Sid got out for plenty of walks and had lots of attention from all the family. The house was very neat and tidy when we arrived and they had a great yard out the back for play during the day. We would happily have Sid stay again, they were great with updates and Sid was a happy boy the whole time!”

About: I’ve always loved animals and have grown up with both cats and dogs, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. I also volunteer at an animal shelter, where I help look after animals with different personalities, needs and backgrounds. I’m patient, caring and happy to take the time to help each pet feel comfortable and safe. Most importantly, I treat every pet as if they were my own and make sure they get plenty of attention, affection and reassurance. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine, as I only work part-time two days a week from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. This gives me plenty of free time throughout the week for visits, feeding, playtime, walks and keeping pets company. On the days I work, I am still available in the afternoons and evenings, and I can be flexible around each pet’s usual routine. I always make safety and comfort my main priority. In my home, pets have access to a secure, fully fenced garden and a calm, welcoming environment. I also have a friendly grey Russian Blue cat called Wally. He is used to other animals, has a gentle nature and usually spends much of his time outdoors. Any introductions would always be done slowly and supervised to make sure every pet feels comfortable. When caring for pets in their own home, I carefully follow the owner’s instructions and keep to the pet’s normal feeding, walking and sleeping routine. I make sure doors, gates and windows are secure, keep the home tidy and provide regular updates so owners can feel confident that their pet is safe, happy and well cared for.

Ollie and Meg have just come home after spending 10 wonderful days with Beth and Aisling, and we honestly couldn’t be happier with the care they received. Leaving them was something we were quite anxious about, especially as they’re older dogs, but Beth and Aisling made the whole experience so easy. Our Lily stayed with Nicole for a week and had a great time! Nicole sent us daily video clips and photos of Lily enjoying her big long walks and Nicole even took her out on the river in a Kayak! Nicola looked after Luna for a week. Great communication and updates daily which was nice. They clearly bonded, so well that Luna had second thoughts about leaving Nicolas house. Ben & Daisy were so well looked after by Dave. He took time to get to know their personalities and their quirks and they were so settled and happy in his care. Ben, in particular, can be nervous with new people but he loved Dave. When I went to collect them, Ben actually followed Dave back into the house! Elaine and her family recently looked after our Shih Tzu Olli for 2 weeks while on holiday. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience! Stormi is only 10 months old, and this was her first time being away from home for a whole week, so we were naturally a little nervous. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
