“Chanice was amazing, so friendly and kind. She clearly loves animals and treated our pup so well. She provided lots of updates and photos. We would definitely book her again. Thanks!”

“Heidi was absolutely wonderful! It was our first time away from the puppy and we were all fairly nervous about it. Heidi gave us fabulous updates with lots of pictures, clearly took loving care of our pup and, as my kids said "Luna is having the time of her life!" We can't wait to get Heidi back!”

“Natalie & her partner, Sarah, stepped in to care for Beau last minute when another Rover sitter fell through. Between the 2 of them, they cared for Beau in our home, leaving him only for short periods. We got plenty of updates, and we came home to a happy dog & a spotless home. We couldn’t have asked for more. Beau highly recommends them to any clingy doggo in need 🥰❤️”

“I highly recommend Caitlin. Incredibly kind, professional, and asked many questions to ensure my dog and cat were well taken care of. She also sent regular updates with photos. Our pets loved her and we came back to a tidy home. Definitely someone you can trust”

About: I grew up with many animals around me - From childhood dogs and cats to hamsters, guinea pigs, snakes and axolotls ! I have an extreme passion for animals and not being able to have my own animals in a rental has got me severely missing having a furry friend around. I’ve raised many sizes of dogs from a jack russell to a mastiff, and love all breed equally ! As well as taking care of my personal family animals i have dog and cat sat for many family friends :) I work 9-5, Mon- Wed , so my evenings and weekend are free along with Thursdays and Fridays . I’m very active so long walks/ Hikes are no problem , I also drive so getting to your dogs favourite location is easy ! In your home I am happy to feed, brush, bathe and take care of all your dogs needs ! I am familiar with dog training and am happy to follow any rules or wishes you have for your dog regarding crating , commands and tricks to keep them happiest and healthiest
“Shannon was absolutely fantastic! She looked after Patrick in our home on the day after our wedding and it gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. She kept us updated and gave him plenty of walks which he was delighted about. We came home to a happy dog and a spotless house, so very happy 😊”

About: I’ve been helping my neighbours and friends take care of their dogs and cats, and I also have hands-on experience caring for cats and bunnies. I’m patient, gentle, and genuinely enjoy spending time with all kinds of animals — I don’t mind looking after other types of pets either! Whether it’s feeding, walking, or giving them some extra affection, I always make sure they feel safe and happy. I currently work part-time, so I just need at least one day’s notice to arrange my schedule. Once confirmed, I’ll make sure to give your pet my full attention and care during the booked time. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully, making sure pets are fed and have fresh water as provided. I love spending time playing with them, giving cuddles, and making sure they feel comfortable and happy. If they enjoy going out, I can also take them for up to an hour of walking and outdoor playtime.
About: Hi there ! I'm Liz, I'm currently living in Belfast completing my PhD at Queen's University Belfast. I’m someone who has grown up around animals - we have always had pets since I was tiny! But having moved away from home I’m currently living away from my family pets (Dolly, a lakeland terrier who is my best friend in the world, and Erik, a very grumpy Russian blue cat!) I have lots of experience looking after dogs and cats of different ages, sizes and needs (you can meet some of them if you look through my photos!) I also volunteer with Rosie’s Trust, a charity which helps individuals going through cancer treatment or end of life care, look after their pets. This means I have received comprehensive training on animal behaviour, care and training, to be able to fill their days with plenty of love and affection to keep your companion happy and thriving! 💗 As a PhD student I am really flexible in terms of home working and can plan my day to suit your pet’s routine! I am able to dedicate plenty of time to caring for all your animals needs. As a PhD student, my time is really my own and I have a lot of flexibility in terms of my schedule, so am happy to work around your fur bestie’s schedule and needs accordingly! I am an active person anyway, often walking twice a day, so I have plenty of time to make your pets as happy and entertained as possible while they stay with me <3 I live in a house with no other animals in the home and no small children. My home has outdoor space and lots of access to the local greenspaces (Ormeau Park, Lagan Towpath etc) on my doorstep, which is perfect for keeping your fluffy bestie occupied!
“Alina is a wonderful sitter. She truly enjoys dogs and Dash is so excited to see her. The energy she has for longs walks with him (he’s an Australian Shepherd so lots of energy) is amazing. I enjoy her enthusiastic reports and the photos and videos she sends - I can see how very happy he is with her and it’s very reassuring. Her communication is excellent and she leaves the house just as she found it. A+++”

“Patricia went over and beyond in looking after Milo and we came back to a very settled dog. She assisted by picking him up early on the day of departure and dropping him back on the day of return. Patricia kept us informed as to Milo's wellbeing and at all times we felt that he was in the best hands and in the company of someone with vast experience in dealing with dogs. Milo even got the benefit of a few day trips away! We literally could not have picked a better person to look after our dog. Could not recommend highly enough.”

“Great dog sitter! And a bit of a lifesaver. We have just made a big move and one of our dogs is really anxious as a result. Rebecca came to watch over both girls whilst I managed to get a little escape to the theatre. Rebecca kept everyone calm and well cuddled and took the girls out for their breaks. Incredibly happy for Rebecca’s kind and calm attitude. 100% will ask Rebecca to come back to us again!”

“Couldn’t recommend Joshua enough! My boys were very well looked after and had a great time! The photos and videos he sent made that very apparent ☺️ one of my dogs can be strange with men but after a walk they were instant friends! Will most definitely be booking with them again ☺️ thank you again! Especially from Chase and Enzo!!”

“I cannot praise Aimee enough! She was wonderful with my nervous boy, she came to meet him before her stay & he was so happy to see her again! Bert is looking forward to having her stay in the summer”

About: Hi! We’re Andy and Caitlin — lifelong animal lovers and experienced pet owners who know that pets aren’t just pets, they’re family. Caitlin has an older cockapoo named Bobby, and Andy has grown up with large breeds, including a St. Bernard and a Bernese Mountain Dog/Collie mix, so we’re comfortable with dogs of all shapes and personalities. While we’d love to walk and spend time with big dogs, our home is best suited for small to medium-sized pups right now. We’re both extremely caring and affectionate — expect plenty of cuddles, playtime, and company for your furry friend. In our home, pets are welcome on the sofa, and yes, they’re more than welcome to curl up on the bed too! Your pet will be treated like one of our own, with lots of love and attention while you’re away. 🐾 We both work a hybrid week — three days in the office and two from home — which means there’s always someone around during weekdays, especially for drop-ins, walks, or day care. Weekends are completely free, and we love spending them outdoors running, taking long walks, or relaxing in dog-friendly spots (often with a pint of Guinness in hand!). We’re happy to fit pet care around our flexible routine and make sure your furry friend gets plenty of love, exercise, and attention throughout the week. 🐾 We live in a safe, peaceful area with plenty of nearby green spaces and dog parks — perfect for walks and playtime. As lifelong animal lovers, we’re both naturally caring, attentive, and careful people, especially when it comes to looking after pets. We understand how important it is to meet each dog’s individual needs — from exercise and feeding routines to cuddles and quiet time. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always our top priorities, and we’ll treat them with the same love and attention we give our own. ❤️🐶

Shannon House sat my wee dog Bobbi for a week when I was in Spain at my daughter's wedding. I had the best week as I knew my wee dog was so happy with Shannon. Every morning and night she sent me photos and texts about Bobbi. Bobbi loved her and has actually been a bit down since she has left. I will definitely be asking her again to mind Bobbi when I go on holiday. Thank you Shannon so much, you have been great. X

Thank you sooo much for taking care of Tilly and our home at late notice for a week. Tilly gets really anxious every day but it was so nice to get updates of you giving her Lollies each day. She is really good since we got back which isn’t always the case. Thankyou so much.

Was a bit nervous about leaving Ollie while we go on holiday but he warmed to Chanice after the first meeting, we knew he would be well looked after whilst we're away. Chanice sent lots of updates, photos and even a few videos - of one happy boy! Allowed us to relax our holiday. Would recommend 110% will be booking Chanice from now on! Thank you x

We cant thank Niall and Henrique enough for taking such good care of our miniature schnauzers Winston and Zach. We were so nervous leaving them as they have never stayed with anyone but family before and we know they can be very barky!! Lol From the initial meet and greet we knew the boys would be very well cared for and loved like their own. Winston and Zach even pulled on the lead to get into their house as we dropped them off! Niall and Henrique were very responsive, sent regular updates and photos/videos and the boys looked like they were having the time of their lives. We cant recommend these guys enough and we will definitely be using them again in the future. Thank yous so much!

Caitlin is the most attentive and considerate cat sitter we could have asked for. Not only did she charm our shy cat in a blink, she also sent regular updates with photos and details about our wee man. I highly recommend Caitlin and we will most definitely ask her to mind Dillin again!

Emily really saved the day by accepting my booking last minute. She house sat for 4 days and my house was left in a better condition than when I left. My dog Fergie seemed happy and healthy when I got back which is all I can ask! I also got updates while I was in my trip. I can’t recommend Emily enough and will definitely be using her services again

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Belfast walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Belfast choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
