“Melissa was flexible and communicative. She took excellent care of our boy while I was away and my husband was busy at work. Highly recommend her and hope to book again!”

“Lindy was extremely communicative, on time and thorough! Our pup was so much happier upon our return from a short weekend away verses his time in a kennel. We are so thankful and will have Lindy drop in again!”

“Jennifer was amazing while doing drop ins for my two cats for two weeks! She went above and beyond for my girls and was very consistent with the updates and photos which I so appreciated. By the end of the second week she even fully earned the trust of my super shy girl who asked for belly pets from her! I’ll definitely be having Jennifer back for my next trip out of town.”

“Makya was fantastic. She was a great communicator through the entire process, showed up on time, and let us know how our cats were doing with pictures and texts. I recommend working with her and we will be back!”

“Mary took excellent care of my cat while I was gone. She is friendly, attentive, and made sure she understood the care and medications my cat needs. Her drop-ins were on-time, and her updates and pictures were outstanding. I'm glad to have been able to hire her for regular bookings, and I highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve had experience with the chillest of dogs to the most anxious and cautious. Growing up on a farm, I’ve had experience with numerous breeds with various needs. From fun-loving golden retrievers, to extremely anxious Australian Shepards and protective Pitbulls, I’ve learned how to handle a wide variety of dogs. I work from home and can be flexible with me schedule. Early morning check-ins, lunch break play dates, afternoon walks, evening entertainment - I’m your girl! I have a cat of my own who I would die for, so I know how important pets are to the people who love them! I also know how stressful it can be to leave them behind, especially when they’re used to having their person around. When caring for your pet, I’ll follow your instructions closely, keep their routine as normal as possible, and give them the attention and enrichment they need. Every pet is different and I love getting to know their personality! I’ve cared for anxious pets that need extra reassurance, cuddle bugs, playful pets that want attention all day, and pets are happiest having their own space. Growing up with numerous cats and dogs, along with pet sitting for others, I’ve learned that every pet has unique needs. I’ll care for your pets the way I would want someone to care for my own and I’ll send lots of updates and pictures so you can feel confident they’re happy, safe, and getting lots of love while you’re away (:
“Emerald helped us with our dog at very last minute, before even having met him or our family, and she did a wonderful job. She was on time and thorough with her walks and care of our dog. She also left us notes in rover about his status and whether or not he pooped/peed and was fed. We appreciated everything she did so much and will surely hire her again!! Thank you!”

“Jesse was amazing! We are a dog who is fairly skittish around new people and Jesse was able to get him to be comfortable around her and come out of his shell while we were away! She communicated regularly and always sent pictures from her visit! Will definitely use her in the future!”

“Samantha was amazing at every visit! Her communication was flawless and she is very reliable. She is patient and excellent with our shy dog mikalah. We will definitely look forward to rebooking with her, and highly recommend!”

“Excellent pet caregiver. Took care of, played with and loved on our cats while we were away. Always updated us on how they were doing each day. True peace of mind while you are away. Will definitely use again.”

“Alanna did a wonderful job taking care of my kitten while I was away! She kept me updated with lots of details and photos of my cat, which I appreciated so much! I would definitely recommend Alanna and am so thankful for her amazing care and attention to Opal!”

“She was great with the cats, and so communicative and sweet! Would highly recommend and will be rebooking with her for sure next time I go on a trip. Thanks Kimmie and kids!”

About: I’ve spent years caring for dogs and cats, including my own pets as well as pet sitting for friends and family. While I’m new to Rover, I’m definitely not new to caring for animals! I’m comfortable with dogs and cats of different personalities and needs, from energetic pets who want lots of playtime and walks to more reserved pets who need patience and time to warm up. I can help with feeding, fresh water, walks, potty breaks, litter boxes, playtime, medications, and other needs that are part of your pet’s normal routine. I understand how important it is to have someone dependable caring for your pets when you can’t be there, and I’ll treat them with the same attention and care I give my own. I work full-time, primarily during evening and nighttime hours, which gives me plenty of daytime availability for pet care! My work schedule varies from week to week, so I often have weekdays and daytime hours available when many pet owners are at work. I keep my Rover calendar updated to reflect my availability and am happy to work with you to find visit or walk times that fit your pet’s normal routine. On my days off, I have even more flexibility for multiple drop-ins, walks, and pets who may need a little extra attention. Feel free to reach out with the dates and times you need—even with my unconventional schedule, I may be available! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my priority. I’ll follow their normal routine and your instructions closely, including feeding, medications, walks, and any special needs. I’m careful with doors, gates, and leashes, respectful of your home, and happy to provide updates so you know your pet is safe and well cared for.
“Kristal is a dream! She is professional and has attention to detail and she truly loves dogs! My dog is high needs and I am very picky when it comes to who I trust! I would definitely recommend her and will continue to book her! Thanks again!!”

About: RN and ex-vet tech :) Excellent with dogs and cats, of all breeds, and competent to provide the necessary care for "special needs pets". Excellent trainer if any is needed or any advice. We will enjoy long walks on trails or around your neighborhood. My own animals are completely trained and get along with farm or other domestic animals. I am extremely active and like to keep pets that way too! My house is loaded with fun toys for both cats and dogs. I love to give baths and nail trims, for willing babies. I hope to spend time with your babies soon! Currently taking a break from full-time working and only work PRN as an ICU RN, so I have a lot of free time :) Prefer to take your babies on walks and help them get their exercise, but also happy to follow whatever routine you want! My own animals are very spoiled and loved. They get the maximum amount of cuddles and playtime I can give them, and I want to give that to your babies as well :)
About: I have cared for and owned dogs, along with many other animal/reptile friends for many years. Being involved in 4-H and FFA I have raised a variety of animals. I have two fur kids, Apollo and Astraea, ages 4 and 5 years old who love to eat, play, go hiking and nap. A crested gecko and huge freshwater aquarium call my place home as well. I can make sure your friend gets some extra attention, exercise, and even work on any training or new tricks they are learning. I moved to the area recently and began working from home allowing me some extra time to do this again :). Hope to hear from you soon! Working from home allows a pretty flexible schedule. Just need a days notice to ensure I could stop by if a specific time is needed! I am happy and comfortable assisting your friend based on whatever guidrlines you give! Just let me know what kind of care your friens needs!

Jennifer has done drop ins for my cats during two periods of time for me now. She is very thoughtful with the updates she leaves me on the report cards and makes sure I know my girls are safe and well taken care of. I also love when she brings her kids along to give my social butterfly of a cat a little extra attention! I will definitely continue booking with Jennifer.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vass. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
