“Jamie was fantastic - he came for a visit before booking to meet the cats which was really helpful and helped them get to know him, and he looked after them really well while we were away. I had quite a few needs (including charging GPS collars) and he did a great job, including opening windows in the hot weather and the cats love him. The photos were appreciated too. I've already rebooked Jamie for my next trip away. Highly recommended!”

“Louise was a star ! She took the time to get to Know how newt likes to play and be loved and even what his favourite toy was! My house was nice and tidy when I came home and newt was happy! Couldn’t ask for more ☺️”

“Kayleigh obviously connected immediately with my cat, Monty and gave me complete peace of mind. From the photos and messages she sent it was clear that Monty didn’t miss me at all! I will certainly be requesting Kayleigh again next time I go away.”

About: Hiya, I’m Tania. An animal lover here to help with all your pet caring needs! After losing my senior dog in 2023 (Yorkie on my profile), my home is now free to help other pet owners. From walks, feeding, giving pesty medication and of course, lots of cuddles. My job would make it unfair to own another dog so I get my fill of slobbery kisses from other pet-owners. As each animal is one-of-a-kind, a meet and greet is vital to ensure we’re a right fit for each other. While you’re away, you can expect regular picture updates! I work full-time so update my calendar regularly for all pet caring activities. Including park walks, exploring the local area of Chester-le-Street and the occasional beach trips (with owner’s permission). I have a full height fenced back yard with an internal lock, full privacy and security camera to the front and rear of the property. There is no grass so if your dog is fussy with only going to the toilet on grass, we may not be the right fit. However, there is a field a 2-minute walk away which will get plenty of use. All animals will have roam of my house (unless request crates) and will be cared for as if my own! Please message if you have any questions!

About: My family have always owned cats (and a tortoise!) and taken care of neighbours/friends cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and rabbits so I have plenty of experience. I also used to work on an equine yard where I was in charge of the resident cats, dogs, sheep, horses, and cow so I'm not fazed by large animals. I enjoy long walks so would be happy to walk your dog in the local area if needed, but also like to stay indoors and play with cats and dogs. I'm currently a PhD student at Durham University so can offer morning (before 9am) and evening (after 5pm) visits/walks Monday to Friday, then any time at the weekends. I will always check with the owner on their pets preferences and how to handle them before visiting and will always make sure I am in the vicinity of your pet. When dog walking I will always have an eye on your dog in case anything happens.

I'm currently a student But i have plenty of time for dog walking service and play time. About: Hi! I’m a 3rd year Biology student with a lifelong love for animals. I’ve had a dog all my life and I’ve looked after cats, hamsters and rabbits. I’ve had experience looking after friends dogs as well as working in a cattery for two years to assist with cat care. I understand the need to find somebody you trust with your pets and I treat every animal as if they were my own. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding, playtime, or giving meds, I’m here to help your pet feel happy and safe while you’re away. As a University Student I have a very flexible schedule. I am free every weekend and every evening to help care for your pet. As well as this, over Summer I have a fully open schedule to care for your pets. This will allow me to complete drop in visits and overnight care depending on what you and your pet require. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow the specific routines and instructions you provide, whether it’s for feeding, medications, or walks. I make sure pets are always supervised and never put in unsafe situations. I take time to build trust with each animal so they feel calm and secure with me. I’m gentle, patient, and attentive to their needs - whether that means a quiet cuddle or an energetic play session. I will always respect your home when sitting there and keep doors locked, leashes secure, and never leave pets unsupervised outside. You’ll get regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away!

“Rebecca, came for a meet and greet and my three dogs LOVED her! I usually only ask a friend who knows the dogs well to look after them as Phoebe is deaf and has Dementia, Maggie is very over the top and Frankie can be too rough with both the girls but especially with Phoebe. I knew straight away that they would be fine with Rebecca. I had to attend an all day event and booked 2 drop in visits. Rebecca took photos and gave me updates. When I arrived home I think the dogs were disappointed it was me and not Rebecca!”

“We are very grateful to Alison and Romy for looking after our 2 cats for 10 days with daily drop in visits. They were kind considerate and respectful to our fur babies and our home. We are hoping to rearrange future visits. Cant recommend them highly enough. Thank you both so such 🙏”

About: I have been fond of animals since childhood, and I have a lot of experience in raising cats and dogs, and I have also raised a lot of fish. I enjoy spending time with animals! I am now studying law as an international student in the UK, and I hope to have access to my favorite animals through the Rover platform! About: I have owned and cared for dogs, cats, fish, frogs, and mice for over 15 years. I've cared for (and sometimes helped train) pets owned by roommates, landlords, and family members. I have handled animals with a wide range of dietary and behavioral needs, including traumatized animals. I also have a scientific background in pet care! I am a biologist by education, and recently finished an internship at a behavioral research center, where I worked closely with dog pups, recording their interactions and helping the trainers when things got a bit too aggressive. My work is part-time, remove, and flexible, so I am pretty available during the week (Monday-Friday). I have commitments most weekends (Sat-Sun) but may be available on a case-by-case basis. I prioritize boundaries and communication when in someone else's space. I want you to know exactly what is happening with your home and your pet so you can feel safe and secure. I am loving with animals but believe in training and setting boundaries. This occasionally calls for a firm scruffing (with your permission), but I will never hit or otherwise cause physical pain to your animal, nor will I tease or neglect them.

“Great service, the animals were all well looked after and happy. Very happy using Miriam”

“Reliable and good comms”

About: I've been around animals my whole life, growing up with a large dog and later caring regularly for friends' dogs—and even the occasional rabbit. I'm now the proud owner of a 4-year-old Cocker Spaniel named Jinx and a playful Oriental Shorthair cat named Luna. Caring for animals is second nature to me, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I go on daily walks and love exploring woodlands and beaches—because, let’s be honest, what’s life to a Spaniel without a daily swim? I currently work weekends, so I’m available most weekdays and would be thrilled to have your dog join Jinx and me on our everyday adventures! I have a reasonable sized, fenced garden. Pets are allowed on furniture/beds. Toilet breaks can be as needed. Regular walks and playtime are a guarantee.

About: I have had dogs from a young age and currently have a cockerpoo for past 8 years. I am local to Durham and my rates are the same whether it’s a holiday period or not. I work adhoc so can be available during weekdays and weekends. Just enquire and will let you know when / where and I’ll get back to you I have a fenced rear garden and have my own dog so can walk on their own or with company if my dog on a lead.

About: Hi everyone! I’m Ben and I’m 32 years old. I put my caring experience as 14 years as that is all my adult life but I have cared for pets since I was a child. We’ve always had family dogs and pets such as Hamsters, Rabbits, Guinea pigs and the list goes on. I always cared for the family pets and since moving to a house with my partner we acquired a dog of our own. Her name is Ruby. She was a beautiful puppy who we had to potty train etc. she is 8 years old now so I have experience for dogs of all ages. I frequently dog sit my parents whippet Paddy who has recently turned one. He’s a bundle of energy so I love taking him for walks and he loves playing with Ruby. Ruby has always been good with other dogs and likes the companionship. Unfortunately Ruby was hit by a car when she was 2 years old. This resulted in her breaking her neck and being paralysed. I have experience in constant loving care as after Surgery it was up in the air if she would ever walk again. She required 24/7 care and rehabilitation for 3 months and I was able to support her enough and do what was necessary so she was able to walk fully again. She loves to play with other dogs and make the most of it! I would love to introduce new pooches to her and we can have a good time playing, walking and caring for each other! I and my Partner currently work from home so Ruby gets, and has had, 100% of her time with us. As will your beloved pets :) I have a fully enclosed large back garden and enclosed front turfed yard. Ruby is very friendly and loves having companions to play with! I will do the upmost and care for your dog exactly how requested whether it’s them needing cage rest or sleeping on the bed with me (as Ruby does!) or if they require special or specific food I would make sure each dog gets what they require. Anything they need let me know and I’ll do/sort it out! :)

About: I am the dog whisperer of my town. I love all dogs and have vast experience in walking and caring for a huge range of breeds. You can be sure your pet will be in good hands. I currently work from home Monday to Friday, my daytime is flexible and I am able to take short breaks. I have every evening and every weekend free to walk and play with your dog I have a large fenced garden with grass and hard standing And your dog will have the run of the full downstairs of my home
About: Hi, I’m Pin Yi! I’ve always loved animals and have spent over five years caring for my three cats back home in Taiwan. Living with them taught me how to be patient, observant, and attentive to each pet’s unique needs. Since moving to the UK for my Master’s degree, I’ve really missed being around animals, so I’m excited to offer pet sitting and dog walking services here in a kind, caring, and trustworthy way. I’m currently a postgraduate student at Durham University with a flexible Term 3 schedule, which gives me plenty of time every day to care for pets. I’m available for dog walking, drop-in visits, daycare, and boarding—whether it’s for regular routines or occasional help. I’m happy to follow your pet’s needs and schedule to make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Although I live in a quiet, pet-friendly student accommodation, I’m fully committed to providing safe and comfortable care. I’m happy to visit your home for feeding, walks, or companionship. I treat every pet like they’re part of the family, and I’m always careful to follow the owner’s instructions closely.

About: I’ve been surrounded by all types of cats and dogs for as long as I can remember and have always revelled in taking great care of them. I'm currently training my own family dog, she's a sweet natured rescue dog from Romania and it's been so rewarding seeing her progress so quickly, especially with learning English! I’m currently a student at Durham Uni so will only be able to work in the holidays (longer than school holidays). I'll always try to work around you and flex my availability wherever possible. Also happy to give discounts for repeat services! I'm very patient with dogs and always take things at their pace, so as not to overwhelm them in any way. I will always give dogs the space and time they need to feel happy around me, I love making special bonds with every dog I meet and take care of.

“Tania is a perfect candidate for this, she looked after my dog for 4 days while I had to go away and she did a great job, she fed them very well, even went out her way to buy joey treats while I was away, he really liked her as well and never misbehaved but she tended to all of his needs, I knew I could trust her to look after my buddy. She walked him, got a good bed lay out for him, took him to the beach a few times, she even gave me updates how he was doing while I was away. I really recommend her capable and responsible and passionate enough to look after anyone’s pet when they need it :)”

Lucy B.
“Lucy has always been a big animal lover, says she prefers the company of animals to people! We had a cat for many years and she was always the one giving the biggest cuddles and attention. When out and about she will always be the one to spot a cat that needs stroking or a dog to pat. We have had a tortoise for years and again Lucy is the one to make sure he is fed and looked after, when she is home from uni. Lucy can be relied upon at all times to do a good job. Lucy will be ideal for any pet sitting needs and will give the love and attention required at all times.”

Brandon H.
“Brandon did a fantastic job with the house's puppy, Lexy. When we were struggling to train her, Brandon came in and gave us hope. He was kind and gentle with her but firm and assertive. She took a shine to him almost instantly. He established a "pack order" that placed her below my roommate and me, conditioning her to acknowledge and respect our authority as 'elders' of her pack. Then, he taught us how to disciplined Lexy in ways that align best with dog psychology rather than the finger waging and stern words we were initially using. In addition, he taught Lexy the basics: sit, stay, and fetch. Learning from Brandon was fun. He was good at explaining things and genuinely cared for our pup's well-being. He's got such a passion for animals! I know he'll show your pet(s) the same attention and affection that he showed ours.”

Stephanie D.
“Over the past few years Steph has looked after two of my pets - a rabbit and a cat. I can’t say enough good things about how attentive she is, Steph treats them as her own and gave me the best updates so I could easily see how they were getting on. Our rabbit was treated like like a little prince, and our cat had the time of his life playing with her. Steph loves animals and understands how to provide the best care for them, partly due to the fact that she’s an experience pet owner herself!”

Benjamin F.
“Benjamin is truly a pet loving person whose calm and patient nature goes a long way when looking after a beloved pet. Benjamin has looked after our dog Widget in the past , who was quite a large Mastiff cross and a very nervous girl, however, Benjamin had an amazing way with her and I knew she was in good hands. Benjamin made the whole process of organising the dog sitting easy with communication throughout . Benjamin is very trustworthy and responsible and I have absolutely no reservations at all about recommending him to care for anyone's pet, and I will certainly use his services again in the future.”

“If I were a dog, I’d want Pin Yi to be my best friend! She’s fun, sweet, and knows how to make animals feel relaxed and happy. She’s always full of positive energy, and you can tell she genuinely enjoys spending time with pets.”

Archie L.
“I've always found Archie to be a trustworthy and likeable young man. He's patient and kind with animals and they gravitate towards him. He will always encourage and praise good behaviour. He's a thoughtful and caring individual and has grown up with pets (dogs and cats). He will respond according to the personality of the pet, if they're energetic he'll play with them, if they're quiet and less adventurous he'll be calm and nurturing. Would definitely recommend.”
