I couldn’t be happier with the care my cats received. It was their first time with this sitter, and they absolutely loved her — and so did I. She was gentle, patient, and instantly made them feel safe and relaxed. I came home to calm, happy cats, and that tells me everything. I highly recommend Samantha and will definitely book again.

Steve was very reliable, punctual and did a great job. There was a situation where we were watching our cat on camera without any food left and looking for food. I messaged Steve and to my surprise he was over not long after that which was very early in the morning. This meant the world to us and shows how kind hearted he is❤️

Trouble free visits and sent some lovely photos of our dog getting some love while we were away. Daisy was Friendly and kept in touch. Even noted that dog hadn’t eaten much between visits to make sure this was normal which was but appreciate the care. Overall we felt much at ease knowing someone like daisy was visiting! Thanks a lot Daisy!

About: Growing up I have cared for my own pets, neighbours pets, dont shy away from the muck work, grooming and other pet requirements. Will care to your extended family member as if they were my own. I am quite confident with different animals having cared. Love and care with deep genuine attention to the extended family member and will give you some trusted peace of mind that you have left your cared one in safe kind hands. I work full time and have alternative Mondays, Wednesdays and weekends off. Therefore I am flexible in how I can help you out. Cat/dog overnight homeowner stays, happy to house your cat for an overnight stay (wouldn't be fair to a dog to come and stay in my flat as I wouldn't be able to care for it throughout the day unless it's a one night or over night weekend stay when I am off. As I'd be able to take out on walks- have two beautiful greenspaces to chose from for long or short walks. I live in a flat with a balcony, I would be happy to house cats, smaller pets in their cage/tank throughout the week, but would have smaller availability for small dogs/medium dogs, due to full time work and I wouldn't be comfortable leaving them in a confined space without the care and attention they would require.

About: I'm a work from home Personal Assistant who looks after their bosses animals. My love for dogs and cats started with my children's obsession with furry animals. I had a dog and cat as a child but never had the luxury of owning one, so this is the next best thing. I work from home so I am extremley flexible with times and days, both weekdays and weekends. I don't do set hours so timing isn't an issue around being outdoors. My house is animal proofed and I have a garden which is also securely fenced. Surrounding areas have plenty of greenery with endless walks and runs

About: I'm an active, outdoorsy person who genuinely loves being around dogs. I take your dog's exercise seriously: proper walks, real time outside, and plenty of stimulation. My hands-on experience comes from regularly walking and caring for two very different dogs — a Staffordshire Bulldog and a French Bulldog. I’m currently working from home with good flexibility. I can work around the schedule for helping out. Weekends should be free in the day too. My flat is a cosy, well-kept one-bedroom on an upper floor — no balcony or outdoor space, but we’re just a 5-minute walk from a park, so dogs get outside plenty. There are a few flights of stairs to get up to the flat, which is worth knowing for smaller or older dogs.

About: I’ve been professionally dog walking since 2018 and have experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities, including larger and stronger breeds. In 2020, I moved across the country and put dog walking aside while I built my own business Jingo Pets. Now that it’s established, I finally have the time to get back to dog walking, something I’ve really missed. I specialise in solo, on lead walks because I believe this is the safest and most personal way to care for your dog. One to one walks mean your dog gets my undivided attention, and I can tailor the walk entirely around them, whether they love exploring and sniffing, need a good energetic walk, or prefer a gentler pace. I treat every dog in my care as I would my own, with a huge amount of care, attention and protection. Safety is always my priority, while still making sure their walk is something they genuinely enjoy. You’ll also receive a photo and update afterwards, so you know how they got on. While your dog is with me, I look after them like they’re one of my own. I run my own local pet food business, which gives me the flexibility to fit dog walking naturally into my day. I deliberately keep my walking availability limited so I’m not rushing between lots of dogs. This allows me to offer a reliable, personal service and give every dog my full attention during their time with me. Your dog’s safety is my number one priority. I only offer solo walks, or walks for dogs from the same household, so they have my full attention throughout. Dogs remain safely on-lead and I’ll always follow your instructions around things like reactivity, triggers and routines. I’m also very security-conscious when entering and leaving your home. While your dog is in my care, I treat their safety exactly as I would my own dogs’.

About: I have loved animals and especially cats since i was around 5-6 years old. I would spend my pocket money on cat food for the strays i had taken in. I have been a cat parent for the last 30 years. After taking my current fur baby in from the streets i have developed an even deeper understanding of cats through trials and errors. I have now learnt to be even more patient and understand how difficult it is to find a really good cat sitter you can use regularly. Due to a cats nature and especially a nervous one like mine a routine and things being done the same way their owner/fur parent would do them is of huge importance for their health and wellbeing. This is why i have decided to sign myself up in the hope i can be of service to like minded fur parents and save their fur babies from any undue stress.

The most important thing is that my cat liked Beatrice, which meant she responded well to Beatrice, ate her food and took her meds. Beatrice took my parcels in, put the bins out and gave her cuddles. Thank you Beatrice, it’s a weight off my mind to have someone I can rely on.

She also took initiative to learn his routines to help him with his seperation anxiety while we left him alone for thre first time at length. Would highly recommend and use again!

I'm currently working part-time at a public park with a farm onsite meaning that I have plenty of time to help look after your lovely dogs. I am available all times of the day and have no issues following a routine that some particular dogs may have so not to disturb them and stress them out. We had a great experience with Zahra. She took excellent care of Momo, followed all her routines, and sent regular updates with pictures that gave us real peace of mind. Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Dagenham pet parents with similar pet households.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dagenham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
