“My dog Taddy needed a sitter short notice for 2 weeks, when our previously scheduled sitter had to cancel due to a family emergency. Julia was fortunately available and very attentive to Taddy's issues (with him being an anxious rescue dog, with arthritis, reactivity towards other dogs, etc.). She also didn't take on another client during the 2 weeks because of Taddy's issues with other dogs. We got a picture and an update every 2-3 days while we were away. Taddy looked very comfortable and at home in the pictures. Our flight back was delayed, and we picked up Taddy close to midnight, much later than planned. Julia was v cooperative and flexible with our delay which we really appreciated.”

About: I've spent much of my life living with and caring for dogs--from growing up with dogs throughout childhood, to helping care for dogs as an adult, to having Spencer, my most recent dog. I don't currently have pets of my own, which means visiting dogs get my full attention and don't have to adjust to unfamiliar resident animals. I genuinely miss having a dog around! I work from home and love the idea of giving someone's dog a cozy, low-stress place to stay while their humans are away. I intentionally accept dogs from only one household at a time, so I'm able to get to know their routine, personality, and quirks and make sure they get lots of individual attention. I have a dog door that suits a large dog and a fenced-in backyard in beautiful Southwest Garden, across from The Hill. I'm comfortable following detailed feeding and medication instructions and am happy to care for senior dogs. I'm currently focusing on friendly, reliably housetrained adult small and medium dogs that I can comfortably handle on leash. I prefer a meet-and-greet before a first stay so that both the dog and I can ensure we're comfortable together. And I love sending photos and updates! Getting pictures of Spencer when I traveled always made me happy, so I'm delighted to do the same for you. I work from home Monday through Friday from 9am-6pm, so I’m home much of the day and can easily fit walks, playtime, meals, potty breaks, and plenty of attention into my routine. I live on a quiet, tree-lined street with sidewalks and no through traffic, just ten houses from Sublette Park. I love walking the perimeter of the park, so dogs who enjoy walks will have plenty of opportunities to get out and "sniff the puppy newspaper." I’m happy to take dogs for several walks a day depending on their normal routine and energy level. I do leave the house for errands and activities, so dogs should be comfortable relaxing at home alone for a few hours at a time. I have a quiet, dog-friendly home with no resident pets, and I only host dogs from one household at a time. I have a large, fully fenced privacy backyard for supervised play and potty breaks, plus a dog door that can be closed and locked when needed. Dogs are welcome to relax on my large couch, which is always covered with waterproof pet blankets. At night, dogs can sleep in their own crate in my downstairs den, on the couch, or--if they’re well behaved without a crate--on a dog bed in my bedroom. I don’t provide a crate, so owners should bring one if their dog needs it. I prefer to meet new dogs before their first stay so I can learn their routine and make sure I can handle them comfortably and safely. I’m currently best suited for friendly, reliably housetrained adult dogs who aren’t strong pullers, destructive chewers, or determined escape artists.

About: Coming from an animal loving family and already volunteering part time at the Humane Society, I just can’t get enough of walking dogs — especially big ones ! My family’s dog, a total mixed breed that we raised from a puppy, is a modest 80 lbs. Before we got him, I grew up with a border collie and a cattle dog mix, so I deal well with high energy breeds. I’m happy to take them on 2+ mile walks multiple times a day. I have always had dogs, so I have a lifetime of experience raising, training, and taking care of them. I currently work part-time as a French teacher, frequently online, so I have a lot of free time to spend with your pet. About: As an adult I've had both cats and dogs. For the last 20 years I've had 1-3 dogs at any given time. 3 from puppies. The last one just passed away at 12, from cancer. The oldest was a 16yo Shihtzu who went blind. I'm not ready for another pet of my own and would be thrilled to love on babies when you need someone to care for them. I currently nanny two days a week for 4 hrs total so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. Whatever amount they need. I’d love to meet you and earn your trust (and your pup’s!) — feel free to contact me for a meet and greet anytime! I have morning flexibility Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 8am-12pm. I also have some weekend and evenings open depending on the time. I am open to long or short walks or just drop in visits to feed and check on them! In your home, I will follow your pet's routine that you request — from feeding and potty breaks to playtime. I understand how important it is to maintain their normal schedule and surroundings, especially when you're away. I’m punctual, clean, and respectful of your space, always making sure your pet feels secure and your home is just as you left it.
About: I’ve grown up around dogs and trained one dog growing up. I have experience walking neighbors dogs and house-sitting for friends and family. Love all dogs! I’m currently working, and evenings and weekends are the most free for me. My schedule will free up significantly around the summer time. I grew up with dogs and have been missing them dearly, so I am excited to have more furry friends in my life! I love taking dogs for walks. I’ll always leash up before opening the door. On walks, I’ll follow whatever style of interaction your pet is used to. I’ve walked dogs who are friendly to other dogs and people and dogs who are not- so I’ve had experience on both ends of the spectrum. It is helpful to know what their dog typically does on a given day, any information is appreciated :). I love to be active and play with dogs, but also respect downtime to rest.
About: College student with extra time on her hands. I love spending my time outdoors, in a good book, or with my daughter. I love animals and grew up with them in my household. At the moment I have no pets, so I love this opportunity to help take care of others. I grew up with household cats and dogs. Part of my daily/weekly chores would be feeding them, bathing them, and taking them out for walks. As well as changing cat litter and scooping up dog poop and disposing of it properly. I can help make specific meals to dietary or health needs, or a simple dog/cat food feeding. I am able to give daily vitamins/medicine to pets, in the form of a pill or syringe. “My dog Taddy needed a sitter short notice for 2 weeks, when our previously scheduled sitter had to cancel due to a family emergency. Julia was fortunately available and very attentive to Taddy's issues (with him being an anxious rescue dog, with arthritis, reactivity towards other dogs, etc.). She also didn't take on another client during the 2 weeks because of Taddy's issues with other dogs. We got a picture and an update every 2-3 days while we were away. Taddy looked very comfortable and at home in the pictures. Our flight back was delayed, and we picked up Taddy close to midnight, much later than planned. Julia was v cooperative and flexible with our delay which we really appreciated.”
