“Marie was a life saver to agree to take our aging pug for his first stay with only 24 hours notice. She was kind, flexible, accommodating and understanding. She has young kids who welcomed Napoleon at the car door and were so excited to have a "pudgy puggie" to play with. He LOVED the attention and care. Upon pick up he was packed and ready to go -- super efficient sendoff. It made me feel so much better to leave my much loved dog in their care. I rebooked Marie for another stay as soon as I got home. A++.”
“A big thank you to Dustin + fam for taking great care of our Jax! We felt so safe leaving our pup for an overnight with such a welcoming family who provided updates, prompt responses, and great care. Jax came home happy and TIRED and will definitely be back to visit!”

“Bryan is an awesome caregiver! My dog Bella loves Bryan and his wife so much, I was afraid she would want to stay. So much care, love and attention was given to my little lady and I no longer book her in a kennel, she goes to Bryan.???”

“Tre’Ana was a wonderful sitter for my puppy. It was extremely last minute and she was so patient and caring for my last minute trip and did an amazing job of taking care of my pup. The pictures she sent of my pup and giving me updates you can see how happy he was in her home. I highly recommend her services. With the global computer outage I was running late to pick up my puppy and she stayed up late and was incredibly patient with me. She went above and beyond for a stranger like me and for my dog which is incredibly important so I thank you Tre’Ana for being such a great care taker. I plan on using her again for my trip this week. I recommend you do the same if you want excellent professional care.”

“Nicole and Tim were absolutely great! Good communicators and sent photos and updates throughout our dogs stay. She can be a little particular but settled in immediately and it felt like she got her own vacation while we were on ours. Will definitely book them again!”

“We couldn't have asked for anyone better than Dave & Cindy for our boy, Duke. They both are such hospitalable, warm individuals and I knew the moment I met them, at our meet and greet, that Duke would be in caring hands! I trusted them whole-heartedly, and will continue to use them should my husband and I need to be away. Thank you Dave and Cindy!! ❤”

“Lesley was wonderful and I was very pleased with the communcation and how she took care of Zep! It was Zep's first time staying with anyone besides family and I would definitely have Zep stay with Leslley again”

“I would describe the experience of having Brian watch our dog Nimbus for a couple nights as easy and worry free. Brian was very welcoming and friendly. Brian took the time to get to know Nimbus and answer any questions I had. His closed-in backyard and house setup is clean and great for boarding dogs. Thanks again for taking care of Nimbus and I hope you are available the next time I need a dog sitter.”

“Sargent has stayed with Viki and Dave twice now while I’ve been traveling and he absolutely loves it! They are great at sending updates/pictures as needed so I get my updates and have peace of mine! Highly recommend!”

“Judith is so responsive and attentive! This was our first time leaving our precious cargo with someone other than her grandma while we left town for a few days, but knowing that she was with Judith and being loved on was reassuring. I would highly recommend Judith for all pet sitting needs!”

“It’s always nerve-wracking when I have to find someone new to watch Doc. Fortunately, I found Dawn—she took great care of him! She’s warm and friendly, and judging by the pictures she sent, Doc had a great time and was well taken care of. I will definitely be a repeat customer!”

“I cannot say enough good things about the care Mandy provides. Not only does she provide a safe environment for our Theo, but he truly feels loved and at home with her and her family. We are so grateful to have a place where Theo is happy when there are times we can't take him with us. Highly recommend!”

“We highly recommend Kari for dog sitting. We left our dog Ruby for over two weeks and we were very pleased with the care she received at Kari’s home. She sent lots of photos and videos while we were gone. It helped ease our minds that Ruby was in great care! They treated Ruby like a member of their family! We will definitely use Kari again!”

“I was so nervous to leave my dog for the first time, but as soon as I got pictures from Leslie on that first day of my trip, I was at ease. Leslie communicated everyday and was also incredibly flexible, extending my dog's stay due to a late flight. I would definitely have my dog stay with Leslie again.”

“Leah took excellent care of my cat and regularly provided updates, including photos and videos. She was very accommodating, and I was extremely happy with her service.”

“Adolfo was fantastic. He sent pictures to reassure me that my pup was well cared for. My pup didn't want leave her new friends. Definitely recommend him.”

Isa is great!! So friendly, and attentive and loving with my dog. I know Lily was well-taken care of and had a good time. I could tell immediately when I picked up my dog that she had bonded with Isa and her friend. Plus she got Lily to eat while I was gone, so that's an accomplishment! I will definitely want to use Isa again for future boarding.

Boarded our pug at Catherine's for a one night stay and will definitely be reaching out to her again the next time we need a sitter. As recent transplants to the area, we've had much trouble finding a responsive sitter so we greatly appreciated her timely responses and flexibility with our schedule. Her dog, Bodie, is the sweetest and we were so happy to hear that he and our little old guy got along well. Thank you again for having Benny over, Catherine!

Gabrielle accepted my late request and went above and beyond to care for my little guy. My cat seemed very comfortable and happy in her space and she was very attentive to him and his needs. She watched him for me when he needed medicine administered twice daily and extra special attention which he got. I’m so grateful to have found her on Rover! Will definitely reach out to her again if I need a sitter.

It's very easy to work with Shaina ... we did a quick meet-n-greet before our booking to see that our dogs got along together (they did!) and then left our Jackson for a week-long stay. Jackson was clearly well cared for and had lots of playtime and regular walks. We got regular updates with photos as promised. I'm sure he was sad to leave ... we will book with her again in the future.

Annie was amazing with my two dogs! She provided frequent updates and lots of pictures of my dogs while I was gone. I felt really comfortable leaving them with her. It’s clear from the moment you see Annie with your dogs that she is a natural dog person and the dogs just love her. I’d recommend Annie to any dog parents!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
