About: I have always grew up with dogs. My husband and I travel a lot for work and this is the main reason we never had a dog. I recently have taken a career break and want to do the things that I enjoy. I love animals and I feel they are a humans best friend. I am currently on a career break. I do travel with my husband however I can work my schedule around any dog walking or sitting. We live in a lovely area in Belfast on the Malone Road. We live in an apartment that has lots of garden area and we are close to Malone park. Our family dog Duke who was a black Labrador always stayed with us and just loved it here.
“Sid had a great time with Anabela, Daryl, and Matteo! It was so nice to see how great Matteo was playing with Sid, it had the added bonus of tiring Sid out with non stop play! Sid got out for plenty of walks and had lots of attention from all the family. The house was very neat and tidy when we arrived and they had a great yard out the back for play during the day. We would happily have Sid stay again, they were great with updates and Sid was a happy boy the whole time!”

“Paul was amazing and stepped in at super short notice, which we really appreciated. Frank is still a little puppy and Paul gave him so much attention and care. We felt totally at ease leaving Frank with him. Would happily book again - thank you, Paul!”

“Bailey had a great stay with Jamie, he was treated like family. Bailey is an elderly Shi Tzu with some funny quirks but Jamie took it all in his stride! He sent me updates every day and that was very reassuring. Can't recommend this dog sitter highly enough, will definitely be booking again.”

“Fiona is lovely and welcoming, she took our girl for 3 nights to help us get a well needed break. She kept me well updated an Phoebe seemed to settle well an feel right at home. Will definitely use Fiona in future!”

“Absolutely excellent from Maeve. Clover had a fantastic time. We were kept updated with lots of videos and photos of clover over the 2 days and we will 100% use Maeve as we can tell he was very well looked after.. Thank you”

“Agnieszka and her family were absolutely amazing and took great care of Brick during his stay. Agnieszka jad great communication and sent me lots of updates and pictures throughout his stay. Would highly recommend!”

About: I have had dogs and small animals my whole life! I am well experienced with both low-energy level as well as high-energy level (I grew up with Australian Cattle dogs), and so am able to provide an environment that is mentally enriching and suited to your pet! Additionally, I've had rabbits and guinea pigs in the past, and so am used to managing the needs of unique/diverse animals. I am currently enrolled in my Masters of Law online, and so spend majority of my day in or right around the flat studying. I do work part-time in a bar, but this is only a 2 minute walk from my house, and at the moment I am only working Saturdays, so your pet would never be left alone too long. As I am home most of the day, your fur baby will always have the option of my attention. Although I do not have a fenced in yard, I take several small walks a day already to maintain a clear head. I am also only around the corner from the Botanic Park, so outside time can be easily adapted to your pets needs!
“Highly recommend Caitlin and Andrew to look after your dog. Bobby settled in very quickly and they clearly lavished him with care and attention during his stay. Great communication in sharing photos to reassure us all was well. We would definitely use Caitlin again.”

“I have been absolutely delighted by the professionalism and dedication to detail of this couple. I have a much older dog with many challenges including a lot of medication and he was looked after in my home by Sarah. Communication was amazing throughout my stay. I was given regular updates and was able to relax fully knowing my dog was in good hands. Toby really bonded with Sarah. She took him on walks, gave regular meals and medication. The couple both went above and beyond to understand Toby and my own anxieties. My home was left impeccably. Highly recommend.”

“Aine was absolutely amazing looking after our little puppy. Charlie had the best time ever & was pooped when he got home from all his playtime and adventures. Aine kept us updated and sent some photos to put our mind at ease. Highly recommend Aine. Thank you so much ❤️”

“We left our dog with Elaine for 6 nights. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Elaine and her family. From the very first meeting, it was clear Elaine loved animals and was incredibly responsible, attentive and trustworthy. We knew we were leaving our pup in great hands. Throughout the stay, we received regular updates and photos. It was such a relief to know that Margarita was not just cared for, but truly loved while we were away. If you’re looking for someone dependable, communicative, and full of heart - look no further. Elaine is an absolute gem, and we will hopefully use her dog sitting service again. Absolutely outstanding dog sitter.”

About: Hi, I'm Shireeka and I live with my best friend Brick the pug. I'm in my thirties, Brick is 3 and we live in a lovely 2 bedroom house with a garden. Being a dog Mammy I know what it's like to worry or feel guilty when you leave them for any period of time ❤️ so I really wanted to give back what Rover sitters provide for me: a safe and loving place to take care of fur babies. It's also Brick and I's dream to have a full wolfpack one day but for now making new besties will be great! I work from home and have a decent sized enclosed garden and house for dogs to roam in. Me and Brick love going for regular walks and live close to a couple of great parks so would love some friends to join us! I work from home so myself and my pug Brick will enjoy the company for daycare or boarding! We love going for regular walks in the local parks everyday too and would LOVE some friends to join us. I have a fully walled concrete back area for toilets and have a great sized living room with lots of dog toys, beds and a comfy sofa to nap and play on. My fun, socialble 3 year old pug Brick is very excited to make new friends.
“Sarah and Codaí were great with Eddie and took such good care of him for a week. It was his first time being away from home for that long and he came back really relaxed and happy. We would definitely recommend Sarah and Codaí to look after dogs as they are so kind, relaxed and reliable!”

“💯 if it was possible to give 10 stars we would. Cannot recommend Niall and Henrique highly enough. Coco had an absolute ball on her overnight stay. Regular updates and photos to let us know what she was up to. Will definitely be booking Coco in for another stay! Thank you!! 🥰🥰🐾🐾”

“Isla and Michael were fantastic! You can tell they really love caring for dogs and they went above and beyond with DD our 11 yr old French bulldog. They made sure she was well looked after, played with her constantly and took her on regular walks. We are delighted to have found someone we trust with our four-legged friend and will be using them again without hesitation.”

About: There’s honestly no better company than a happy dog. I’ve had dogs for most of my life, growing up with Golden Retrievers and later sharing my life with my beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, Nanook. After losing Nanook a few years ago, I was lucky enough to welcome Koda into my family, and my love for dogs has only grown stronger. I started Paws at Home Belfast because I genuinely love having dogs around—not just for me, but for Koda too, who enjoys making new four-legged friends. As a dog owner myself, I know how difficult it can be to leave your best friend behind. The thought of them spending their time in a kennel can be stressful, and it’s natural to worry whether they’ll feel comfortable and happy while you’re away. That’s why I wanted to create a true home-from-home experience where dogs can relax, feel safe, and be treated as part of the family. When your dog stays with us, they become part of the household. They’ll enjoy comfy places to snooze, regular walks, plenty of attention and affection, and a secure fenced garden where they can explore, play, and sniff to their heart’s content. I keep things calm, clean, and fun, ensuring every dog receives the care, companionship, and routine they’re used to. We’re conveniently located just a five-minute walk from local playing fields, a dedicated dog park, and the local veterinary practice, giving your dog plenty of opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and safe adventures during their stay. I work from home two days each week on a rotating schedule, which allows me to provide plenty of attention and supervision throughout the day. One week I work from home on Tuesday and Thursday, and the following week on Monday and Friday, alternating on a bi-weekly basis. I am also available on weekends, giving me flexibility for dog sitting, boarding, and daycare. I always aim to accommodate owners' needs where possible and will keep my availability calendar up to date. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. When boarding in my home, I provide a calm, welcoming environment where dogs can feel relaxed and cared for while they’re away from their family. I take the time to get to know each dog’s routine, personality, and individual needs, making sure they receive the right balance of walks, playtime, attention, and rest. I follow all owner instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication, exercise requirements, and any special preferences. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos throughout their stay. My goal is to make every dog feel comfortable, safe, and loved while they’re in my care.
“Eleonora is a lovely person! She is very caring and loves dogs. Bowie was in good hands with Eleonora. She kept me updated daily with pictures and messages. I would absolutely use her services again and would recommend her to anyone.”

Patricia is a very kind, responsible and caring sitter that my rescue dog loved her. She responded my messages quickly and shared photos and videos while I was away. I appreciate her communication and gentle approach. She is a real dog friend, and a great person. I highly recommend her 🩷🫶 Thank you for looking after my dog as if she were your own. It really means a lot to me. 💐

We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter! Lana, our 21 month old Maltese stayed with Chelsea for 3 nights in July. We also made use of her collect and drop home service which was great. So handy. Chelsea did an amazing job! Such a lovely, friendly and caring person. She treated Lana like her own and we especially appreciated all the videos and pictures she sent, keeping us fully informed and reassured throughout our holiday. Definitely our go-to sitter from now on! Thank you Chelsea for taking such good care of our wee Lana xx I would highly recommend!

Lily Rose looked after my Maltese for a week and she was absolutely brilliant! My dog is quite nervous and timid so I was initially quite worried but Lily Rose knew exactly how to help her settle in! Lily Rose provided me with regular updates on how Bonnie was doing which helped me to feel at ease as well! Bonnie was content and happy the whole week thanks to the amount of care and attention Lily Rose provided her. I would 100% recommend Lily Rose as she can cater for each dog's specific needs and personality, and Bonnie and I hope to see her again!

Mirja was so flexible, kind and thoughtful! Benji, our anxious terrier, immediately fell in love with her and had such a great time. Mirja very kindly sent regular updates on how he was and what he was doing and she was so amenable to all Benjis quirks and needs! Can’t recommend her enough! Thank you xxx

Eddie was so great with Daisy! We had no worries at all about her welfare while we were away and knew she was being looked after as one of the family. Great updates throughout our holiday and it was clear that Daisy was getting on very well with Eddie's own dog, Winston. We've never left daisy for as long as we did this time but Eddie made it easy!

"We couldn't have asked for a better sitter for Marley! Marley came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. Loved the regular updates and photos throughout the stay, it really put our minds at ease. We'll definitely be booking again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive sitter for their dog.

Ollie and Meg have just come home after spending 10 wonderful days with Beth and Aisling, and we honestly couldn’t be happier with the care they received. Leaving them was something we were quite anxious about, especially as they’re older dogs, but Beth and Aisling made the whole experience so easy. From the very beginning, they kept us updated with lovely photos and messages, which gave us so much reassurance and allowed us to truly relax while we were away. It’s so clear how much they genuinely love dogs. Ollie and Meg were cared for with so much kindness, patience, and affection—it really felt like they were treated as part of the family rather than just being looked after. They came home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for, which says everything. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Beth and Aisling and honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will love and care for your dogs as if they were their own, you won’t find better. Thank you both so much for taking such amazing care of our two!

Highly recommend Caitlin and Andrew to look after your dog. Bobby settled in very quickly and they clearly lavished him with care and attention during his stay. Great communication in sharing photos to reassure us all was well. We would definitely use Caitlin again.

Agnieszka was a lifesaver! She took my dad's dog at the absolute last minute during a sudden hospital emergency. She was fantastic, providing excellent care and peace of mind during a very stressful time. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Northern Ireland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
