“We are so thankful to Mackenzie for the wonderful care she gave Pebbles and Bear! It was such a relief knowing they were in good hands while we were away. We were especially happy to hear that they finally got more comfortable and used to Mackenzie. We also really appreciated getting to know Mackenzie along the way. We got back home yesterday, and both Pebbles and Bear were happy to see us—which made us happy too! I always hate having to leave them for that long, so knowing they were well cared for made the trip much easier. Thank you again, Mackenzie, for taking such great care of our fur babies. We truly appreciate you and look forward to staying in touch!”

“You want someone to truely love your babies. This is a very true loving lady. She is worth every penny. Even my neighbors are wanting her number. Get her before she is no longer available.”

About: I have owned dogs for most of my life. My experience ranges from small/mini dog breeds to large labradors. I love all types of dogs! I have house sat for multi dog houses and love to take dogs on walks. I work from home, so I thankfully have some flexibility. I am available M-F anytime between 12 and 2. I can potentially do other times M-F, but have a little less flexibility. Feel free to ask about if I'm available. I'm available again M-F after 5. Saturdays I an available all day and Sundays I am available after 12 I always try to keep them within eye sight. I make sure their energy gets out since a tired dog is a happy dog. Lastly, I ensure they get endless pets and snuggles (if they like snuggles)

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is my lifelong love for animals, my hands-on experience, and my ability to care for pets of all sizes, breeds, personalities, and temperaments! 🐾❤️ I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and have always had a special place in my heart for both cats and dogs. Since I was 14, I’ve gained experience with pet sitting, dog walking, and working at doggy daycare facilities. During my time at doggy daycares, I’ve cared for everything from large Great Danes and energetic Pit Bull mixes to tiny pups with big personalities! These experiences have taught me how to understand different behaviors, recognize body language, and provide safe, attentive care. I’m also very comfortable caring for multiple animals at once! Whether you have several dogs, multiple cats, or a household with both, I’m happy to help. My doggy daycare experience has taught me how to manage different personalities, energy levels, and routines while making sure every animal receives the individual attention, patience, and love they deserve. I also have a special love for cats, especially those who may be shy, fearful, independent, or a little temperamental! Growing up, I’ve helped feral cats gradually become comfortable living indoors as loving house cats. Through those experiences, I’ve learned that earning an animal’s trust takes time, consistency, kindness, and patience. If your kitty is a little feisty, nervous around strangers, or prefers their personal space, that’s perfectly okay! I understand how to recognize signs of stress, respect boundaries, and allow them to become comfortable with me at their own pace. The same goes for dogs who may be anxious, energetic, or need a little extra reassurance. I believe what truly makes me different is that I don’t expect every animal to behave the same way. Every pet has their own personality, comfort level, and needs, and I take the time to understand what makes them feel safe and happy. I’m experienced with feeding, dog walking, playtime, litter box cleaning and maintenance, maintaining routines, and providing companionship. I also offer house-sitting services, so your pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment while I make sure your home is respected, tidy, and well cared for. Above all, I’m reliable, dependable, patient, and genuinely passionate about animals. Whether you have one cuddly kitty, a house full of energetic pups, or a mix of furry personalities, I’ll do my very best to make sure everyone feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Your pets are family, and I promise to treat them with the same kindness, patience, and love that I give my own! 🐶🐱💕 I’m currently attending school online, which gives me flexibility with my schedule and allows me to accommodate different pet care needs! I’m always happy to discuss availability and find a schedule that works best for you and your furry family members! 💖 When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their familiar environment! I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and individual needs, so I always do my best to follow their usual schedule, whether that includes feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, potty breaks, or plenty of cuddles! I’m also very respectful of my clients’ homes and will make sure everything stays clean, tidy, and well cared for while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your beloved pets and your home. Communication is extremely important to me! I’ll happily provide regular updates, pictures, and messages throughout my visits so you can see how your furry family members are doing. Whether they’re enjoying a walk, playing with their favorite toys, or relaxing at home, I want you to feel reassured knowing they’re happy and receiving plenty of love and attention. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible, knowing your pets and home are in caring, reliable, and dependable hands! 🐶🐱❤️
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for the people closest to me in my life. Whenever a friend or family member goes on a trip I’m usually the person they call to take care of their pet. I have experience watching dogs and cats from young puppies/kittens to senior cats/dogs. I’m comfortable giving medicine and treat the animal I’m caring for as if they’re my own. Pet care is a consistent part of my daily routine. I make sure my pets are fed on schedule, have access to fresh water, and receive regular attention and exercise. I keep their living areas clean, monitor their behavior and eating habits, and make sure they receive the care they need. On a weekly basis, I take care of additional cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure they have everything they need. I prioritize their well being while balancing my other responsibilities, so their care remains consistent and reliable. I provide reliable care by following feeding schedules, ensuring pets have fresh water, keeping their spaces clean, and giving them plenty of exercise, playtime, and affection. I follow each pet’s specific needs and the owner’s instructions.
About: I love taking care of animals. I know taking care of pets and balancing a job can be hard, so I’m happy to help. I’m currently in school and have lots of time to spend with your pets! I also do not have a pet of my own so I’m excited to get my fulfillment of all this doggie love from all of you!! I will be working part time and in school, so I have plenty of time to take your dogs on walks or even watch them for a weekend get away! I will make sure to maintain your regular schedule and follow all instructions you have for the care of your pet. I will pour all my love into the care of your animal.
“I was very nervous to leave my senior cat Nicky in the care of someone other than family for the first time however Mindy took excellent care of her while I was away. She was very prompt and timely and sent photos to let me know Nicky was doing ok. Nicky was in great condition when I arrived back. I will be booking with Mindy again in the future and recommend her services!”

“Diana was wonderful and thorough! I felt completely at ease leaving her with the care of my cats. The updates/photos each visit were very nice and everything was left clean and in order. I would book again!”

“Terry was fantastic! Followed all our instructions, sent the cutest photos and left the house perfect. It isn't easy to find a good pet sitter but specially not someone good with cats and Terry was GREAT! She will be my go to for my future travel. Thank you for everything Terry!!”

About: Hi! I’ve always loved animals and have had dogs basically my whole life. I’ve grown up with all kinds of dogs, from tiny, super energetic puppies to bigger dogs who love to pull on the leash lol, so I’m pretty comfortable with different personalities and energy levels. I also currently have a cat, so I’m definitely comfortable with cats too! I genuinely just love being around animals and getting to know their little personalities. I know every pet is different, so I’m happy to follow whatever routine, instructions, or preferences your pet is used to. I’d love to be someone you can trust to take care of your pets and give them lots of attention and love while you’re away! 🐾 I am currently working for myself, so my schedule is super flexible! I would love to accommodate to you and your baby’s needs. I am typically available on Monday-Sunday from 8am-10pm. I love a good hike! :) I am Pet CPR and First Aid certified and will treat your pets as if they are my own! I am open to communication on how YOU would love for me to care for your pet!
“Chloe is amazing! She was very communicative and went above and beyond all expectations. She was also willing and accommodating when I extended my vacation. She’s definitely someone I will rebook with Rover for Truman! Thanks so much, Chloe!”

“Madison was great and went above and beyond during her visits. Our Cat Mocha is doing great and things are in order, we did not have any issues or questions . We will definitely keep her in mind for the upcoming trips/plan, as well as refer her to others. We really appreciate Madison's help. The whole process was very smooth. Thanks Rover and Madison!”

“I've booked Kaylee many times and will continue to do so. Her communication is excellent--she responds promptly whether she can accept the job or not. The dogs seem to love her too! They look so happy in the pics she sends. Trustworthiness is everything.”

About: My parents have a 10-year-old husky who I help care for when I'm visiting them. I've taken her on long walks and stayed with her alone overnight. I generally work full-time Monday-Friday, but since I work from home, I often have flexibility with my schedule. Weekends are pretty open for me as well. My cat is indoor only, so I'm very conscious of opening and closing doors. If I need to leave her alone for an extended period of time, I ensure that she has adequate food and water as well as a clean litter box.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was about nine or 10 years old, less in the caregiver since until I was an adult, I now have two dogs and love them dearly. I also enjoy working for Wag!, which I have worked for almost 10 years on and off with a perfect five star rating in many many great reviews. my daily routine includes taking care of a my older dogs, and my cat. I include them in all my plans to make sure they are always taken care of. I always consider them as an extension of the family and their needs are always my priority. I tried to tackle things head on and make sure that their needs are met before my own.
About: Hi I’m Aniya! I think what sets me apart is how much I actually enjoy getting to know each dog instead of treating every visit the same. Some dogs want to run around and play the whole time, while others would rather sit next to you and get belly rubs 😂. I’m good with either! I’m very patient & caring with animals! growing up my family always had dogs and cats, even birds! so I always had such a strong love for them and just being around them. I’m currently a college student so my classes are Monday through Thursday from 12–5pm. Im also I a part-time worker in retail! I usually only get scheduled 2-3 times a week & I hope to use my free days to get to spend time with all of these adorable pups! I’ve been around dogs my whole life and had a dog for 14 years. She recently passed away and was truly my best friend, so I know firsthand how much our pets mean to us and how hard it can be to leave them with someone else. Because of her, I’ve learned how important it is to be patient with dogs, give them plenty of attention, respect their personalities, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I’m currently a student esthetician, so I’m used to being patient and paying attention to the little details. I’d love to give your fur babies the same care and attention I would give my own! Whether they want to play, go for a walk, get some cuddles, or just relax, I’m happy to follow their routine and make sure they feel right at home. I’m so excited to meet everyone’s fur babies and get to know their little personalities! 🐶💕

“Tara was awesome! I’ve used her help multiple times now… found her last minute through Rover and quite grateful I did! I travel quite a bit, and relocated, so having to find someone new that I trust to come into my home when I’m not there, isn’t always the easiest! Highly recommend her! She’s awesome!!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life, and I currently have one amazing pup of my own! My love for dogs naturally turned into a career—I started out doing dog- and housesitting for years, eventually moving into a kennel role handling boarding and basic grooming. Now, as a Veterinary Technician, I get to combine my lifelong hands-on experience with professional clinical knowledge to make sure every dog I meet is happy, healthy, and well-cared for. As a veterinary technician, animal care is my full-time passion. I work manageable 7-hour shifts, meaning your pets will never be alone for extended periods. My daily routine involves early morning care and walks before my shift, and my evenings are completely dedicated to pet enrichment, feeding routines, and house-sitting. Having managed kennel boarding and cared for dogs my entire life, integrating new pets into a safe, reliable, and structured daily routine is second nature to me. Whether at my place or yours, I prioritize safety and a stress-free routine. In your home, I have years of house-sitting experience and know how to make pets feel secure when their family is absent, all while treating your home with the utmost respect. If hosting at my house, I draw on my professional boarding experience to safely manage introductions with my own pets and maintain a peaceful environment. From administering complex medications to basic grooming, I bring a veterinary technician's eye to everyday pet care.

Trace did a great job coordinating with us on times and was attentive to the instructions we left for our cats. He sent us daily updates and seemed to be able to give attention to our cats with very different personalities in the way they needed. Really appreciate Trace being a cat owner so he understands how to adapt to cats personalities! Would definitely use again.

Mackenzie was very sweet, knowledgeable, and understanding. My pug, Maggi, has A LOT of health issues, but she handled them all like a champ! We will definitely be requesting her services in the future. This was our first Rover experience, and it was a great one! 😁

Tori is a natural and we are so lucky to have met her! My cats warmed right up to her as if they’ve known her forever and she did such a good job giving my cat her medications. I would absolutely recommend Tori, she’s super sweet, detail oriented, reliable, and kind to my babies. Thank you, Tori!🥰

Lauren was absolutely amazing! She cared for my three cats every day for two weeks while I was out of the country, and I truly felt completely at ease knowing they were with her. She was incredibly attentive by feeding them, playing with them every day, and consistently sending me photos and updates so I always knew how they were doing. She also went above and beyond the basic visits. Since I was away for so long, she was thoughtful about things like the temperature inside the house, taking out the trash, and making sure the litter and home stayed clean and fresh. It also seemed like she often stayed beyond the scheduled 30 minutes just to give the cats extra attention, which I really appreciated. Her communication was excellent throughout the entire trip, and it was obvious that she genuinely cared about my cats and their wellbeing. Having someone that reliable and attentive made being away from them for two weeks so much easier. I would absolutely hire Lauren again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets!

Beatriz was amazing! She did such a great job with our Indie and sent the cutest pictures to us while we were away. I highly recommend Beatriz to anyone looking for someone to care for their babies. We will definitely be rebooking her next time we travel. Thank you Beatriz!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
