“mantha was amazing with my babies! 🐾 She sent us daily updates and multiple pictures, which made us feel so comfortable while we were away. We booked her last minute, and she was so kind and willing to help take care of our dogs. My dogs looked so happy and comfortable with her, and you can tell she truly cares for animals. She did an amazing job, and I would definitely book with her again! ❤️”

“If I could give 10 stars I would. Jackie took such amazing care of our pups and home. Communication was great. Our house and dogs were calm and clean after being gone for 10 days. Jackie went above and beyond in every way, and we are so thankful to have found her.”

“Lola watched our sweet old doggy and house over a long weekend, and we were super impressed by her communication and care throughout it. We came home to a clean home and super happy pup. We’d absolutely recommend her to others!”

“Will definitely use Michael again! I hired Michael to watch our house and our dog while we went away for the weekend. He took great care of my house and would send us updates of my dog playing and having fun! Highly recommend Michael!”

“Savannah did a great job caring for our 3 dogs and two cats. It is a hard task because of the dynamics of a 13 year old crotchety mutt and 6 month old and year old puppies who are high energy and love to get into trouble. Thank you, Savannah!! Highly recommended!”

“Zoey was great. She made my fur baby Patches feel safe and secure. Zoey responded with texts and reassurance my dog was eating and running outside. I would highly recommend zoey. Everyone should have a sitter like her.”

“We were looking for a pet sitter on relatively short notice. I was impressed with Tessah's work experience with animals and her passion for them. She was able to come and stay with our pets (2 dogs, 3 cats plus a foster mama cat and her babies) and we will definitely contact Tessah when we need a pet sitter in the future. I appreciated the prompt and clear communication as well as the pet pictures. Even our shyest cat came out to say hi!!”

“Olivia is the best! She is pleasant, reliable, punctual and very capable. She helped us with our bernadoodle during a difficult time and responded quickly to late time changes and evolving circumstances. We would recommend Olivia to any dog parent. Except when we need her!”
“Taylor did a wonderful job taking care of my pup! He was attentive and communicated frequently with me. I never had to worry about my pup while I was away. My pup was so happy and I could tell he had a great time with Taylor! I would definitely recommend Taylor!”

“Mae was absolutely incredible!! She went above and beyond our expectations to make sure our dogs were happy, cared for, and comfortable! She spent a great amount of time playing with our dogs and she also had excellent communication with sending us updates and pictures while we were away! Mae stayed in our home overnight for a couple nights to watch our dogs and she was extremely respectful of our home as well!! We have now found our go-to person with Mae and we (and our pups) 🐶 couldn’t be happier!”

“AWESOME!! Annelise was a doll, I will be calling on her again if I need someone to sit with my dogs. She is absolutely awesome. She’s very sweet person and she was good with my dogs. I did feel bad because she got caught in the storm on Saturday night and it was without power for a while. so the next time I need to go away and the sitter I will be calling on her. I hope she enjoyed my dogs as much as they enjoyed her even though Carter is a little shy.”

“I have nothing but amazing things to say about Mary! I have two dogs that require medications and someone to stay in home with them. Mary came over before my trip to meet them and make sure she knew everything that was required to take care of my girls! Throughout my time away, Mary was very communicative with pictures and was always giving me updates about how my dogs were doing. She was extremely sweet and loving toward my dogs and I would recommend her to anyone who is apprehensive about leaving their dogs.”

“Toodles had such a great time with her! She took amazing care of Toodles and kept me updated while I was away, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear Toodles was happy, comfortable, and loved. I’ll definitely be booking with her again. Thank you for taking such great care of my girl!!!! :)”

About: I grew up with dogs, big and small, ranging from Shih Tzu to Siberian Husky and Rottweiler! I care about dogs and all animals and treat them the same I would treat any person. I understand that animals have feelings, needs and wants. I want to be able to help families with their animal care needs, so that you have no worries while you are away or at work. You will know that your pup is in good hands! I am here to make your pup happy, comfortable and safe while you're away. When stopping by your home, I will visit your pup 2-3 times a day, morning, afternoon and evening. During those visits, I will verify that your pup has food and water, is let out to do their business and go for a walk for at least 10 minutes. When dog walking, I will walk your pup for a minimum of 15 minutes and will make sure the dog's food and water is full. I will provide walks as long as the dog may need, care in my, or your, home and be patient with any special needs or potty training. I believe that animals should be treated in a positive manner and will do so when taking care of your fur baby! When dog walking, depending on the individual's ability, we will go long and short distance, walking and running. We will explore areas where the dog can play and enjoy his or herself. I'd be honored to help you and your fur baby. I work full-time currently, but can do early morning check ins, afternoons depending on location & evenings. Looking forward to meeting you and your pup! I can provide the best care and love for your pup or kitty in your home and during check ins. I look forward to meeting you!
About: I will go the extra mile to make sure your pup is well loved, hydrated, fed, and exercised. I am new to the area and am eager to explore with a furry friend that I cannot financially support currently, so I will love and care for it like my own. I just moved to Southern Pines, and am looking for any kind of word I can. My experience having dogs in my house all my life has made me responsible and capable of taking care of any kind of dog. We have a very safe apartment complex that we take long walks around many times a day to keep your pup happy and comfortable. If your dog is also a competent swimmer we have a nearby lake with public swimming spots to enjoy.
“Rebecca was absolutely amazing with our two pups. She even came to get them, sent pictures almost every day, was very responsive, and even dropped them off at our house. We got home and were greeted by them which was amazing. Highly recommend!!!”

He is active duty ARMY, so he can be gone a lot, and what better way to fill the time than with furry friends! I will love your dog like my own. I go to the gym in the morning, than I am home the rest of the day! We will have plenty of time for walks and play time and I hope you meet you and you furry friend soon! I am getting my masters degree in nutrition from an online university so I do all of my work from home! It is the perfect home for your doggie too! I will love your pet as you do! Walk and feed in the morning and then feed and a walk after dinner plus the dog gets free roam in and out of the house because we have a fully fenced in yard I’m a stay at home mom with two little kids! Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Seven Lakes walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Seven Lakes maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Seven Lakes choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Seven Lakes. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
