About: Hi! I’m a dependable dog lover and proud owner of two dogs, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust. I’ll treat your pet like one of my own, making sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and love. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and comfort are my top priorities, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away. I’m flexible and will do my best to accommodate your schedule. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, feeding, playtime, or some extra attention while you’re away, I’m committed to providing reliable and loving care. As the owner of two dogs, I know every pet has unique needs and routines. I’ll follow your care instructions closely, make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable, and treat them with the same love and patience I give my own dogs. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Venie was very communicative and even came over to meet my cat, Julian before we went out of town. And she was sweet to Julian as well. I really appreciated it! Would use her again!”
“Varsha was amazing. We and our 2 cats connected with her immediately at our Meet and Greet. We ended up chatting for almost 2 hours! She’s so easy to talk with and is so knowledgeable about cats. Our girls immediately liked her and kept asking for pets and attention. Varsha followed our feeding instructions perfectly and was on time for every visit. She sent lots of pictures and was able to navigate the security system at our complex without any issues. Best of all, our cats were well fed and seemed calm and content even though we were gone for 4 days. We will definitely connect with Varsha the next time we need to travel.”

“We are so thankful to Mackenzie for the wonderful care she gave Pebbles and Bear! It was such a relief knowing they were in good hands while we were away. We were especially happy to hear that they finally got more comfortable and used to Mackenzie. We also really appreciated getting to know Mackenzie along the way. We got back home yesterday, and both Pebbles and Bear were happy to see us—which made us happy too! I always hate having to leave them for that long, so knowing they were well cared for made the trip much easier. Thank you again, Mackenzie, for taking such great care of our fur babies. We truly appreciate you and look forward to staying in touch!”

“Kim is amazing with our three kitties! They are so comfortable with her which always puts us at ease when we travel. She is a great communicator and sends the best pictures. Thanks so much, Kim!!”

About: I have owned dogs for most of my life. My experience ranges from small/mini dog breeds to large labradors. I love all types of dogs! I have house sat for multi dog houses and love to take dogs on walks. I work from home, so I thankfully have some flexibility. I am available M-F anytime between 12 and 2. I can potentially do other times M-F, but have a little less flexibility. Feel free to ask about if I'm available. I'm available again M-F after 5. Saturdays I an available all day and Sundays I am available after 12 I always try to keep them within eye sight. I make sure their energy gets out since a tired dog is a happy dog. Lastly, I ensure they get endless pets and snuggles (if they like snuggles)
About: I've grown up surrounded by pets whether they have been my own or someone else's. In fact I can't remember a single segment of my life where I didn't have a family pet to care for and look after. Each animal comes with their own unique needs and interests and I'm willing to meet them where they're at and cater to all of their quirks. I've dealt with puppies and senior dogs so I don't mind cleaning up a few messes. I've had dogs of my own who were calm rambunctious or somewhere in between so I truly do love em all. While I do have more experience with dogs, I also have a precious cat of my own and am more than comfortable looking after your sweet (or not so sweet, like mine) cat. I am a college student and I do work, but I am available anytime Monday-Thursday and after 5pm on Weekends. Please reach out if you are interested in any overnight stays so we can discuss availability. I am comfortable catering to your pets needs. I am comfortable with any necessary meal preparation, walks throughout the neighborhood and potty breaks, and crating the pet if needed. I am also okay with administering medication if needed.

About: I have my own love for animals for a while, caring for animals and understanding their different behaviors, I have taken care of horse and donkeys from rehabilitation, I’ve had my cat, Boots, for 4 years, so I’ve learned how to read cat behavior and understand that cats can be more sensitive and harder to read than dogs. I’m patient, attentive, and always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already care for my own cat, Boots, every day. I make time for feeding, cleaning, playtime, and giving pets attention so they feel comfortable and cared for. I care for pets by ensuring they are safe and comfortable. I adhere to the routine that the owner provides. While I am in a client’s home, I respect their space. I make certain the pets are in a tidy environment. I observe the pets carefully to understand their behavior and needs. This allows me to provide a safe and secure environment.
“Nicole is Amazing at what she does!! We feel so lucky to have found such wonderful care for our pup! She is understanding, quick to communicate and trustworthy. She is purposeful with how she allocates time in each visit and was very attentive to my pup’s medicine needs and toddler personality. I came home to happy, content fur babies! Will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I’ve been with dogs and loved them since I can remember and I have had two of my own. I love spending time taking care of them, playing with them, feeding them, etc. If anything this is more of a joy to take care of them! :D I am very much available except for weekdays from 9:30-1:30 due to college classes. Other than that I am more than happy to watch your pet, check in on them, or take them for a walk. Unfortunately I can not house them due to my relative being slightly allergic. I have no concern doing anything asked for dogs even if it’s a strict schedule or routine. I know how some dogs need strict routines for example with feeding.

“It was such a piece of mind to have Suzie look after our fur babies. She did such a wonderful job, even though our two cats hid from her 😆. I would hire her again in an instant.”

I currently am a undergraduate student at Kennesaw state university, and go to classes two days out of the week beyond that I’m pretty flexible! I have 3 dogs: two Aussie doodles and a chihuahua! Majority of this July I’m completely free as I’m home for part of the summer from College. I’m very flexible and easy to work with. “Evelyn was fantastic! We have two huge wrestling maniacs and we thought they would be quite a challenge for her (anyone out of us) but she was able to maintain her composure and they now love her! She was truly great and so sweet and gentle with them. Thank you so much Evelyn! We appreciate your help! :)”

Jace took amazing care of my cat Sadie when I had to make an unexpected trip out of town. Jace made sure that Sadie had plenty of food, water, treats, pets and playtime while I was away. Very grateful for her service- I highly recommend her and would definitely book her again!

Trace did a great job coordinating with us on times and was attentive to the instructions we left for our cats. He sent us daily updates and seemed to be able to give attention to our cats with very different personalities in the way they needed. Really appreciate Trace being a cat owner so he understands how to adapt to cats personalities! Would definitely use again.

Susan took amazing care of my pets while I was gone on an extended trip. Her care made the difference between being able to relax and enjoy myself or spending my vacation wracked with worry about my cats. Susan gets my absolute highest recommendation. I will be booking her again. Wonderful pet sitter who had my cats out and purring!

TJ was great with my two fur babies - we have 2 younger cats, 1 is disabled. She came to our home beforehand to see everything and get to know the cats. She was also very professional before we even met her in person and was willing to answer all of my questions/provide references. For the pet sitting, she was always on time, stayed the full time (usually a few minutes longer!) and let me know when my disabled cat received medication so I didn't have to stress when we were out of town. She followed all instructions and was thorough with her own questionnaire, and made sure to understand completely what was needed. She was also willing to assist with our disabled cat's special needs (sometimes he has accidents, and she was willing to help him if needed). He's also scared of unknown people, and can be a grouch, but TJ knew how to give him his space and still get everything done. We are incredibly appreciative of her help, thank you TJ for being a great sitter!!

We’re happy to have Nicole return for the second time this weekend! She is extremely punctual, trustworthy, and communicative. We received a ton of great photos and we enjoyed looking at all of them! She would update or question if something felt abnormal with the animals to ensure nothing was wrong which was appreciated! We were able to step away for the weekend in peace knowing we left our two cats in her care. We will feel comfortable leaving again knowing we can count on someone like Nicole! We can’t wait to have her back in the future. Thank you Nicole!

I absolutely loved working with Charlotte!!! She has amazing communication skills and always keeps me updated, which gave me so much peace of mind. She treats my baby with so much love, patience, and care, and I could tell Brooklynn was completely comfortable with her. Charlotte is dependable, trustworthy, and truly goes above and beyond. I felt confident knowing my baby was in great hands the entire time. I will definitely continue booking with her in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their fur baby like their own! 💕🐾

Chiamaka did a great job with taking care of Challa! During our meet and greet, she did not actually get a chance to meet him as my cat can be scared of strangers at first but looks like Challa started to warm up to her nicely! I especially appreciate her flexibility to add on additional visits last minute. When I came back, the cat area was clean and litter box in good shape so she did exactly what I requested. She also communicates in a timely manner, which is very important. I'll definitely book her again for my Challa

We can’t thank you enough for taking such wonderful care of our dog. It was clear that our dog was happy, comfortable, and truly well cared for during the entire stay. Your kindness and attention gave our family complete peace of mind, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you did. Without a doubt, you will be our first choice the next time we need someone to care for our dog. Thank you again for everything!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
