“Gabbie is great! My pup is pretty shy and going through some health concerns. Gabbie was attentive to what my dog needs, has been consistently on-time and has built up trust with her in the span of a week. Sadie seems really excited when Gabbie comes by and seems to enjoy their mid-day play sessions!”

“Nat was absolutely wonderful with my kitties! She spent quality time with them, played with them, and always sent me pictures and thoughtful updates about their disposition and how they were doing. She went the extra mile to learn exactly which food each kitty received and the best times to visit. She even rinsed out the wet-food cans before discarding them and ran the garbage disposal so the apartment wouldn’t smell like stale cat food. When I came home, everything was incredibly clean and smelled great—and, most importantly, my kitties were completely stress-free and well-adjusted, as though nothing had changed at all. That kind of care and peace of mind is priceless. Thanks so much, Nat! You’re the best cat sitter I’ve ever had!”

“We were thrilled with the time Sarah spent on our cats! They love attention so it was much less stressful coming home from a trip knowing that they were well cared for and attended to. They had plenty of food, clean water, and the litter boxes weren’t overflowing, what more can you ask for!”

“Cannot say enough great things about Haley. She followed all of the directions extremely well, took great care of Theo and went above and beyond to stimulate him during their outings. Highly recommend!”

“Latasha looked after our kitty (Lazare) and house for a week in July. She was very professional and courteous. She took the time to write down instructions on our meet and greet. Lazare loved her! I appreciated her communication and photos and she also took good care of the house and plants. I wholeheartedly recommend Latasha.”

“Hope did a wonderful job checking in on my Marca. Sent a bunch of pictures for me and communicated clearly what she did while at my place. Would book again!”

“Sophia is an outstanding sitter. I left her a few pages of instructions and she was very diligent with following them and going the extra mile. There were some things she did without me asking and that goes a long way. I am usually stressed about my cats when I leave but I didn’t feel any stress at all with her watching them. She provided a lot of pictures and made an effort to befriend the cats too. I will use her again in the future if needed. Thank you thank you!”

About: Coming from an animal loving family and already volunteering part time at the Humane Society, I just can’t get enough of walking dogs — especially big ones ! My family’s dog, a total mixed breed that we raised from a puppy, is a modest 80 lbs. Before we got him, I grew up with a border collie and a cattle dog mix, so I deal well with high energy breeds. I’m happy to take them on 2+ mile walks multiple times a day. I have always had dogs, so I have a lifetime of experience raising, training, and taking care of them. I currently work part-time as a French teacher, frequently online, so I have a lot of free time to spend with your pet. Plus, if I am staying long term at your house, my students will love to see your pet pop up on my Zoom video! I can adapt to whatever your pet needs. If you have a pet that just needs feeding and a potty break/litter box scooping, I can provide that. If your pet is a little needier and needs playtime, ear rubs, and someone’s lap to sit on, I’m also eager to provide. I understand that each animal is different.
“Ross did a great job with our two cats. He provided exactly the care we requested and spent time playing with our young cat to help her get out that pent up energy! He also provided superior communication. We greatly appreciated his sitting services”

“This was our first time working with Caroline. What a pleasure! Easy, to the point, great communication and care of Stella. Thank you for giving us the peace of mind she is in good hands. I definitely recommend her!”

“We had a good experience with Elinor caring for our cats. She was friendly, communicative, and spent time with them during the visits. We appreciated the updates and the effort she put into making sure they were comfortable while we were away.💖💕”

About: Hi, I'm Gracie! I do home remodeling & carpentry things for work, but my number one passion is in taking care of animals. I also travel pretty frequently and because of that, I’ve found this platform invaluable. So aside from wanting to meet and hang with your cute pets, I’d love to return the favor and help out fellow pet owners! Especially in those dire, last minute boarding/sitting situations. (been there 😅) Growing up, my family fostered retired racing greyhounds so I’m very comfortable around sensitive and unsure dogs. For several years I worked and lived on various animal farms- all of which had/bred livestock guardian dogs that I worked very closely with. I am experienced in senior care and administering medications (including injections) to all sorts of animals. I work for myself doing residential carpentry and remodeling, so my schedule is very flexible and I’m usually available for last minute bookings. I also never work very far from home. Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and even the bed if that’s what they’re used to at home, and I have several dog beds set up around the house too. I also have a large crate available if your dog needs a quiet, secure space to settle into. I keep a close eye on dogs at all times, dog-proof the areas we’re in, and make sure fresh water is always available.

About: I’ve lived with pets my whole entire life and helped raise my puppy and kitten as well as take care of my senior dog. I’ve also helped my neighbors with their pets while they were out of town and I love spending time with and caring for all animals. I’m currently home from school and have a lot of free time before my work starts in a few weeks. I would love to spend my time helping you with your animals and giving them as much attention as they can. I promise to be very careful in your home assuring that there’s no accidents or safety concerns with the pets. If needed, I can crate pets feed them, walk them and just give them some love and attention.

About: I grew up having 3 dogs and caring for them. They have bad anxiety so I’m really good with comforting anxious dogs. Also if they have certain medications and timing. I currently have a senior dog so I understand the stress of making sure they get proper care. Since I’m a college student my summer is more open so I have an incredibly flexible schedule. I’m an early riser so I’m able to help in the mornings as well. The weekends are more tricky but I could make it work if needed. My own dogs do not do great with other pets due to their anxiety so I would not be able to bring pets back to my home. However, I am able to sit at a house and do over nights. I am comfortable going in to feed them or take them on walks as well.
About: I have had pets all my life and my family made sure I was involved in the care and upkeep. I have handled different species and breeds with different disabilities, temperament, and backgrounds. Animals are one of my passions and so I’m more than happy to learn and experience more. I have a pretty open schedule, I simply ask to be notified of any changes a day in advance so that I can plan accordingly. I’m more than happy caring for your pet where they are most comfy, their own home! I can check and fill food and water (and litter boxes), take your little fluffy friend for walks, have playtime and get some exercise and enrichment in. Also, if needed, I can bathe them as well.

This is my first time using Rover and it was a great experience! I was concerned at first because I needed to be gone for over a month and my two cats have pretty different personalities that required different types of care, but Bethany was a pro in taking care of both of them and keeping them safe and happy.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in University City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
