“Ana is amazing!!! We had a previous bad experience and were nervous leaving our Bella again. Ana took all of our worries away! She kept me informed, sent photos and made sure Bella was comfortable in her home. She is already booked for our next trip!”

“Camille was absolutely amazing! So much so my dog wasn’t ready to come home lol. She was extremely accommodating, responsive and kind. I truly know she made my dog feel home away from home and we are so grateful she was available and will book again and again!”
“Nathan sent updates daily reassuring us that our pup was doing well. He was also flexible when our travel plans faced a delay. Would recommend to anyone who wants a safe and fun environment for their fur babies.”

“Brooke was awesome. She accommodated our schedule and was very flexible with drop off and pick up times. She has a fenced in back yard which was perfect for Penny and a sweet dog of her own for our dog to play with.”

“Andi can usually come up pretty anxious after she's been boarded or in someone else's home for a while. She was so relaxed, I'm not sure she wanted to leave! Elison, Lisa, and their family were so great.”

About: Like everyone else on this app, I love dogs, and grew up with German Shepherds However, I started on the rover app because I wanted to provide something I thought was missing… reliable pet care for high energy and athletic dogs. I travel a lot and the last thing I want to worry about is if my 70 pound GSD is wearing out the kind old lady I left her with because that’s who was available. Rest assured, if you leave your dog with me for work or for play, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. Need daily runs or multiple walks a day? Good. We run every day. Need yard play time? Not a problem. Extra belly rubs? Easy. Is your Dog a couch potato? I have a couch and have happy to give rubs and chill out. The point is, weather for a week or a weekend, if you leave your dog with me, you can focus on where ever your travels are taking you. I have a pretty demanding full time job. I’m only available for boarding in my home. If I’m home, your dog has 100% of my focus. I have a very well trained and very social GSD and a large fenced in yard. I also have rooms I can fence off to give your dog some space. I’m happy to play fetch, take multiple walks, and daily runs if needed.
“Shilo loved his stay, he really respected her. She is an amazing sitter I would recommend her to anyone. I was really thankful she took him last minute. We will definitely come back to her in the future.”

“All went great Bella was a happy girl! She is going back in a couple of days for a longer visit. I am not worried in the least with having to leave her, knowing she will be well taken care of!”

“Although this is the first Taylor’s sitting Kiki, I can tell Kiki was happy and comfortable at Taylor’s house and played along with Taylor’s dog, a golden retriever. Taylor’s daily photo and sms update of Kiki’s activities gave my wife and me a peace of mind. We are happy and thankful for Taylor’s care of Kiki. We will definitely ask Taylor for help again when needed.”

“Jayda was amazing with my dog and kept me updated daily with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. I could tell my pup was well cared for and happy. Highly recommend!”

“Maria is wonderful. She was able to take Cleo in with very short notice and took great care of her. She sent me messages and pictures to show that Cleo was very happy staying with her. I highly recommend her and she will be my first choice for dog sitting in the future.”

About: Is your dog giving you the ultimate guilt trip as you grab your keys to leave? You know, the one that says, How dare you leave without me? I get it. I’ve grown up with and cared for dogs my whole life! From German Shepards to Chihuahuas they’re all special in their own way and your pups deserve to be cared for just as well when they’re with me as they are with you! So don’t worry, I’ve got this. While you’re out living your best life and working hard, me and your four-legged family member will be throwing our own little party. Walks, belly rubs, zoomies, you name it. Need support? Send me a message. Your pup and I have plans! I’m currently home full time during the week, so I have plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-ins, daycare, and boarding. My schedule can vary with appointments and commitments, but I’m usually able to make things work, especially when we plan ahead! Safety and trust are very important to me and I want to ensure you feel just as comfortable as your pet does while we hang out together! I’m willing to work with your and your pet’s needs.
“We absolutely love and appreciate Ercillia!!! We have 3 senior dogs that love a "quiet environment" and having someone with them when we go on vacation is priceless knowing we can relax and not stress we don't worry when they are with Ercillia she is so good to them highly recommend her!!!”

“Taylor was wonderful to work with when it came to having someone watch our boys while we spent time with family at the beach. She answered any questions I had, and reassured me that my boys would be loved and taken care of. She sent plenty of updates during the day and before bed, along with some photos, this was greatly appreciated as it helped me relax and enjoy my time with family. Ace & Loki can get pretty anxious when they are away from us, and with someone they aren’t familiar with, but Taylor was able to get them settled and in a good routine very quickly. Hopefully she will still be working through Rover in the future next time we need someone to watch our boys when we visit my in-laws again!”

“We love Hannah and her pup Walter! She is great with communication and send us lots of picture of the dogs playing. We know our dog is well loved when he leaves home to head to her house!”

“Very pleased with Alex watching my best friend for 2 nights. He immediately put me at ease when I dropped off my pup and I had no worries after that. Gracie was safe and happy. When I get back to Sanford, I will definitely look to board with Alex again. I highly recommend Alex to care for your "rover". Thank You Alex!”

“Casey was great!! She showered my dog with love and kept me informed (pictures and messages) with how he was doing throughout his stay. I would 1000% recommend her to anyone who’s looking for someone to watch their pet.”

Annie gave my two Poms the sweetest home away from home. They both have very *unique* personalities, and we could see immediately from her pictures that they had no problem being themselves and I couldn’t be happier that we found such a good match - we’d love it if she would watch them the next time we go away. Thank you Annie and family, and of course Pearl too, for being so welcoming and taking such good care of our Pom Squad.

I can't say enough good things about Emerald! She gave Carter wonderful care, paying close attention to his behavior to ensure he was happy and comfortable. She sent us pictures everyday which gave me total peace of mind, and Carter came home happy as can be. She is truly exceptional!! 🐾

We recently had our dog Ruby stay with Maria, and we couldn’t be happier with the care she received! From the moment we dropped Ruby off, we knew she was in wonderful hands. Maria treated her like family, giving her plenty of love, attention, and playtime. Ruby also had a great time with Maria’s sweet little dog Remy — they became fast friends, which made us feel even more at ease. Maria kept us updated with photos and messages, which was such a thoughtful touch and let us relax knowing Ruby was happy and comfortable. It’s clear how much Maria truly loves and understands dogs. We highly recommend Maria to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and caring sitter. Ruby will definitely be excited to go back and spend more time with Maria and Remy!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
