mantha was amazing with my babies! 🐾 She sent us daily updates and multiple pictures, which made us feel so comfortable while we were away. We booked her last minute, and she was so kind and willing to help take care of our dogs. My dogs looked so happy and comfortable with her, and you can tell she truly cares for animals. She did an amazing job, and I would definitely book with her again! ❤️

If I could give 10 stars I would. Jackie took such amazing care of our pups and home. Communication was great. Our house and dogs were calm and clean after being gone for 10 days. Jackie went above and beyond in every way, and we are so thankful to have found her.

I highly recommend Gabrielle! My Aussiedoodle, Ozzie, loves her. He’s 13, diabetic (2 shots/day), and is going blind. She is so kind to him and follows his daily regime to a tee. Gabrielle has kept Ozzie for an afternoon and overnight, too. We’ll definitely reach out to her again.

Michael is fantastic with our boys. Michael came to sit with our boys in our home, we found him to be VERY reliable and trustworthy. Michael sent us video and photos of our boys each day and that help to comfort our concerns about leaving them at home while we were away Our boys always had food, water, cuddles and playtime. Michael even went as far as to mop our floor because there were muddy puppy prints all over. We will use Michael again to sit with our boys. We highly recommend him to anyone who wants to know their fur babies are safe and taken care of while your away. Michael is the best

About: I have very flexible hours and love taking care of pets with walks and lots of cuddles. I own two dogs and a cat that have very lovely lifestyles. Pet sitting works into my schedule because I am retired, and have a part time job working from home. I am up very early every day and am willing to sit with pets for awhile and also walk them. I care for my own pets daily. I am sure that when I leave a home after a drop in that the area is clean and safe for the pet.

About: I've had dogs, cats, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish since I was a kid. My family also boarded/walked dogs for a while on here before. I'm very flexible so I can pretty much make anything work. I do some Uber eats as well. Not sure why it's making me put THIS many words here but it's required. I am very careful and caring for my own that I've had over the years. Right now I personally have an iguana that has a lot of particular care needs. And so I understand that everyone else wants their animals to be treated with that same amount of intention.

About: I’ve been around animals for most of my life and truly love caring for them. I’ve worked with horses since I was 8 years old and have cared for dogs since I was 16. I’m experienced with animals of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just giving extra attention and affection, I treat every pet like family! I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility for pet care. I’m available most weekdays and have open availability on many weekends. I love spending time with animals, making sure they get attention, exercise, and lots of care while you’re away. I provide a safe, loving, and calm environment for every pet in my care. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, crating if needed, and giving pets lots of attention and comfort. I also make sure pets stay on their normal routine so they feel safe and stress-free while their owners are away.

About: I will go the extra mile to make sure your pup is well loved, hydrated, fed, and exercised. I am new to the area and am eager to explore with a furry friend that I cannot financially support currently, so I will love and care for it like my own. I just moved to Southern Pines, and am looking for any kind of word I can. My experience having dogs in my house all my life has made me responsible and capable of taking care of any kind of dog. We have a very safe apartment complex that we take long walks around many times a day to keep your pup happy and comfortable. If your dog is also a competent swimmer we have a nearby lake with public swimming spots to enjoy.

About: Built-In 24/7 Companionship: Because I work a full-time remote corporate job, I am not leaving your home for 8 to 10 hours a day. I work right alongside your pets, providing continuous companionship, structured routine, and excellent home security. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine because my full-time remote work setup is built around being at home. Instead of squeezing pet care into early mornings or late nights, your animals become a natural part of my regular day. The way I care for pets is tailored specifically to the environment that makes them feel most comfortable, ensuring a seamless transition whether I am staying at your house or visiting.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and truly understand how important it is to have someone you can trust caring for your pets while you’re away. I’m a pet owner myself, so I know every animal has their own personality, routine, and comfort level. I’m patient, attentive, dependable, and always make sure pets receive plenty of love and attention while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. I’m comfortable with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, litter box care, basic grooming, and administering routine medications when needed. I also have experience caring for pets with more specific routines and needs. I’m happy to follow detailed instructions and provide plenty of photos and updates so you can feel confident that your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. Most importantly, I treat every pet like I would want someone to treat my own—with patience, kindness, and lots of attention. My online studies ensure I'm always available to provide consistent and reliable care for your furry friend. I would prefer so have at least a two hours notice if you need me or if you do not need me on a scheduled day. I'm committed to keeping your furry friend safe and happy. Open communication is key! I'll provide regular updates with photos and videos so you always know how your pet is doing.

About: I have a friendly 3 year old doodle and we are looking to make dog friends and have lots of play dates as well as help out with anything you and your pets need! I have grown up with dogs and cats my whole life and can provide long walks as well as tons of cuddles. I have lots of experience with housesitting in other peoples homes. My dog has leash reactivity so I am experienced in dealing with training and management of that. I work 12 hour shifts 3 days per week so have lots of free time to pet sit during the week. My free days vary each week but I will keep my schedule updated. I walk & play with my own dog at least twice per day. I’d love to bring my pup to play with yours and walk together if that’s something your dog would enjoy! I’m happy to come over alone or with my 3 year old friendly dog to walk, play, or house sit. I will try my best to accommodate any specific requests you have. I will change water, feed meals, and love on your pet like they’re my own! Please let me know if your pet has any behavioral concerns (leash reactivity, separation anxiety, difficulty with other animals) or any medical needs. I like to be as prepared as possible!

FAQs for House Sitting - West End

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in West End on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 255 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West End. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West End walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West End maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West End choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West End. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
