“We were SO thrilled with the wonderful care that Lily got! We left Lily for six nights, and we never had any concerns. We got friendly, daily updates with great pictures. Ellison and Lisa have two great kids who played with her and loved on her. We were afraid that when we came to get her, Lily would not want to come with us! We were so happy with our choice, and we will definitely ask them again to watch her when we go somewhere. You couldn't find a better family.”

About: Like everyone else on this app, I love dogs, and grew up with German Shepherds However, I started on the rover app because I wanted to provide something I thought was missing… reliable pet care for high energy and athletic dogs. I travel a lot and the last thing I want to worry about is if my 70 pound GSD is wearing out the kind old lady I left her with because that’s who was available. Rest assured, if you leave your dog with me for work or for play, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. Need daily runs or multiple walks a day? Good. We run every day. Need yard play time? Not a problem. Extra belly rubs? Easy. Is your Dog a couch potato? I have a couch and have happy to give rubs and chill out. The point is, weather for a week or a weekend, if you leave your dog with me, you can focus on where ever your travels are taking you. I have a pretty demanding full time job. I’m only available for boarding in my home. If I’m home, your dog has 100% of my focus. I have a very well trained and very social GSD and a large fenced in yard. I also have rooms I can fence off to give your dog some space. I’m happy to play fetch, take multiple walks, and daily runs if needed.
“Jacki was an awesome Rover. She provided multiple daily updates with pictures and gave Remi plenty of exercise. Jacki is easy to communicate with and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a Rover!”

“Ana is literally the best and always looks after our babies with the most care and attention! We love her and she is the best sitter we’ve dealt with. Thank you for all do Ana!”

“Cooper and Chase had a very good second stay with Nathan and Courtney. They were giving a lot of attention and spent time in the fenced backyard. A much better alternative to a kennel. We were sent pictures every day to keep up with how our boys were doing.”

“We love Hannah and her pup Walter! She is great with communication and send us lots of picture of the dogs playing. We know our dog is well loved when he leaves home to head to her house!”

“I couldn't be happier with the care my boys received! Casey kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. My boys came home happy and well cared for. I highly recommend Casey to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. I will definitely book with her again!”

“This was my first time using Rover and seperating from my 2 mini goldendoodles for more than a few hours. Evelin was very caring and loving towards both my dogs and not only her but all her family, they treated them like it was their dogs which I loved and amazed how fast my dogs felt like at home with her. She sents pictures and made sure to remind me everything was okay and to enjoy my vacations. I couldn't thank her enough for all she did, I look forward to booking with her again for any overnight boarding in the future! I highly recommend booking your fur baby's stay with Evelin! ❤️”

“Haley did a wonderful job taking care of my big boy. She sent pictures of him enjoying his time. He can be a big baby sometimes when we leave and she was patient with his pouting until he came around. I recommend her 100%”

“Ludris was a wonderful sitter for my large breed dog, Jill. She kept me updated with pictures and provided clear communication throughout my dog's stay. I would definitely book with her again!”

“This was the first time our pup had stayed away from us and I was nervos but Maria kept me updated and sent multiple pictures throughout the day. She took great care of him and we will be using her from this point forward! :)”

“Jayda was amazing with my dog and kept me updated daily with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. I could tell my pup was well cared for and happy. Highly recommend!”

“Kailey and her family were amazing with our fur baby girl, Korra! She had such an amazing time with them and got a gift from Santa paw♥️ (such a beautiful idea!). We left for a vacation outside of the country and felt so confident that Korra was in great hands - Korra participated in bedtime routines, was combed by the kids, played a lot of tag and went for neighborhood walks when the weather permitted it! I also got daily updates, which was just so perfect! Definitely Kailey will be my to go person for Korra. 🤗 Kailey was also so flexible and helpful! Thank you thank you thank you!! 💃🏽”

“Dropped Bentley off dog was able to settle in within a few hours and seemed to be comfortable in his surroundings via the pictures sent to us letting us know how he was doing. They even gave him a bath prior to pick up. They were very friendly and will be using them again.”

“As soon as she crossed over the threshold, my puppy immediately took a liking to Ercilia. This made me feel extremely comfortable with her providing weekend care for my baby. I will absolutely recommend her, and will also be using her in the future!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pinehurst
I cannot say enough great things about this dog sitting family! My two dogs absolutely adored their two kiddos! They enjoyed playing outside with the family's dog, Yogi. Even Rowen, who usually prefers staying inside, joined in on the fun and had a wonderful time.🤗 I felt at ease the whole time I was out of town because they kept me updated and sent pictures. 10/10 would recommend 👌🏽

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
