“Kelly was fantastic with our playful boy Moose! She and her family are so sweet, plus their older pups, for keeping up with our guy. She sent many updates throughout the day and our pup came home happy and tired. Would 100% recommend and plan to have him visit again in the future.”

“Our pup Charli gets so excited when we pull up in front of Savannahs house, it’s too cute but also eases our mind knowing that we are leaving her some place she enjoys so much!”

“Sonia is absolutely amazing — truly the best sitter I’ve ever had. She gave constant, thoughtful updates and showed so much love, care, and attention to my pup. She even accommodated me last minute, which meant the world. She exercises my dog and treats her like her own. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such good hands. Thank you so much, Sonia”

“Jackie was great. She gave my wife and I a tour of her home where our dog Lulu would be playing with Jackie's 5 other dogs, so Lulu has plenty of furiends to interact with! Jackie has a good sized yard (+/- 30' x 40') of just artificial turf for the pups to romp on and a doggie door for the dogs to go in/out as they need to. Lulu seems to enjoy her stays at Jackie's and comes home tired from playing...which is the point of daycare!”

“Deanna and family were amazing with Toby and they were super flexible with our situation. I would take Toby to them for Day Care and/or Boarding when we are back in the area.”

About: I'm a stay-at-home, homeschooling mother of four, and I have one dog (yellow lab mix) and two cats! I love animals and since we are home majority of the time, your pet will have ample love, attention, and care. MY entire downstairs is tile and we have a backyard, so puppies still needing house training would be acceptable. I'm happy to walk/run with dogs, care for cats, come to your home to do check ins, whatever you're looking for, just ask! I have taken care of animals for family, and I appreciate any details or notes you have so I can provide the very best quality of care for your individual pet. I am home majority of the day with my kids. I have young kids ages 5-11 and I homeschool, so we are home most of the time. I take our dog on a walk or run in the morning around 7am or earlier, and again in the evening if the weather is nice. I have plenty of time for loving and caring for your pet! I offer care in our home, or in yours depending on your needs. Your pet will be exercised, fed, watered, loved, played with, cleaned up after, and all around cared for and adored. I can only provide care to animals who are okay with children and other pets, to keep everyone safe from natural pet instincts to protect themselves. My children have been taught to use only gentle and loving hands with slow approach with adult supervision. In the event we need to leave the house I do require kenneling for dogs if they are known to chew/scratch. I am happy to provide pictures and updates, so that you can rest assured your pet is happy and thriving while you are away.
About: I've lived with dogs all of my life. Friends and family have relied on me and my wife to take care of their pets many times. We have done it all, from bathing and walks to giving medication. We have a Shar Pei, Labrador mix, Nova, and she is the sweetest, non-aggressive, playful dog you'll meet. Nova gets bi-weekly social dog training so she is comfortable with new dogs and people. We would love to care for dogs that are also comfortable with children as we have two young kids. They are both comfortable with dogs and respectful of their space and varying needs. I work full-time from home and my wife works part-time. We have plenty of time to play with your pup and keep them feeling loved. We give frequent potty breaks, but please let us know if you have a specific potty schedule. We offer a lot of play time and our backyard is the best for fetch. We are available weekdays and most weekends. We look forward to taking care of your day care and boarding needs. We have a very large, fenced yard for the dogs to run and play that includes a huge grass area. We can accommodate any special exercise requests, such as walking schedules. We have two crates in our home that are available for our guests to use, but we encourage you to bring anything that may help your dog feel the most comfortable. We'd be happy to accommodate space for these items. We love to know how your dog likes to play and any special needs they may have so that we may make it the most comfortable stay for them...a home away from home!
“This was our first time using Vicki and as soon as we got there we were very impressed by the cleanliness and organization. She has a beautiful backyard that our dogs loved. We could tell right away that she was a dog lover. We are from out of town and we’re looking for someone to watch our dogs when we wanted to go to a game or do something without our babies. She was the perfect fit for us. Thank you Vicki for making us and our pups feel so comfortable with you. I would give 10 stars if I could.”

“Michelle was wonderful, sent us pics and very observant of our special needs pup. Charli loved playing with her pup Harley! It was so funny, Charli walked in like she’d been there a million times and really I think Harley was more excited to see me at the end of the day than pur our own dog! 😂”

“Dina is such a wonderful caregiver! Lucy and Stella truly enjoy their time at her house. They are always so well cared for and come home happy and tired which tells me they’ve had the best day.”

“Thanks to Kim for always being available when we need a sitter for my Blair! Not only does she take care of her very well, she also sends plenty of pictures/videos of my furball playing at the dog park! Would definitely recommend.”
About: I have been taking care of pets of all kinds my entire life. I have always had dogs and cats in our home. Currently we have a Golden Retriever, Piper, and A long Haired Siamese, Kylo, in our home. Over the last 30 years we have had 5 Golden retrievers, sometimes multiple at once, and 4 cats. Dogs and Cats give me great pleasure and are ultra important in my life. If you are a dog and cat lover then you are my kind of people. I have just recently retired and this is the perfect gig for me. They get Walked, I get walked, They Play, I play, They get loved, I get loved. I have experience with puppies, kittens, Young dogs and senior dogs. Young cats, and senior cats. I will meet the needs of your fur family and take great care. Since I am retired now, I have full availability for you and your pets. Drop-In visits, feeding, potty breaks, play time, dog walking, in-house sitting, or boarding in our home. Whatever your needs are, I am available. Give me a try. You will be very pleased. As I mentioned earlier, I have just recently retired and am a High energy completely dependable person for you and your pets. I am available at all times and days of the week. I'm perfect for this... We will develop a long term relationship so I can be there for you whenever you travel or need to be away. Your pets will get to know me and feel comfortable and won't stress when you are gone. I think it's important for pets to be in a place that they are familiar with in your home or my home. It's far better than taking them anywhere else. If friends are supposed to come over and take care of your babies, they may run over just before you get home and will not give you the care you hoped for. We know, as this has happened to us. Also, kennels are the worst. Never take them them there. I'm your guy and you will be very pleased with my service and attentiveness. Give me a try

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Waddell
I am fully new to the whole Doggy Day Care experience and Melodie was perfect! She understood my situation, and went with my puppy's pace and comfort level. I appreciated her sending me little updates regarding her progress during the day as well. She was also quick to respond as soon as I reached out to her if needed. I would definitely recommend and use Melodie again when the time comes.

Michelle and her boys took such good care of our dog, Ellie. Ellie played all day with their dog and kids and had a blast! Michelle sent multiple updates throughout the day with how she was doing which was greatly appreciated. We'll definitely book again soon!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Waddell commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,668 sitters in Waddell, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
