“I truly cannot put into words how amazing Evie and Fritz are as dog sitters. My dog, Bean, absolutely adores them, which was very evident from all the photos they sent of her cuddling with them and playing with them and the other pups at their house. I’m so happy I found them and will be bringing Bean here any time I need a sitter. Thank you, Evie and Fritz!!”

“Angela (and her own little dog and young son) provided a wonderful week for my old, anxious little dog. She kept me posted with her photos and comments - Sandy clearly felt at home and very secure. I will definitely be booking with her whenever we need boarding or day care for Sandy!”

“Very accommodating and understanding with travel delays. Dogs looked healthy and happy. Best part was she provided a complementary dog wash for the boys . Definitely recommend.”

“Elizabeth took wonderful care of our dog while we were away. She kept us updated with daily photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear she genuinely cared about him and paid close attention to his needs. Our dog has separation anxiety, and Elizabeth was incredibly patient and compassionate. She made sure he got his daily walks, encouraged him to eat when he was struggling, and treated him like one of her own. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.”

“Kerri was fantastic! She promptly responds to messages and accommodated all my requests, such as sending pictures of the dogs playing, providing daily updates and bathing him before pick up. I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog with Kerri. She treats my dog as if he was one of her own, and I highly recommend her and would use her again.”

“We can not recommend Vanessa highly enough! She sent us daily updates on how Sully was doing with pictures which made our day. We enjoyed our vacation knowing that Sully was so loved and well cared for.”

“Amy and John took great care of Ziggy. They sent photos and updates daily and it looked like Ziggy was living his best life at a 5 star retreat, making new friends and keeping busy.”

About: I became a dog mom at 19, and have been dog-sitting off and on ever since! While the extra income is always nice, I mainly do it to prevent coming home with a new puppy every week. I treat all the dogs I meet like they're my own and give them as much love as I do to my own babies - an 11 year old Lab mix and 6 year old German Shepherd! They both have loved every dog I've ever had staying at my house. I'm comfortable with all breeds and all ages, and have no problem giving medications if needed. I am available during the daytime for long walks and have a very flexible work schedule, which means a lot of play time for your pup! I’m currently working remote part-time and have the flexibility to choose my own hours, which means I have plenty of spare time during the day to spend with your pup! I treat your pets as if they are my own, giving them the same amount of love and attention if not more! I always make sure they are well cared for and that the client comes home to a clean house and happy pets!
“Second time booking with Morgann, she was absolutely great as always. She is very attentive and a quick communicator; my dog did not want to leave her place. 10/10 would book again.”

“Lindsey and Timothy were excellent with my bulldog. My dog had so much fun with their family. I was always updated and given photos and videos throughout his stay. I was quickly responded to with any questions or concerns. I definitely will be using them again and I know that my dog will be excited to see them again.”

“Alex was amazing with Miller and Moose! They came back super tired and well taken care of. Alex and his family sent great updates of them and I can tell they were treated as a member of their family :) Will continue to use Alex when he and his family are available!”

“Kimmie was great with Dozer! Loved the pics and videos we received while we were away from our pup. She allowed us to fully enjoy our vacation knowing he’s well taken care of.”

“Sharon was wonderful. Our gal Luna had a great time roaming around her property and playing with other dogs. Sharon sent lots of pictures and updates and even arranged a meet and greet before her first stay!”

“Sarah and her husband both do an incredible job taking care of my little Jackson. He's a high energy, anxious mini aussie, and it’s not easy finding someone I can trust to put in the level of care and patience that he needs to feel comfortable. Jackson always comes back home healthy and relaxed after staying with Sarah. Very happy with their service! Thank you!”

“I am so thankful for Zydae's care of my Maxi. Honestly, I was pretty nervous at first, because Maxi is usually taken care of by someone else, but this time, I was trying someone new. I was especially interested because of her proximity to where I now live. I am SO GLAD that I took the chance. Zydae took care of Maxi so well. She noticed and reported things about her, and provided wonderful suggestions that would help with her care. Maxi had other dogs to play with, and a little human as well, in a great, spacious area. I am so thankful to have found Zydae--she will see Maxi again! Dr. Janine Scott MD FAAFP”
“Agus was very tuned into my older dog’s needs. She had not stayed away from our house in a long time, and she came home happy and in great shape. Harry Potter was a sweet buddy for her.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
