“Kristen did a fantastic job caring for our pets in our home while we were away. She shared regular updates and great photos, which gave us total peace of mind. We’re new to the area and were so grateful to find her on short notice - she took wonderful care of our pups with only a couple weeks’ notice. We hope to be able to book her again soon when we can’t take our fur kids on vacation with us!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was little. I love working with them and loving them while their pet parents are away. I have about 6 years under my belt with housesitting a dog, about 2-3 dogs at a time. I am available full time from July 8-12th but after that I’m available on Thursdays, Saturday and Sunday full time. I work as a school teacher during the year, so I can help after school hours which is after 4:30pm. I am loving, patient, and respectful while watching your pets in my clients home. I love playing with them, can take them for walks, and cuddling with them. I am confident in schedules and crating the animals when needed and able to keep your animals safe and happy while you’re gone. I will love them and make sure they’re happy and healthy.
“Melanie did a great job watching our dog and taking care of our home over a long weekend! We were a bit nervous since our dog is very old and picky, but she took to Melanie quickly and Melanie made the whole process super easy. We received tons of cute photos throughout and we returned home to a happy pup and well taken care of home. We would absolutely recommend Melanie to others for all dog-sitting/house-sitting needs.”

“Tessah took amazing care of our pup while we were out of town. She provided constant updates and communication to help us feel at ease. I’d highly recommend her to anybody considering her services.”

“Madison was wonderful to our Sadie girl. We were nervous about leaving her because she's quite a bit older and has some health issues. Madison was great about giving her pill medication and she left our house so clean and tidy. Really thankful that she kept my girl safe, comfortable, and happy.”

“Taylor did a great job with all three of our dogs! He stayed in our home with them for several nights and was available on very short notice. He communicated regularly with us on how they were doing, asked questions about things he noticed while pet sitting, and sent pics every day. They were so well cared for I'm not sure they even missed us!”

“Mae was awesome. She was super communicative, clean, and took great care of my needy animals. We have two cats and two dogs, who are on meds and supplements and I knew they were in good hands with Mae. She sent great pictures and kept me updated/informed all week about what was going on. She’s amazing and I couldn’t recommend her enough!!”

“AWESOME!! Annelise was a doll, I will be calling on her again if I need someone to sit with my dogs. She is absolutely awesome. She’s very sweet person and she was good with my dogs. I did feel bad because she got caught in the storm on Saturday night and it was without power for a while. so the next time I need to go away and the sitter I will be calling on her. I hope she enjoyed my dogs as much as they enjoyed her even though Carter is a little shy.”

“I have nothing but amazing things to say about Mary! I have two dogs that require medications and someone to stay in home with them. Mary came over before my trip to meet them and make sure she knew everything that was required to take care of my girls! Throughout my time away, Mary was very communicative with pictures and was always giving me updates about how my dogs were doing. She was extremely sweet and loving toward my dogs and I would recommend her to anyone who is apprehensive about leaving their dogs.”

About: Growing up, my home was a zoo, as I had two cats, a dog, several fish, and a turtle! I've taken care of dogs and cats since I was 12 years old, petsitting for family, friends, neighbors, and more! Once I got my license, I started working as a petsitter more regularly with dogs and cats of every kind all over town! I have also worked a part-time summer job at a dog boarding facility since 2018. Here, I assist with daily facility operations and client communication and deliver attentive care by monitoring feeding schedules, exercise, safety, and overall wellbeing of the dogs. Looking forward to meeting and loving on your fur babies! I am a college student home for the summer and do not currently have a job. This means that I am very flexible and available to provide pet care in the Pinehurst area until I move back in on the 14th of August! I am used to waking up at 5:30 every morning, so I have plenty of time to get all my ToDo's done and work pet care into my schedule! Depending on individual client needs, I always prioritize safety, health, and overall well being of the pets I care for. I make sure to keep a watchful eye on your fur babies, walk or exercise them daily (with no extra charge), and feed them according to the schedule provided by their owners. I keep doors locked at all times, and make sure to treat the environment I am in with respect by keeping things tidy and neat. I also will love on and pet your fur babies and send lots of pictures to you so you can see what your pet is up to each day!
“Brittany was wonderful. This was the first time I have left my dog, Cookie, at home with a sitter. Brittany took great care of her. She also took good care of the house. I got pictures and updates every day which gave me a comfort level that all was well. Definitely recommend her.”

“I highly recommend Gabrielle! My Aussiedoodle, Ozzie, loves her. He’s 13, diabetic (2 shots/day), and is going blind. She is so kind to him and follows his daily regime to a tee. Gabrielle has kept Ozzie for an afternoon and overnight, too. We’ll definitely reach out to her again.”

“Ann was great! I was very nervous to leave my three dogs, but she took very good care of them! She stayed in our home to watch them. I highly recommend her and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Zoey was great. She made my fur baby Patches feel safe and secure. Zoey responded with texts and reassurance my dog was eating and running outside. I would highly recommend zoey. Everyone should have a sitter like her.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Taylortown
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Taylortown on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 387 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Taylortown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Taylortown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Taylortown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Taylortown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Taylortown. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
