About: I have been a dog owner all of adult life. At the moment I am without a dog having lost my own last year. He was a 17 year old Border terrier. I have recently retired from full time work. I love walking and regularly walk 5 miles a day around my local park (Haslem) and Preston Docks. Although l have never looked after dogs professionally l am very confident with them and often look after my friends dogs. I have experienced in training my own dogs and am happy to assist with any dog training regime you may have. I will be the sole carer for the dog with assistance of my wife Angela I am retired and I love walking as part of my daily routine. I meet with a lot of friends on my local park who are dog owners. I have no commitments and am more than happpy to be flexible and work around you. Early mornings are no problem! I have a large gated secure garden and live within walking distance of two local parks. I have no chidren who could leave doors and gates open . I am happy to walk dogs wherever suits them wether lt be on or off the lead and solo or mixing with other dogs. In my career as a telephone engineer I have experience of working inside people's houses, many of them with dogs and I have never had any issues.I will be the sole carer

“Once again, what an amazing couple, this is the second time we have been lucky enough to have these great people take care of our boys. Constants pictures and updates. Even was able to add on an extra day instantly. We will never look anywhere else. Amazing humans ❤️❤️”

About: Experience training large breeds, reactive dogs and recent puppy training experience. Experience with Springer Spaniels, Dobermans, Bully Breeds, French Bull Dogs and Golden Retrievers but I am confident with all breeds. Just moved out on my own and miss the company of pets, I know how difficult it can be finding pet care around work schedules so expect me to be reliable and flexible. Preferably I will care for your dog in the comfort of your own home but I am happy to do boarding in my home if required. I work remotely, so I will be working Monday - Friday but I am able to give your dog the love and attention is needs/deserves. I will take away the stress of the morning rush, dropping your dog at day care - I will come to you at a time preferred, I can do morning and lunch time walks also.

About: A Loving Home for Your Furry Friend Please note: - I do not accept male dogs that have not been neutered - Due to the time I invest in getting to know your dog and helping them feel settled and comfortable, I am currently only taking on new boarding bookings for two nights or more - I’m unable to accept dogs who may show any signs of aggression towards people or other animals, as I prioritise a safe and peaceful environment for my own dog, other dogs in my care and myself. As an avid dog lover with over 30 years of experience, I provide a safe, welcoming home for both day and overnight boarding, focusing on personalised care to ensure your dog feels loved and secure. Each dog receives plenty of individual attention and affection, with a calm environment where they can relax, play, and enjoy tailored activities- whether that’s leisurely walks, playful adventures, or quiet cuddles on the sofa. I own a well-loved (and spoilt!) 9 year old Cocker Spaniel called Boston who is very calm and friendly. I have experience of caring for a variety of breeds, giving me a wealth of knowledge about their unique needs. I board one dog at a time (or two bonded dogs) to ensure that each dog receives my undivided attention and affection. This approach not only reduces stress but also allows me to tailor exercise and activities to suit your dog’s preferences—whether they enjoy leisurely walks or active adventures. Why Choose Me? 1. Personalised Attention: Boarding one dog (or a pair) allows me to focus on their individual needs, ensuring their comfort and happiness, whether relaxing on the sofa or playing with their favourite toys. 2. Reduced Stress; Many dogs can feel anxious in a crowded environment. I am able to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere making their stay more enjoyable. 3. Tailored Exercise and Activities: Every dog is unique, so I customise their routine- whether they enjoy leisurely walks, long adventures, or quiet cuddles. 4. Close Monitoring: With full attention on your dog, I can quickly respond to changes in behaviour, appetite, or mood, ensuring they stay happy and healthy. 5. Enhanced Bonding: My caring, one-on-one approach builds trust, creating a loving “home away from home” where your dog feels safe and secure. Note on Peak Periods: During busy times such as half-term, I may, at my discretion, accommodate two overnight boarding dogs. This is to meet demand and ensure my regular customers have continued access to my services. Rest assured, this would always be communicated with you in advance, and each dog will still receive the highest level of care and attention in a safe and loving environment. I welcome well-behaved, house-trained dogs only. Rest assured, I’ll keep you updated with photos and videos of your dog’s adventures while they’re with me, so you can see how much fun they’re having! I work from home (currently part time), with dog beds in my office and around the house, ensuring a cosy environment. I allow dogs on the sofas, beds etc, no area is off limits unless needed. During my lunch break, I dedicate a full hour to taking the dogs for a walk, either on or off-lead, depending on their needs. After work, we enjoy another long or short walk. I’m just a 2-minute walk from a large park and fields that lead to beautiful woodland trails with lots of fun adventures and streams available for the dogs. Throughout the day, the dogs are let out into my secure, spacious back garden for a sniff around or to do their business. On my days off, I love taking the dogs on car trips to the beach, woods, or occasionally the Lake District for a bit of adventure! At the weekends I take the dogs out in the car for trips to the beach, woods or sometimes the lake district if we are feeling more adventurous. My own dog is the Cocker Spaniel (9 years old) in the photos and the Cockapoo is my mums 2 year old who is a bit more active and loves to play when she comes over.

“Louise has been absolutely amazing. Our cat princess genuinely loves her and she made our anxiety of leaving her disappear. Would definitely recommend her and ask for her again!”

“Very reliable and caring towards whisky. Met all his needs and kept him entertained releasing some of his energy. Can definitely recommend Jess to others, she was very friendly and professional.”

About: We’re two sisters Jess and Elly - sisters with a shared passion for animals and lots of animal care experience! As well as having had pets all of our lives Jess is also a qualified veterinary surgeon so has plenty of experience with looking after animals and giving medications. Between us we’re the perfect pair to look after your pets as Elly works from home during the day so your animals will always have someone there to give them love and attention. We are insured for dog walking and pet sitting. Your pets will be staying at Elly’s house and our own pets will stay at Jess’s house (their permanent place of residence) and Elly and I will swap in and out of each house as appropriate. We will only ever accept one home boarding booking at a time so your pets do not get stressed with unknown animals around them and they have maximum peace, comfort and attention for the duration of their stay. We will only ever walk one dog at a time as well, unless the dogs are from the same household. We will not be able to do 60 minute walks or drop in visits on weekday lunchtimes, but can on weekends and before/ after work. 30 minutes are fine :) We will take regular photos of your pet and if you’re happy being updated while you’re away we can send these daily or else send them to you once you return home. Please note: while being a vet makes me the perfect person to look after your animals, legally and from an insurance point of view I have to keep the veterinary side separate from the pet sitting and dog walking side. I work for a charity and cannot use charity services to treat other animals, so if your pet gets ill during the stay (which will hopefully not happen!) I’ll take your pet to your nominated vets :) While I can give basic advice legally I cannot offer diagnostics or treatments without being your primary care vet as I’m only insured (with veterinary - I am fully insured for pet sitting and dog walking don’t worry!) to work at the charity practice at the present moment. I will obviously be checking and doing basic health exams on your pet during the stay to make sure they’re completely happy and healthy :) Elly works from home and so will be able to stay with your pet almost 24/7 (apart from nipping out for short trips such as food shopping and going to the gym!). Jess can walk dogs after work, feed and play with cats after work and we’re both available most weekends to look after your pets. We live in an area with lots of walks available - we do not have an enclosed garden so would not be letting any pets outside without a lead or harness on.

About: I've had pets (dogs and cats) almost all of my life, and became a veterinary nurse straight after leaving college. I just love animals! My vet experience means that I am happy to care for any pets who may have additional medical or care needs, and that I am pet first aid trained. I currently work part-time (3 days a week) and on my days off I spend most of my time at home or dog walking, so pets will have someone with them most of the time. We have a large fenced garden to play in, with grass and paved areas, so plenty of space for games and cuddles. I love dog walks on my days off in many of the local parks.

About: With 10 years of experience working with dogs, I’ve developed a strong, natural understanding of their behaviour, needs, and personalities, along with a wide range of practical skills. From a young age, I took the initiative to volunteer at multiple doggy daycares, where I cared for a diverse mix of dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages. I’ve had the privilege of working with playful puppies who thrive on stimulation, structure, and training, as well as senior dogs who require a gentler pace, extra patience, and comfort. As a devoted dog owner myself, I understand the pressure and concern that comes with finding the right person to look after your dog. When your pup is in my care, they’ll be welcomed into both my home and heart—receiving the love, attention, and tail wags they truly deserve!🐾☺️ Upon booking, I’ll ask for full details regarding your dog’s usual routine—whether it’s feeding times, toilet breaks, preferred walking routes, or bedtime habits. I’ll follow these closely to ensure a smooth, stress-free experience. Unlike many other sitters who have full-time jobs or other commitments, I’m able to give your dog my full, undivided attention, ensuring they are never left unattended. My home is located in Preston town centre, offering easy access to a wide variety of walking routes, parks, and scenic spots for your dog to explore🌈. I live in a ground floor apartment within a secure complex, which features a gated entrance requiring a pin code for access, 24/7 CCTV surveillance, and an additional pin-protected entry to the apartment block itself. This layered security ensures your pup is safe and well protected at all times! Inside, my home is a clean, smoke-free, and comfortable environment where your pets are more than welcome to relax on the sofa for plenty of snuggles and cuddles, or indulge in some fun with their favourite toys.☺️🐾

About: I’ve had my cat for two years and have always been naturally good with animals. I like dogs, cats, and birds. My friends and family often trust me with their beloved pets when they need someone to care for them whether it be a day thing or when they go away on holiday. Hello 👋 My name’s Ahmed and I’m a university student that provides pet care during the holidays. I live in a 5 person, 1 cat household with no children and plenty of space for your loved ones to roam. I am only taking in cats for day sitting or overnight boarding. I have one cat which only stays indoors. I have a fenced garden if your cat enjoys the outdoors however a leash of some sort would be required as cats are too good at escaping haha

About: Hello! My name is Inna. I recently moved to the UK and would love to spend more time with dogs again. I’ve had several dogs in the past — two wonderful Rottweilers, a playful Pug, and a sweet French Bulldog. They were all part of my life and my heart. At the moment, I don’t have my own dog, but I really miss the daily joy and energy they bring. That’s why I’m here on Rover — to walk, play, and care for your furry friends as if they were my own. I live in a quiet, comfortable home with a safe garden, perfect for dogs to relax and feel secure. I enjoy taking dogs on calm walks, giving them attention, cuddles, and playtime. I’m reliable, calm, and responsible — and I understand how important it is to know your pet is in good hands. Whether your dog needs a short walk, a friendly daytime companion, or a warm home for the night — I’ll be happy to help! 🐶💕 Pet care fits naturally into my daily life. I currently have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home. I'm available for walks and drop-in visits in the mornings, afternoons, and early evenings. I offer flexible pet care depending on your needs: – I can visit your home to feed, check on, or spend time with your pet. – I'm happy to take dogs out for walks in parks or quiet streets. – I can also host small or calm dogs in my home if you're away on holiday.

“Chan was great at communicating throughout our time away, did a great job and went the extra mile. We will request her again in the future without hesitation.”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life of different breeds, I’ve also had family trust me with their dogs for weeks at a time. I currently own a German shepherd but I have owned a Yorkshire terrier, a bulldog and a jack Russell in the past! I have also volunteered at a local doggy daycare called Frankie’s for 3 months where I looked after 35+ dogs and made sure the daycare was fun and safe! I’m currently unemployed so I have all day and night to spend time with your fur baby, whether it’s just a little check in and play or a full day care I’m free! I have walked dogs, clear up after them, play with them, fed them and trained them! I enjoy creating mind exercises for the dogs to keep them busy and engaged!

“Matthew was absolutely fantastic. He went above and beyond to make sure my pets were happy and cared for. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you Matthew, you were truly brilliant.”

About: I’m a sensible and responsible animal loving person. None smoker/vaper. I love all animals in every shape and size. My own pet is a cute rabbit and I have owned rabbits since I was a baby, so I consider myself to be a crazy rabbit lady. I also have experience with many different breeds of dogs, including puppies. I have mainly looked after German Shepherds as this was my family dog breed. As shown in my photos I am well versed with interactions of animals of all kinds. I am incredibly dedicated to the care of animals and will make sure to go the extra step to make sure your pet will be well looked after. Pet care fits really well into my routine at the moment because I’m currently off from university, so I have plenty of free time to dedicate to furry friends. With a flexible schedule, I’m can give each pet my full attention, stick closely to their routines, and be available for walks, feeding, playtime, or just keeping them company. It’s something I genuinely enjoy, and having the time to do it properly means I can give every pet the care and love they deserve. When caring for pets in my home or a pet owner’s home, a calm and safe environment are my top priorities. I always make sure the space is secure, clean, and free from any hazards, and I closely follow the pet’s usual routine to help them feel comfortable and settled. I take time to build trust with each animal, going at their pace. Whether I’m in my home or theirs, I create a relaxed environment so pets are free to play and feel completely at ease. I also keep in regular contact with owners so they feel confident their pets are in safe, caring hands.

About: Why let me look after your pet? Well…I have a genuine passion for dogs which is a good start. I've been around various different dog breeds all my life (having had my first pet from the age of 8) giving me a broad understanding of their unique needs and personalities. To me, dogs are not just pets; they are cherished members of the family who bring immense joy and love into our lives. One of my dogs tended to be a bit of a reactive terrier, which taught me invaluable skills in handling dogs with challenging behaviours. I'm proficient in slip lead walking and my experience with reactive dogs has equipped me with the patience, techniques, and understanding needed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for both your dog and me. Choosing me as your pet sitter means your furry friend will be in the hands of someone who not only has extensive experience but also truly loves and cares for dogs. I strive to create a comfortable, loving environment for every dog I look after, treating them as if they were my own. I currently work full time Monday to Friday but I get to work from home quite frequently. So I’m more than happy to take doggies out in the morning/afternoon/ or evening as I finish work between 4/5 most days. I’m also available at weekends pending there is nothing in the social diary! I have a fenced garden & live very close to some beautiful walking spots. I’m also happy to put doggies in their crate if required. Whatever suits the owner.
