Ideally, I might have chosen without kids, but I also wanted to create opportunities for Futon to interact with kids. When I found out that Kevin's home was nearby and reached out, he kindly said "Let's give it a try", and I truly appreciate his willingness to take on the challenge. This boarding expense was a trial run in preparation for a longer stay in the future. Since it was the first time leaving my dog with someone else, I was nervous. About: For years I have helped many friends look after their dogs, ranging from small senior Cocker Spaniels to energetic Beagles. I have helped friends by staying over with their dogs or walking them daily, some friends have had dogs with very special needs due to their age which I have no problems dealing with and making sure they are as safe as they can be. About: I'm an active, outdoorsy person who genuinely loves being around dogs. I take your dog's exercise seriously: proper walks, real time outside, and plenty of stimulation. My hands-on experience comes from regularly walking and caring for two very different dogs — a Staffordshire Bulldog and a French Bulldog. I’m currently working from home with good flexibility. I can work around the schedule for helping out. Weekends should be free in the day too. My flat is a cosy, well-kept one-bedroom on an upper floor — no balcony or outdoor space, but we’re just a 5-minute walk from a park, so dogs get outside plenty. There are a few flights of stairs to get up to the flat, which is worth knowing for smaller or older dogs.

About: I have had dogs all throughout my life, our current dog, Rascal completes our family. She’s a labradoodle x springer, and is not fussed about other dogs, and loves human attention, but is always happy to share us with other well mannered dogs. Rascal was a rescue from a home with 7 dogs who were unable to care for her properly, so she is comfortable in a large pack. I work from home so am happy to host your dog with us. I have a large garden which is easily accessible all day, and live right next to a big park with woods for good daily walks. I am happy to be quite flexible and can pick up / drop off for a fee too if you need. I work from home most of the time and am largely able to mould my schedule around your needs, I don’t leave Rascal on her own so your dog would always be with me. I have a large, fully fenced back garden where the dogs can play, and a walled in front garden meaning it’s a very secure environment. Our local area has loads of parks and woods, we are generally not comfortable walking dogs we don’t know off lead as I don’t want to risk something going wrong, however if your dog gets to know and trust me well, knows the local area well, and you’re confident in their recall I may consider it. Rascal is a combination of two working dog breeds so we play lots of scent and seeking games for mental stimulation.
