“Melissa was flexible and communicative. She took excellent care of our boy while I was away and my husband was busy at work. Highly recommend her and hope to book again!”

“Victoria was fantastic and we will definitely be requesting her to care for our boy again. We were worried about finding someone to do a drop-in visit for our boy with such short notice and during a holiday weekend but Victoria was quick to respond and even easier to book. During the M&G, she was personable and asked several questions to ensure that all of our needs and our boy's needs would be met while we were away. During the actual drop-in visit, she was punctual (yay!), sent us several pictures of our boy looking thrilled, and sent me a very detailed description of the visit. Her rate is also very reasonable and worth it since she really goes the extra mile for her client and his or her's furry family member. She also left some yummy treats which our boy loved! I would surely recommend her to anyone needing care for their pet(s).”

“Meghan helped watch my two babies last minute and texted me constant updates with pictures included. I will definitely be using her again for all my out of town travel and will feel 100% comfortable leaving them in her care.”

About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs and cats, including my own pets as well as pet sitting for friends and family. While I’m new to Rover, I’m definitely not new to caring for animals! I’m comfortable with dogs and cats of different personalities and needs, from energetic pets who want lots of playtime and walks to more reserved pets who need patience and time to warm up. I can help with feeding, fresh water, walks, potty breaks, litter boxes, playtime, medications, and other needs that are part of your pet’s normal routine. I understand how important it is to have someone dependable caring for your pets when you can’t be there, and I’ll treat them with the same attention and care I give my own. I work full-time, primarily during evening and nighttime hours, which gives me plenty of daytime availability for pet care! My work schedule varies from week to week, so I often have weekdays and daytime hours available when many pet owners are at work. I keep my Rover calendar updated to reflect my availability and am happy to work with you to find visit or walk times that fit your pet’s normal routine. On my days off, I have even more flexibility for multiple drop-ins, walks, and pets who may need a little extra attention. Feel free to reach out with the dates and times you need—even with my unconventional schedule, I may be available! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my priority. I’ll follow their normal routine and your instructions closely, including feeding, medications, walks, and any special needs. I’m careful with doors, gates, and leashes, respectful of your home, and happy to provide updates so you know your pet is safe and well cared for.

“Samantha was amazing at every visit! Her communication was flawless and she is very reliable. She is patient and excellent with our shy dog mikalah. We will definitely look forward to rebooking with her, and highly recommend!”

“Alyson is the BEST! She is wonderful with our pup and has been so accommodating. We highly recommend Alyson and will hope she is available whenever we are in North Carolina!”

“Mary took excellent care of my cat while I was gone. She is friendly, attentive, and made sure she understood the care and medications my cat needs. Her drop-ins were on-time, and her updates and pictures were outstanding. I'm glad to have been able to hire her for regular bookings, and I highly recommend her!”

“Emerald helped us with our dog at very last minute, before even having met him or our family, and she did a wonderful job. She was on time and thorough with her walks and care of our dog. She also left us notes in rover about his status and whether or not he pooped/peed and was fed. We appreciated everything she did so much and will surely hire her again!! Thank you!”

“Alanna did a wonderful job taking care of my kitten while I was away! She kept me updated with lots of details and photos of my cat, which I appreciated so much! I would definitely recommend Alanna and am so thankful for her amazing care and attention to Opal!”

“Hannah did such a great job looking after our kitty! We have an indoor cat who likes to sit on the porch during summers and Hannah brought Anna-Murph outside every day to give her air/bird-watching time. We trusted Hannah in our house while away for vacation and she was incredibly respectful of not only our kitty but also our home. Hope to use her again in the future!”

“I wanted to extend my heartfelt gratitude for taking care of my K & A. Your dedication, care, and attention to detail made my time away much easier knowing they were in such good hands. It was clear that Annie treated them with care and affection as if they were her own. The updates and photos were reassuring and made me smile and feel at ease. Annie went above and beyond facilitating a smooth process while me being in the hospital. Outstanding communication. She is a reliable and caring dog sitter. You truly made a difference, and I'm so thankful for your help. My babies certainly chose you! ☺️”

“Ann has watched our dog a couple times. Very kind and attentive. My dog tends to be a diva, hates boarding at the kennels, but we leave her with Ann and we come back to a happy dog. Great dog sitter!”

About: I’ve had experience with the chillest of dogs to the most anxious and cautious. Growing up on a farm, I’ve had experience with numerous breeds with various needs. From fun-loving golden retrievers, to extremely anxious Australian Shepards and protective Pitbulls, I’ve learned how to handle a wide variety of dogs. I work from home and can be flexible with me schedule. Early morning check-ins, lunch break play dates, afternoon walks, evening entertainment - I’m your girl! I have a cat of my own who I would die for, so I know how important pets are to the people who love them! I also know how stressful it can be to leave them behind, especially when they’re used to having their person around. When caring for your pet, I’ll follow your instructions closely, keep their routine as normal as possible, and give them the attention and enrichment they need. Every pet is different and I love getting to know their personality! I’ve cared for anxious pets that need extra reassurance, cuddle bugs, playful pets that want attention all day, and pets are happiest having their own space. Growing up with numerous cats and dogs, along with pet sitting for others, I’ve learned that every pet has unique needs. I’ll care for your pets the way I would want someone to care for my own and I’ll send lots of updates and pictures so you can feel confident they’re happy, safe, and getting lots of love while you’re away (:
About: I grew up with dogs most of my life and have a dog of my own now. I’m an experienced pet sitter and have watched multiple friend’s dogs before as well as my parent’s special needs elderly dachshund/lab mix who needed extra care and attention. I also volunteer at a local dog rescue. I love all dogs and feel like I have a special bond with them! My own dog, Remy, has some separation anxiety so I know how important it is to have a communicative dog sitter you can trust. I work from home and ensure that I have time in my schedule to give my own dog and the dogs I watch the needed attention and exercise. I have a flexible schedule and can take them on multiple walks a day if needed. I don’t have a fenced in yard, but I am diligent about taking your dog out and live in a great neighborhood to walk dogs! I don’t crate my dog but I am happy to do it if that is best for your dog. My dog, Remy, is only 8 pounds so I can only accept dogs that do well with smaller dogs. Remy does well with other dogs. He goes to other Rovers who have dogs and goes to day care occasionally. He’s a little shy so it takes a little bit to warm up but he always ends up making a friend.
About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was a kid and I absolutely love animals of every kind. I am very active, I have lots of experience with dogs (including fostering 26 dogs and puppies through a local rescue) and I can provide basic training, as well as baths, and lots of love while you are away! My goal for every booking is for your pets to feel like they are the ones going on vacation at the same time their family is :) I have two dogs who are my everything so I always do my best to provide the same level of care I would want for my dogs when I’m away! I typically go for a walk in the morning and a walk at night with my dogs so I can provide lots of exercise if desired! I am also always happy to just provide lots of snuggles if that is more your dog’s speed! I never leave dogs outside unsupervised and provide lots of mental and physical exercise as well as lots of love. I’m happy to adhere to the pet’s standard routine as well to help ease the transition while you’re away!

Holly was wonderful! It was such a relief knowing our dogs were being checked on during the day. She was prompt, communicative, and sent photos during each visit, which gave us great peace of mind. Our dogs looked happy and relaxed. I highly recommend Holly for any drop-in pet care needs and would absolutely book her again!

Samantha was so sweet and took amazing care of my two cats! She was extremely communicative, quick to reply, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She did great with my shy kitties, which meant so much to me. I’ve already rebooked her since then and plan to continue using her in the future. Highly recommend Samantha’s care!

Lucia is pretty much the only one my shy scaredy cat likes, she immediately won Ave over and got Ave to trust her! I feel 1000x better when I’m gone knowing Lucia is there. Would HIGHLY recommend and will continue to rebook with her (pretty sure this is the third or fourth time - every one has been excellent). Also very communicative, responsible, nice and takes plenty of pics! Thank you so much, really appreciate you.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
