearing out the kind old lady I left her with because that’s who was available. Rest assured, if you leave your dog with me for work or for play, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. Need daily runs or multiple walks a day? Good. We run every day. Need yard play time? Not a problem. Extra belly rubs? Easy. Is your Dog a couch potato? I have a couch and have happy to give rubs and chill out. The point is, weather for a week or a weekend, if you leave your dog with me, you can focus on where ever your travels are taking you. I have a pretty demanding full time job. I’m only available for boarding in my home. If I’m home, your dog has 100% of my focus. I have a very well trained and very social GSD and a large fenced in yard. I also have rooms I can fence off to give your dog some space. I’m happy to play fetch, take multiple walks, and daily runs if needed.
“Jayda was amazing with my dog and kept me updated daily with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. I could tell my pup was well cared for and happy. Highly recommend!”

About: Hey! I’m Sarah. I love animals of all kinds and cannot wait to spend time with your fur babies! I have a Great Dane pup of my own who is very dog friendly with dogs of all kinds. I also have a large home and large fenced in back yard for your doggos to run and play. I have a lot of experience caring for senior dogs and XL dog breeds. I’ve grown up around Great Danes and currently have my own pup. I live an active lifestyle so I will always have something fun for your dog to do while they stay in my home. I can accommodate for multiple dogs at one time as long as they are dog friendly. I have no breed preferences. I currently work 8-3 and have plenty of time to spend with your pup! Sitting includes 1-2 walks a day unless otherwise specified. Dogs in my home are treated like family and are allowed on all furniture and beds. I have a fenced in yard and live in a neighborhood with lots of friendly pups to play with if your pet is open to play time!
“We love Hannah and her pup Walter! She is great with communication and send us lots of picture of the dogs playing. We know our dog is well loved when he leaves home to head to her house!”

“Jackie was so amazing!! She sent so many photos of our pups and even brushed them, gave them a bath and sent them home with some treats and bandanas. She was very communicative and flexible when our travel plans changed. We will 100% be booking with her again!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
