Kind and gentle. My dogs are friendly but my Yorkie can be a little suspicious of people and get shy. She instantly attached to Ciara which was super nice to see. Ciara is respectful and seems to really love cuddling with dogs and playing with them (wasted on my lazy girls). Very happy and delighted to have met her - have booked her to come look in on the girls again this weekend.

About: I work part time as a vet so am experienced with working with all animals, especially cats and dogs. I have my own cat (Cobweb) and I adore her. I know how hard it can be to find someone reliable and trustworthy to take care of her when I'm away so I can assure you I will take great care of your pet(s) and send you lots of updates. I am new to Rover so please feel free to message me with any questions you may have. I also have a current access NI check/ CRB for work. I have several years of experience of working with animals of different temperaments and will make sure they feel at ease and happy. Your pet's happiness and wellbeing is my top priority! I am happy to give different medications as required and to be attentive to each animal's individual needs, i.e. elderly dogs that might need ramps to access areas or go in the car; or timid animals that need space and time to come to you. I really love working with animals and am a very active person and love walking, running and hiking and would love a dog companion for these activities if you have a high energy dog needing extra exercise. My schedule can vary a bit each week and be flexible so please message me with any requests and I can let you know. Equally please feel free to message me you need any further info about me before booking 😊 I normally work Monday- Friday so would generally schedule visits & walks before and after work and lunch times. My schedule can be flexible though so please send through any requests and I can let you know quickly. We have our own cat at home so can't really offer boarding as she's scared of dogs. Nothing is more important to me than a pet's happiness and wellbeing so I am happy to spend time with your fur baby to get to know them and give them as much comfort whilst you're away as possible. I am happy to play with them and make sure they get plenty of exercise or just chill with them depending what they need. As mentioned before medications are no issue for me and if I have any concerns about your pet I will let you know right away. Please let me know as much as you can about your pet's routine and any specific instructions and I'll be sure to follow these and try and keep your pet's routine as normal as possible so they feel safe and happy.

About: Hi, I'm Stacie. I've worked with dogs in a variety of settings in both Ireland and Barcelona, including dog walking, pet sitting, and boarding kennels. One of the main reasons I started offering dog walking and pet sitting services is because I've seen firsthand that many dogs are much happier and more relaxed staying in a home environment. I know from experience that being cared for as an individual rather than a group and keeping their usual routine, and receiving one-to-one attention can make a huge difference to your dog's wellbeing. I have experience with dogs of all breeds, ages, and personalities, including anxious, nervous dogs. I take the time to get to know each dog as an individual, building trust and ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and happy in my care. Whether your dog loves long walks, sniffing adventures, or simply needs company while you're away, I'll treat them with the same care, patience, and affection that I would my own dog Indie 🐶🐾 I'm currently very flexible and happy to work around your schedule to find what suits both you and your dog best ☺️ Having returned from Spain, where I worked with dogs, I now have plenty of availability for regular walks and pet care. Whether you're looking for daily walks at set times or more occasional support, I'd love to help and provide reliable, personalised care for your dog. Your dog's wellbeing will always be my top priority, and I'm happy to work with you to create a care plan that suits their individual needs and personality. 😁🐾

About: Hi there ! I'm Liz, I'm currently living in Belfast completing my PhD at Queen's University Belfast. I’m someone who has grown up around animals - we have always had pets since I was tiny! But having moved away from home I’m currently living away from my family pets (Dolly, a lakeland terrier who is my best friend in the world, and Erik, a very grumpy Russian blue cat!) I have lots of experience looking after dogs and cats of different ages, sizes and needs (you can meet some of them if you look through my photos!) I also volunteer with Rosie’s Trust, a charity which helps individuals going through cancer treatment or end of life care, look after their pets. This means I have received comprehensive training on animal behaviour, care and training, to be able to fill their days with plenty of love and affection to keep your companion happy and thriving! 💗 As a PhD student I am really flexible in terms of home working and can plan my day to suit your pet’s routine! I am able to dedicate plenty of time to caring for all your animals needs. As a PhD student, my time is really my own and I have a lot of flexibility in terms of my schedule, so am happy to work around your fur bestie’s schedule and needs accordingly! I am an active person anyway, often walking twice a day, so I have plenty of time to make your pets as happy and entertained as possible while they stay with me <3 I live in a house with no other animals in the home and no small children. My home has outdoor space and lots of access to the local greenspaces (Ormeau Park, Lagan Towpath etc) on my doorstep, which is perfect for keeping your fluffy bestie occupied!

About: My partner Sarah and I both love animals and give them as much attention as they require ☺️ We currently have an 8 year old beagle who is diabetic and blind in one eye. So we are well used to giving attention, belly rubs, sniff requests and giving different types of medication - injections, eye drops and oral. We have senior cat experience with our late cat Tabby who had arthritis and was on multiple medications. My partner and I work from home with one of us available to stay with the animals, available most evenings and weekends with enough notice. My own dog will be in the house. The back garden is completely fenced and covered, even my own little escape artist hasn’t found a way to escape just yet. House is fully free to roam for all animals.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with two pups of my own, Wilma and Poppy, who are a big part of my daily life. I’ve been caring for dogs for as long as I can remember, regularly looking after family and friends’ pets of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I know how important it is to feel confident leaving your dog with someone who will treat them like family. Whether your pup loves long adventurous walks, playtime and enrichment, or simply snuggling up on the sofa for cuddles, I’m happy to tailor their care to what makes them happiest. Having my own dogs has given me plenty of hands-on experience with different temperaments and routines, so I’m comfortable adapting to each dog’s individual needs. My goal is always to make sure every dog in my care feels safe, loved, and right at home. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend! 🐾 I work as a support worker during the week and usually finish at 3pm, so I’m available for dog walks and pet visits from mid-afternoon onwards. I’m generally free most weekends as well, which means I can offer plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-ins, or extra care when you need it. After-work walkies are absolutely welcome! I currently offer pet sitting in the owner’s home, as I find pets are happiest and most comfortable in their own environment and routine. Before any booking, I always arrange an initial meet-up so we can get to know each other, make sure it’s a good fit, and go through your pet’s routine, needs, and any important details. During the sit, I focus on keeping things as normal as possible for your pet – whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding schedules, medication if needed, or plenty of cuddles and company.

Polina looked after my 8-year-old British Shorthair, Elias, for 9 days with daily home visits, and honestly I couldn't have asked for more. She sent photos and a short update every day, so I always knew he'd been fed, had fresh water and got some proper attention. Elias can be a bit reserved with new people, but he clearly took to her — in some of the photos he looked more relaxed than he does with me! I came back to a calm, happy cat and everything at home exactly as I left it. Polina is reliable, warm and genuinely good with cats. I'd book her again without a second thought and would happily recommend her to anyone.

About: I’m a Canadian law student at Queen’s University Belfast and a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. From energetic puppies and curious kittens to senior pets, small animals, and those with special behavioral needs, I adapt to each pet’s personality and routine. I pride myself on being reliable, caring, and attentive, making sure every pet feels safe, happy, and loved while in my care. As a student with a very flexible schedule, I have plenty of gaps between classes and free time on weekends, which makes it easy for me to fit pet care into my daily routine. This flexibility allows me to reliably provide walks, visits, and care at times that work best for both you and your pet. When caring for pets in their owner’s home, I always focus on keeping them comfortable and maintaining their normal routine. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully for feeding, walking, playtime, and any special needs, while also giving plenty of attention and affection. Caitlin is truly an angel! She was absolutely amazing with our two cats, Loki and Gibbs. She sent us lots of updates and photos while we were away, which really helped ease the cat-mum guilt! It was so reassuring to see that our babies were happy, comfortable and clearly enjoying themselves. Her updates made us laugh so much too, they were well and truly spoilt while we were away! From before the booking right through to the very end, Caitlin was incredibly attentive, reliable and always quick to respond. It’s easy to see why she is rated so highly and has such wonderful reviews. Bless her, she even took in a couple of parcels for us while we were away, which was so thoughtful and very much appreciated! We’ll absolutely be booking with Caitlin again if we’re fortunate enough to get away on another holiday soon. Knowing Loki and Gibbs are being so well looked after gives us such peace of mind. Thank you so much, Caitlin, for taking such wonderful care of them. Lots of love from Loki and Gibbs. We’re sure they’ll be very happy to see you again soon! x Many thanks again, Carly & Colly 🖤

Katie is great . We have never left Athena for one night before this holiday and were very nervous about how she would react . Athena took to Katie from their first meeting . Even going to the door looking for her as soon as she left . Throughout our time away, Katie provided us with regular communication , pictures and videos showing a happy cat . Highly recommend and we hope Katie can look after Athena in the future .

And she used our cat's puzzle feeders/ biscuit balls which she loves so again this was really appreciated. She sent us plenty of updates and was really easy to get hold of & quick to respond. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Belfast choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
