“I can’t thank Taylor enough for always going the extra mile for my babies, I’m super grateful to have him watch them when I’m away. He is very communicative, prompt and of course the pups love him! Thank you for everything, we are blessed to have you around!”

“Annabelle did a great job taking care of my little ones! She was able to meet me on short notice and kept them happy while I was out on an out of town emergency.”

“Cass took good care of our cat! She went above and beyond to make sure she was safe, well fed and loved. I appreciated how she helped with bringing mail and packages in.”

“Tara was awesome! I’ve used her help multiple times now… found her last minute through Rover and quite grateful I did! I travel quite a bit, and relocated, so having to find someone new that I trust to come into my home when I’m not there, isn’t always the easiest! Highly recommend her! She’s awesome!!”

“Barbara has been excellent! I contacted her on short notice and she was available to look in on my 3 kitties for a few days. She sent the best pics and even saw my shy girl twice (which is a feat). I will be using her services again and I highly recommend her.”

About: I have grown up with animals in my home ever since I was young. I’ve cared for many types of animals including dogs, cats, birds, rodents, reptiles, etc! Animals are one of my true passions and I love to work with them :) I currently have very flexible availability and would be willing to accommodate a variety of schedule requests. Please message me with any specific questions about myself or my schedule. I am unable to bring any cats or dogs into my home for pet sitting purposes. I would love to visit an owner’s space to help take care of their pets in the most comfortable environment possible. I find this is less stressful for both your fur babies and for mine.
“Flavia was an excellent sitter for Midnight. Midnight is a senior dog and does not favor many people. Flavia and Midnight connected right away. Highly recommend her for your pet and will most definitely request her again.”

About: I’m a mom to 4 rambunctious children and 1 kid friendly chihuahua(14) and 1 loving husky pit mix(1). When most people meet my dog they are surprised at how friendly he is and how good he is with our young children. We used to have two dogs but we had to put older one down due to seizures and brain issues. In high school I worked in an army veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant for a cooperative work experience program. My original plan in life was to be a veterinarian but after having to assist with some tough cases I decided just being a good pet owner and caregiver was more my speed. I’m a full time stay at home mom and love playing with my dogs and kids in my spare time. I’d love to help you care for your fur baby as well. I’m pretty flexible. I’m home days once I get my kids get off to school during the day. In the evenings and on weekends I take them to their respective practices or games but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time to care for and give your fur baby some love as well. I like to take my fur babies for about a mile walk in the morning and then my younger pup will go on another half mile walk with me in the after noon. My older guys stays home and chills but he gets lots of love and snuggles at home.

About: I have owned dogs for most of my life. My experience ranges from small/mini dog breeds to large labradors. I love all types of dogs! I have house sat for multi dog houses and love to take dogs on walks. I work from home, so I thankfully have some flexibility. I am available M-F anytime between 12 and 2. I can potentially do other times M-F, but have a little less flexibility. Feel free to ask about if I'm available. I'm available again M-F after 5. Saturdays I an available all day and Sundays I am available after 12 I always try to keep them within eye sight. I make sure their energy gets out since a tired dog is a happy dog. Lastly, I ensure they get endless pets and snuggles (if they like snuggles)
“My 3 cats love having Ari come visit! They can be difficult - refusing to take their meds, or playing an epic game of hide and seek; but she always takes great care of them when I’m gone. Thanks for the amazing work, as always!”

About: I have been taking care of my family & friends pups since I can remember and enjoy every second! I have worked with puppies less than 8 weeks of age all the way to senior dogs of 16 years and up! I have experience with working with multiple dogs at once and have one dog of my own who I treat like my child and spoil very much! My schedule changes every week but I only work three days a week so I am pretty flexible and am willing to adhere to any needs! I will make sure to keep a clean and safe space for your pets and always make sure they are taken for a bathroom break in a routinely manner! We will have plenty of time for play but also time to rest when the time comes to it!

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats of all ages since I was 13. I am also certified in pet first aid and CPR. I work from home which allows me to have the flexibility to do drop-in visits multiple times in a day and keeps me open to do pet care over the weekend. I handle all pets with respect. I make sure the space is safe for them. Including access to clean water and toys to play with under supervision.

About: I have lived with dogs and cats all my life! I also worked with a veterinarian clinic/doggy day care for four years, so I understand most breed’s temperaments and behaviors. I can work with all ages and most breeds, and I will happily accommodate to your pets needs. I do work full-time, but I work from home Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be available all day. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I will not be home from 8am to 4pm. I am usually available most weekends. I live in an apartment, but I have a partially fenced in yard so your pet will have easy access outside. My apartment community is very large and has plenty of walking areas, so your pet can be active and not cooped up inside all day. I do have a dog and a cat, both of which are very friendly and have no issues with other pets. I can crate your pet as well as administer medication if needed
“Summer was AMAZING with my pups. She is so detailed in her notes and takes lots of pictures! It is clear that she loooves the dogs she watches and puts lots of effort into making them feel loved while you are away! She is great with communication and flexible! We will definitely be booking with Summer again.”

“My Frenchies LOVE Susan. And they are very picky with who they love:) Susan takes such great care of them and always sends photos and updates on how they are doing. We will certainly be rebooking with Susan!”
“Brady was fantastic - great communication and plenty of photos of our girl! Especially appreciate the last-minute flexibility when our return home was unexpectedly delayed. 10/10! Thank you Brady!!”

About: I’ve been dog sitting since I was in high school! I had three dogs growing up, always had roommates with dogs and I just watched a friends dog for over a year while he looked for a place that allowed dogs. We have a large fenced yard with LOTS of room to run around and play. I’m currently a stay at home mom so I’m home to let dogs out as needed and allow them to not be crated all day! I’m home with my baby 6 days a week so I’m able to let your dog out as often as they need and we can go on walks as often as needed as well. I have a fenced in yard and a small relaxed dog here that loves to snuggle. We allow the dogs on our couch and when they aren’t resting we have an expansive, grass filled yard for the dogs to play. Dogs can either sleep in a crate or on a dog bed in our room with us. We also have a sunny back deck that our dog loves to sun bathe on!

Karen was so amazing! I had a last minute request, and I’m so thankful I found her. She sent plenty of photos and walked and fed my girl well. When we had to exchange keys again after I was back home, Wiggy was so excited she went and grabbed a tennis ball to play with her again! I definitely recommend Karen and plan to book her again! 😊

Kati was great. We had a last second need for a dog sitter & Kati was willing to step in and help out. Right off the bat both Sadie & Tippy gravitated to Kati. She was very attentive to their needs and made sure they were well taken care of. I would most definitely recommend Kati to anyone who is need of a dog/cat sitter. She is absolutely great.

I had a great experience with Mark ! My dog can be a little sleepy during the day due to her medication, but she seemed very comfortable and well cared for. I appreciated the updates and attention she received. It was clear she was relaxed and in good hands. Communication was excellent, and I felt confident knowing she was being looked after with kindness and patience. I would definitely book again and highly recommend Mark's services to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Thank you for taking such good care of my little Lulu ! 🐾

Brian has visited Zoey and Luna every day for a week. He allows them to continue with their normal routine and they are happy just sitting on the deck with him. In the pictures, Zoey and Luna are in their happy places, I would expect to find them. Thanks Brian for giving them love in my absence. And I appreciate your flexibility.

Ana was wonderful with Buddy while we were away! She was reliable, communicative, and gave us so much peace of mind during our trip. Buddy can be very picky and set in his routines, and Ana was incredibly patient and caring with him. We truly appreciated the updates, attention, and care she provided throughout the week. It made it so much easier for us to relax knowing he was being looked after so well. We’re very grateful for all of her help and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and dependable pet sitter. 💛

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
