Compassionate Animal Lover

Animals have been a huge part of my life since I was a young kid. My family rescued dogs and cats and I've continued that trend into adulthood. There are few things more important to me than rescuing animals and showing them that life can be so beautiful and that there are people who are capable of loving and caring for them unconditionally.

Safety, trust & environment

Trust is everything. Loyalty and integrity are an important part of it. You may be hesitant to invite someone into your home to take care of your animals while you are away, and I completely understand that and have the same feelings myself. I am inherently motivated to not only meet your animal's basic needs, but to provide them with warmth, love, consideration, appreciation, and nurturing care. I also have the experience and gut instinct necessary to truly connect with them and ensure their emotional needs are fulfilled. Your instructions are very important to me and help me understand how to best take care of your home and best friend. They also help me get to know them ahead of time. I am definitely comfortable caring for animals that need extra care and attention. I don't shy away from these kinds of jobs. I am also open to negotiating my prices if necessary.

Riley was great with our pups. Very loving, caring, responsible for added pup needs and sent daily updates with photos. I could tell our dogs loved being with her. Highly recommended Riley.

Very happy with Riley. This was a very difficult situation with one dog being 1 week post surgery. Riley took very good care of her in addition to the other dog.

Riley is all about the animals. She provided excellent care for our three cats while we were on a nine day vacation. She makes an effort to send photo updates which we appreciated. The cats clearly enjoyed her stay!

Riley took wonderful care of our 2 dogs and worked with us to set up a few pre visits to get them (and us) comfortable with her before our trip!

Schedule

I work from home and have a pretty flexible schedule. On most days I would be able to walk your dog (or cat) at any time and hang out with them most of the day. I make a point to stay with them a lot. While pet sitting, I will usually be at your home with your animals for 20 hours of the day, at least. Some days I won't leave. It is standard practice for me to take the dogs I take care of for multiple long walks a day, depending on what they can handle. It is possible that one day during the stay, depending on how long it is, I will want to go out and do something for 5 hours or so. We can discuss what's important to you as far as hours go over message or when we meet. If your animal(s) can't be alone for more than 2 1/2 hours per day and you want to hire me, you'll have to hire me for "constant care," which is more expensive. There's a bit of a gray area if you don't want me to leave for more than 2 hours at a time or more than 3 hours per day. Depending on the circumstances, I may charge a higher fee then too, but it likely won't be much.

What is your companion animal's personality like? What is their temperament on walks? What do they need to be comfortable, happy, and fulfilled? What do you usually do with them on a day-to-day basis? What quirks or special needs does your pet have? Is there anything unusual that "triggers" them?
