About: I grew up with rabbits and various small pets. My first dog, Toto, was trained by me in elementary and middle school. Now, I spend my evenings caring for others animals whenever possible! I work 7:30 am to 3 pm as a teacher! My day does allow for a mid day visit, distance depending! Free every evening for walks and lots of attention! Experienced with crate trained dogs and more free range styles. Love building trust with animals and keeping their days typical and calm while their owners are away!

For dogs, I ensure your dog is closely monitored and on leash when outdoors. For cats, your cat will be monitored and kept in your home. Colleen is so great! We have a typically nervous pup who warmed up to her immediately. Colleen took the time to understand her and was patient with her. She made us feel comfortable leaving Sasha in her hands for her first time staying home alone. Thank you!! 😊

Linda takes great care of my 3-pet crew when I'm out of town. She really caters to my senior dog's likes and dislikes, and she also makes sure my 2 cats are cared for too. She is very dependable and I know they are well cared for and I don't have to worry. I especially love all the photos she shares since I always miss my fur babies when I'm gone!

About: I always knew I wanted to work with animals, but it wasn’t until I started working at a kennel that I discovered my true calling: dog training. In September 2023, I made the decision to pursue this path seriously by attending National K-9 Dog Training School in Ohio, where I earned my certification as a professional dog trainer. Now, I’m proud to turn that passion into a career. I’m deeply committed to helping dogs and their owners build strong, respectful relationships, and I love sharing my training methods to make a positive impact on both ends of the leash. I’m trying to get my small business out into the world and taking small steps like this will help me! I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your fur babies! I'm available for boarding and weekdays. My schedule with my part time job changes each week but I make sure to let my clients know! I will ALWAYS be talking to your fur baby! They become family once entering this home. I currently live in an apartment that has a designated area to bring your dog to have fun off leash!

Jeannette was absolutely amazing. This was my first time using the Rover App for a weekend away and I was very comfortable with leaving my dog in her care. She was very communicative, active with my pup, and just went above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of. Definitely recommend, Jeannette, 100%!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and did over night visits. For friends and family. I also have taken care of puppies that were 6 months. I’m currently working part time at Costco. I normally work night shift and have two days off. I could walk dogs in the morning or at night I normally feed them twice a day once in the morning and the other at night. I would walk them three or four times a day. I would then take them outside to either play or run around in a safe environment.

About: I have been around dogs since I was born, my parents have had a total of 6 dogs and 1 cat, which we fostered. I currently take care of a beagle/cocker spaniel mix and a boxer/lab mix, so I have experience with smaller and larger dogs. I am currently working a flexible part-time job. My Rover calendar is updated each week according to my weekly job schedule. I am able to accommodate walk times around my shifts. I endure safety depending on the owner, checking all windows, doors, and gates are locked 24/7. I keep the residency clean and organized and clean up after myself and their pets.

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was a kid. My friends, family and neighbors ask me to watch and take care of there dogs when they are away. I'm currently laid off from work so I am flexible with my days and hours at this time. That may change in the future once I find employment but that will all be communicated. Meet & Greet: I always schedule a pre-booking visit to meet you and your dog, review routines, habits, medical needs, and confirm house rules. Access & security: I follow your preferred entry method (key, lockbox, smart lock), never share access, and ensure doors/windows are locked when leaving. Emergency preparedness: I keep your vet and emergency clinic contact info, a signed care authorization, and your dog’s medical records on hand. I’ll seek veterinary care immediately if needed and notify you right away. Medication & feeding: I follow your exact feeding schedule and portion sizes, and administer medications precisely as instructed (documented each time). Safety checks: I remove hazards, secure trash and toxic items, supervise interactions, keep collars/tags on, and avoid off‑leash situations unless explicitly allowed and safe. Familiar environment: I maintain your dog’s normal routine (walks, play, rest spots, toys) to reduce stress and preserve your home’s layout and cleanliness. Cleanliness & hygiene: I clean up accidents promptly, sanitize bowls/toys when appropriate, and follow any special cleaning instructions you provide. Supervision & enrichment: I provide appropriate exercise, play, and mental stimulation tailored to your dog’s age and energy level while monitoring for signs of stress or illness. Communication & updates: I send regular check‑ins with photos and a brief report after each visit (or as often as you prefer).

About: Hi! I’m Nicolette. I have over 15 years of experience caring for dogs for friends, family, and neighbors, and I truly enjoy spending time with pups of all breeds and sizes. I have a dog of my own named Prince, a 10 year-old, 30 lb neutered German Pinscher who is very friendly and still acts like a playful puppy. I work from home Monday through Friday, so your dog will receive plenty of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I’m available for pet care Monday through Sunday. My home has a fully fenced yard and a friendly dog to keep your pup company. Dogs in my home are treated like family — couches and beds are welcome unless you prefer otherwise. My goal is to make sure your dog feels comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I’m currently working from home Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm. Every other Monday I do go into the office from 9am-3pm. I am available to watch your pup any day Monday-Sunday 😊 I have a fenced in yard and one playful dog to keep your fur baby company! Unless instructed otherwise, no couches or beds are off limits to pups 🐶 My dog lives like a King over here 👑 & I would treat your fur baby the same way!

About: I grew up having pets since I was born, including dogs, turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs and others. My daughters and I have taken care of our neighbors and friends dogs, and we have experience interacting with cats from my brothers and friends. We have a cat named Pumpkin and a guinea pig named Cozy, but my daughters are longing for any dog-sitting especially, so we have plenty of space, love and affection to spare, if needed. I am a teacher with my summers off. My daughters are in camps periodically, but we are largely staying local throughout the rest of the summer, and I have a number of house projects that will keep me based at home for most days. I have a pet-friendly townhouse community that I live in. Safe, slow-moving cars, dog-walking areas with doggie bag stations, coupled with open grassy areas, and conveniently located near several close-by parks and even a dog park 10 minutes way. Other dogs are leashed in the community. If needed, your dog can be kept in our finished basement, with plenty of space to move around. In your home, if you prefer to have the dog walked nearby and/or caged at night, that will not be a problem.

About: I have a senior yellow lab (almost 13 years old!) who has been in my life since he was 8 weeks old. As he gets older, more and more care is required for him. Along with that, I have worked with families of different dogs when dogsitting is needed. This care ranged from small to large dogs at all stages of life. I enjoy playing in the yard with them. As someone who has had a dog for so long, I know how people want their dog treated when they are away. I am offering love and care to your dogs while you are away, so they don’t feel lonely at all! I am looking for weekend dog sitting plans. I work a full time job during the week and will not be able to provide the care I hope to for your dogs on the weekdays. As mentioned, I know how much our dogs matter to us! I will do exactly what you request with your dog! Whether that is walks, playing, certain food techniques and more!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 8,666 sitters on Rover offering Dog Sitting across Trainer. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Trainer stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Trainer choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Trainer with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Trainer. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
