Dog's Best Friend

I havent been on Rover for a while because COVID in 2020 forced me to take a break from dogs and instead I had to work in restaurants. I'm finally able to return to working with dogs after a long 5 years. I have always been a pet owner or caretaker. Sometimes my pet was a dog, a cat, fish, or even a reptile. I have experience with both aggressive/higher maintenance dogs as well as timid, shy and anti-social dogs. I've worked at a doggy daycare for up to 5 years as well as having walked/boarded dogs continuously for over a decade and a half. I'm confident with being able to handle up to 100 dogs on my own so walking up to 2 or 3 isnt much of a challenge for me. I adapt quickly to each and every dog. Over the first few weeks, your dog will come to love me and get super excited whenever i drop by. Its a gift and a curse. Beyond my personal and professional experience, I have also helped my family and friends with their pets. Whether it be house sitting, checking in on them, behavior training, or having them board at my place, I've just always enjoyed helping out with animals. Its my passion and I want to do it as long as I live, as silly as that may be. I have a tendency to become every dog's best friend. They're our best friends, but you can have more than one, right? That's where I come in! . Each pet is a unique family member with their own personality that I adapt myself to in order to make the animal feel as comfortable as possible. I grew up with Chow Chow mixes and personally love Australian Shepherds, Cane Corsos and Rhodesian Ridgebacks right now. It's hard to pick a favorite as I've worked with many varying breeds and temperaments over the years. All puppers are wonderful flufferbears who deserve to be loved and played with, walked and petted, and given attention to as often as possible. I love to give dogs attention and be around them and work with them. Dogs are easy for me to engage with and I have plenty of experience engaging with just about any kind of dog. I'm even known around my apartments as the guy that wears everyone's dog out for fun despite owning only 2 cats. I love taking action photos of dogs and I even brag about the dogs to the owners and other people. I really understand how to comfort dogs and engage with them on their level. I respect their boundaries and take note of their body language and actions. If the dog is shy or timid, I let them come to me in their own time. When dogs are territorial, I let them do their own thing and if they just choose to accept me, then so be it.... but I will probably still try to get them to like me and befriend me. I can't help it. I just love dogs, they're so precious. See, I end up just talking forever about dogs. They're wonderful creatures and precious family members and they're always there for you! Sometimes, you can't always be there for them. I can do my best to help you fill that gap and ensure they're still loved, appreciated and taken care of with their best interests in mind. I care more about animals than people. I can't help but be honest, they're just loving and sweet and precious and amazing and, well, I don't need to keep telling you how awesome your pet is. You already know.. But I will still end up telling you anyways. I'll make sure you get photos of your pup or even cat every day! I'm used to taking hundreds of photos daily from my previous job being a Kennel technician and Yard Supervisor at a Doggy Daycare and Boarding facility. All the photos I currently have uploaded are from working at that facility. Feel free to ask me any questions you feel necessary in regards to taking care of your doggo. I'm comfortable and confident in answering any questions or concerns you may have to make you feel more at ease with me taking care of your pet. I do have experience giving both cats and dogs medication. My availability is fairly flexible to start early or stay later, as long as you give me advanced notice. I will do my best to be attentive of and respond to requests and inquiries within 30 minutes maximum. If there is a delay, then I probably got distracted by a dog.

It really helps to know a dog's background as well as their needs and tendencies. I also NEED to ensure that they get along with my cats. Our cats are used to dogs and have been socialized with all manner of sized dogs. They're used to interacting with them and if they don't interest my cats, they tend to keep to themselves. I also require that your dog is up to date on their vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper and Bordatella) and flea medication as a precaution to ensure they remain healthy and don't pass anything if I have multiple dogs boarding. Knowing any quirks about your dog greatly helps me prepare and properly care for your dog and ensure I do the best job possible. Is your dog afraid of thunder? Loud noises? Goes crazy for squirrels? Leash Aggressive? Food aggressive? Territorial? Protective? Hate certain noises or actions (I.E Blowing air, pats, certain areas not to be pet/scratched)? Food Allergies? Strict Diet or Routine? Does your dog have a history of being abused or reacts to certain behaviors that I should be more attentive of certain actions or try different approaches? The more I know about your dog, the better I'll be with them. I quickly adapt and shape my style to them. It comes naturally. I prefer breeds that are hypoallergenic due to Lauren (my girlfriend of 5+yrs) being asthmatic and allergic to strong smelling dogs. If your dog is not Hypoallergenic, they must either be recently bathed or I can bathe them myself. I am still willing to meet you and your dog and work something out depending on the service requested. I just need to ensure that Lauren is able to breathe around the dog. We have an air purifier but that can only do so much with certain dogs. Granted, if I get your dog dirty, I'll make sure I clean them up.
