About: I have always had at least one cat my whole life and since I was 10 years old, one (to several) dogs. Spending time with my dogs and husband is my favorite activity. I also have experience with guinea pigs, hamsters, and turtles. I work a full-time job from home and I am able to make my own schedule, I just need some heads up to accommodate a schedule change. I love my full time job, however, it is a desk job and I am really looking to get out more and would love to enjoy some walks with your dog! I am happy to do a meet and greet so that both you and your pup can feel comfortable with me and I know all of the important details to keep them safe and happy.
“Barbara was wonderful and we will certainly hire her again! We have a cat who needs medication and Barbara was so confident in administering it, she totally put my mind at ease leaving our boys in her care! Pictures each day were through and she followed all our instructions. Communication before and during our trip was great. I highly recommend Barbara!”

“We are so lucky that Kaylee was able to watch our dog and cat while we were gone. She took such great care of them and really eased my anxiety about going away. She took such great care of our home too. I will be booking Kaylee again for sure, and highly recommend her as a pet sitter.”

“I'd 100% book Angelica again! She did a great job looking after my bunnies, and went above and beyond with tidying up after a week of visits. She was on top of communication at all times. Yay Angelica!”

About: From blue tick coonhounds to chiweenies, I know my way around walking dogs! During my volunteering at an animal shelter, I learned proper walking and handling methods, so every walk is set to be safe and happy! I work part-time, often with multiple full days off that can be dedicated to keeping your pets safe, healthy, and happy! I’m also comfortable with taking care of pets before or after my shifts :) While I currently do not offer boarding, I am more than happy to visit wherever your pet calls home and give them comfortability and familiarity.

“Tamikia did a fantastic job taking care of our cat while we were away. She came at the scheduled time and did all that was asked of her and more. She made us feel very comfortable leaving our cat in her care. We enjoyed receiving the daily updates and photos while we were away. We would definitely hire her again!”

“Bree is wonderful. I had to travel for work and she ensured my dog was well taken care of. I got detailed reports of how he was doing and the most adorable photos. She is calm and handle situations well with some of my troublesome neighbors well. Highly recommend. I also love that she took the time to meet my dog before hand as well.”

About: Of course I love animals, but what matters more to me is noticing who your pet actually is. Are they the kind of dog who needs to sniff the same corner for five minutes before moving on? Are they a little shy at first and pretending not to care? Do they get excited easily and need someone calm around them? Are they a cat who wants company, but absolutely not too much company? I really enjoy figuring out those little things. I’m gentle, patient, and very respectful of each pet’s routine. I don’t believe in rushing them or treating every animal the same. Some pets need play and attention, some need slow walks and quiet reassurance, and some just need someone kind nearby so the house does not feel empty. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a way that still feels familiar to them. I’m also very careful with instructions. Feeding routines, medications, walk preferences, favorite toys, things that scare them, how they like to be greeted, whether they are allowed on the couch. I want to know all of it. I know these details are not “extra.” They are usually the things that make a pet feel secure. I’ll also send updates and photos, not just to say everything is fine, but so you can actually feel connected to them while you are away. My childhood friend and roommate, Matin, may also help me sometimes, and you may see her in some of my photos. She has had pets since childhood and fostered animals for several years, so she is very used to different personalities, nervous pets, affectionate pets, and animals who need a little extra patience. She is calm, loving, and very responsible, and I trust her completely with animals. Between the two of us, your pet will be cared for by people who genuinely like being around animals, but who also understand that trust matters. I’ll treat your pet with warmth, patience, and care, and I’ll treat your home and instructions with respect. This year, much of my work is remote, which gives me real flexibility in my schedule. That means I’m able to spend unrushed, attentive time with pets, not just quick check-ins, but actual companionship, care, and presence. I can shape my day around walks, visits, feeding times, play, and quiet company, depending on what each pet needs. My childhood friend and roommate, Matin, who is included in the pictures, also helps me out with my Rover schedules. My home is my cat Lilo’s safe little kingdom, so I can’t host other pets here. But I’m very happy to come to your home, meet outside for walks, or figure out a setup that feels easy and comfortable for you and your pet.
“Absolutely incredible with my dogs! Jacqueline kept us up to date on everything to do with our puppies with adorable pictures and videos. I came back home to find my house cleaner than I left it. she even folded up my blankets on the couch! Don’t hesitate and book her, you won’t be disappointed.”

About: My three years of experience have taught me that every dog possesses a unique personality and set of needs. I prioritize your pet's comfort and happiness by treating them as if they were my own. My approach centers on maintaining a safe, stimulating, and consistent routine, whether that involves strict adherence to dietary schedules or managing high-energy play. I hold certifications in Experience with senior pets and Experience with special needs pets. I remain calm during emergencies, prioritizing quick, responsible decision-making while keeping you fully informed. I am punctual, kind, and empathetic, and I truly enjoy helping shy dogs come out of their shells. With my own reliable transportation, I am ready to provide your dog with the dedicated care they deserve. I look forward to treating your beloved companion with the same love and attention I give my own. I have a flexible schedule and am available for dog walks throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I understand that every dog has different needs, and I’m happy to work with your schedule to provide reliable, consistent walks and plenty of exercise, attention, and care. Animals have always been a part of my family, and I care for every pet as if they were my own. My childhood dog lived to be 15 years old, and I was there to help care for him throughout his life, especially in his senior years when he needed extra support. He was truly my best friend and taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and attentive care. Today, I care for my own dog and cat every day by feeding them, giving them attention, and making sure they are happy and healthy. I walk my dog before and after work and throughout the day as needed, and I enjoy spending quality time playing with both my dog and cat. I have a genuine love for animals, but dog walking is something I especially enjoy. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priorities, and I will treat them with the same care and attention I give my own pets.
“Paz was very responsible and timely. She showed kindness to the cats, cleaned up after them, made sure they had food and water. One of my cats needs a medicated eye-drop regularly and Paz was confident in her ability to administer the eye-drop. I would hire her again.”

About: I’ve been around animals for as long as I can remember! Growing up in Linstead Jamaica, my family owned a small farm, where we tended goats and chickens. We also took care of 2 generations of Rottweilers, so for as long as I can remember, I have had pets. Because of this, I’ve gotten to care for dogs of all ages - from newborn to older, in sickness and health. Since moving to Philly in 2016, my family has rescued a Cat (Rocket) and a Shih Tzu (Betty White). Needless to say, if given the opportunity I will make sure to give not only care for, but love your pet! I am currently home full time. Feel free to reach out - I am available early mornings and nights, and for drop ins or house sittings when needed. I am also open to last minute bookings. I live with a family of 4. We live in a home in a very quiet neighborhood near Cobbs creek - with trails and parks within the vicinity. We currently do not have any of our own pets, but any pets we have cared for had the luxury of enjoying outdoors at almost any hour and to meet and play with other pets at different parks. As for drop ins, I will treat your home with the upmost respect.
“Olga was the best!! We’re so grateful that she was so sweet to our dog (that was a little scared and nervous on the first visit). She went above and beyond to make sure we could enjoy our trip away. She was Always on time, had great communication and loved getting the pictures. Thank you, Olga!”
“Evelyn is great about following instructions and checking in. My cat's water fountain broke on the last day and she was great at asking me what to do. She's the type of person I want watching my kitty girl.”

About: What sets me apart is my calm and gentle demeanor, especially beneficial for anxious or shy pets. I create a peaceful and reassuring environment, helping them feel safe and comfortable. I'm skilled at reading their body language and adapting my approach to their individual needs. I'm also very patient and understanding, giving them the time they need to adjust. I'm experienced in creating a safe and comfortable space, and I am very good at slow introductions. Pet care is a top priority in my daily and weekly routine. I believe in providing consistent care, so I establish regular feeding and walk schedules. I'm also flexible and adapt to each pet's unique needs. Throughout the day, I monitor their behavior and ensure they have fresh water and playtime. I genuinely love spending time with animals and providing them with the best possible care. My approach to pet care is built on providing a safe, happy, and healthy environment for every animal. Here's what that looks like: * Routine and Consistency: I understand the importance of routine, so I strictly follow feeding schedules and exercise plans provided by owners. * Personalized Attention: Every pet is unique, and I tailor my care to their individual needs. Some dogs love fetch, while others prefer gentle cuddles. I take the time to get to know each pet's personality and preferences. For example, with shy cats, I use slow, gentle movements and let them approach me on their own terms.
“Linda took excelent care of Michi during the week I was away, she was super professional, provided constant communication, created detailed cards after each visit and always felt safe to have her come into my home! I would definitely recommend her services and use them again!”

I left my cat, Leo, with Autumn for 7 days, and when I returned, I was pleasantly surprised. Leo looked beautiful and well cared for, as if he had just come from a grooming appointment. Autumn did a wonderful job taking care of him. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.

Mario has been so amazing since our first meet and greet. He has been taking care of our disabled pup who requires medication. We have been doing reoccurring visits and he always so prompt and communicative and importantly flexible and patience working with our new routine. Highly recommend Mario!

Leaving my boy and my girl isn’t easy but knowing that Heather is taking care of them made it less stressful because she does such a great job and I know they are in good hands. Easy communication and thorough updates as well as handling my grumpy guy with ease. Highly recommend Heather if you need someone to care for your fur babies.

Kristin provided great care for our cat while we were on vacation. She sent detailed updates and daily photos. Besides feeding and cleaning his litter, Kristin showed him great affection which was very comforting. I would not hesitate to have her care for our cat again in the future.

Jacqueline 🐕🦺🐾 was great. While I was away, she took time out of her schedule to check on both my cat and dog. They both enjoyed our company very much. She was kind, timely, and responsive to all of my messages. I look forward to working with her again in the near future.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
