“Sandra was great. She was especially good with our dog Ollie who is a rescue with trust issues. She took her time with him and was very gentle. By the end of the visit he was sitting right beside her wanting attention. She is very experienced with dogs and it shows.”

“Great energy! My dog absolutely loved her and it felt like he got all the attention he needed! Would definitely come back to Vicki to have her watch Kovu again!”

“This is our first time using Erika. We are 100% pleased and happy with every aspect of the job. I do have to state that I have a very very difficult job. We have seven cats with seven different needs and several different personalities. Erica did everything. I asked her to do. She is personable and kind. She is very very detailed with her pictures and her updates. She will even update if she’s going to be a little earlier or later than usual. We had to do some tweaking at the beginning of the job which she did not mind one bit. She even did things. I didn’t ask her to do like change certain water, fountains, and retrieve packages. I knew she would, though I really really love the updates. I loved knowing that my cats were very happy with her, taking care of them, which the pictures indicated. I already have her booked for a future reservation. Super happy I found such a gem!”

“Auntie Suzie took the time to walk Cooper all the way around the block again today! She is extremely reliable and punctual. She also changed Cooper's soiled bedding, fed Cooper his special diet, and checked to see if he spit out his medicine. I also asked her to help me monitor Cooper's behavior on his new pain medication. She communicates very effevtively. I swear I cannot state enough how so grateful and blessed we are that she is Cooper's sitter! I have developed such a piece of mind at work since Auntie Suzie started helping me with Cooper's care! Auntie Suzie met my mother per my mother's request, who was curious because I keep saying how amazing Auntie Suzie is and all she does for me and Coopy. Well, no surprise... my mother absolutely LOVES her! She told me how kind Auntie Suzie is, that my baby gets superb care, how she is also super happy Auntie Suzie is Cooper's sitter, and that COOPER GOT SOOOO EXCITED WHEN AUNTIE SUZIE GOT TO THE HOUSE!!! Cooper does NOT do that for just anyone, especially since he's lost so much of his hearing and sight! That shows me just what an incredible sitter I have. That also shows me Cooper must love her. And he fell in love with her so quickly! I admit, I am very impressed with the high quality care and customer service I receive.”

“Jessica had great communication and sent us some sweet pictures and updates of our dog when we were gone! Happy to know he was loved when we weren’t home. Thank you!!”

“Kassandra continually goes above and beyond every single time we go out of town, up to 3 weeks at a time. Our fur babies absolutely adore her as can be seen in the multiple photos she sends each visit. So thankful to have found her, we are repeat customers and will continue to use her for all of our pet needs as long as she’ll have us. ❤️❤️❤️”

“Chrissy took care of our 2 kitties over Thanksgiving and was absolutely wonderful. Great communication and took great care to ensure our kitties had plenty of stimulation and attention! Will hope to hire her again!”

About: I grew up taking care of my 2 collies and helping out with family members pets. I am experienced with managing large breeds and high energy dogs. I am currently on summer break from university, so I have a lot more free time. I am available on weekdays after 11 and weekends I have full availability. Once I return to school in late August, my schedule will change slightly. I’ll be available on weekdays after 1:30 PM and on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If I happen to get out of class early, I may also be available before 1:30 on some days. Safety is my top priority. I treat every pet as my own, maintaining a calm, clean, and safe environment. Ahead of time, I ask about any triggers your pet may have and make sure we walk in comfortable environments.
“Paula was great with our 2 pups. She did a meet and greet beforehand which was so nice! She was fantastic with them and brought over games to help engage them during her visits. The picture and notes after each visit were detailed and made us feel better about leaving our pups home knowing they were well taken care of.”

“They did an amazing job taking care of our big, needy German Shepherd! He’s basically a 90-pound toddler with fur and a very demanding list of needs, and they handled him like a pro. 😂 We came home to a happy, well-loved dog, which is all we could ask for. We really appreciated the care, patience, and attention they gave him. We’d absolutely trust them with our furry drama king again!”

“We are so impressed with Brooke and the wonderful care she provided for our pup, Bob! She is sweet, reliable, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future. We highly recommend Brooke to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their pets!”

About: I have lived with large dogs my entire life and have been put in charge of caring for them overnight and long periods of time for about 10 years. I have experience training dogs and have exceptional patience in every aspect of pet care. I live with three large dogs currently- which includes feeding (early morning and mid evening,) walks, and various other care needs - so I am more than capable of caring for animals at whatever time needed. I am good with slow introductions for anxious animals, and proficient with acclimating and calming down hyper animals. I have excellent skill in reading animals’ body language and curating according responses.

“Stephanie was great! We have two crazy dogs with a lot of energy so it was great that Stephanie was so flexible with her schedule so the dogs weren't cooped up in the house all day. She fed them and let them run around in the yard. I will definitely have her come by again in the future!”

About: I have been dog sitting or walking for the last seven years. Also, I worked for a dog daycare for about 2 years. I'm experienced in giving medication and getting stubborn dogs to eat their food. I'm comfortable walking any size or breed of dog. I will be available through the summer and possibly during the school year. The daily or weekly care depends on how many pets I'm caring for at a time. Between the end of August to the beginning of May, I can sit on the weekends. I do require a meeting with owners and the dogs before I dog sit. I'm comfortable to come to my clients home to care for them. If that is taking for a walk or just spending some time with them. I have two friendly beagles that love anyone and a fenced in back yard. I do have a crate of it is need.
“Katelyn is awesome! Great communication and asked questions if needed. Sent photos to us and so we felt relieved that our dog was being well taken care of. Thank you!”

I am available most times during the week and all day on weekends for walks. I also offer boarding at my home in a large neighborhood with a 2 mile walking path! My 13-year-old son loves helping me with the animals and would love to join me for walks/visits (but only if you are comfortable with it)! We love taking dogs for long walks and helping keep them occupied with play time. During boarding, your animal would be spoiled and loved! I want you to feel as comfortable as possible when I'm taking care of your pet! I am available mostly in the mornings and late afternoon/evenings during the week (but have some midday flexibility) and all day on weekends! Megan was absolutely fantastic! She went above and beyond in caring for our cats and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She was communicative, thoughtful, and clearly cared about making sure everything was perfect. It's obvious she genuinely loves animals, and they loved her right back. We came home to happy cats and a well-cared-for home, which means the world to us. I wouldn't hesitate to book Megan again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and exceptional sitter. Thank you, Megan, for everything!

Alexa was wonderful and communicating how our babies were doing. She sent lots of pictures and took the time to actually love on them not just feed them and leave. Our girls really seemed to enjoy her company as well. We would definitely highly recommend Alexa’s services!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
