“Dante is the best! He’s our go-to walker. He’s great with our dogs, gets to know them, and is great at what he does. Thankful for his reliability and flexibility too.”

“Amanda was great! She is always on time and makes our dogs care her priority. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a responsible dog sitter or walker.”

About: At age 12 I had community flyers posted for pet care. I have provided in and out of home care for many years. I have cared for dogs, cats, reptiles and aquatics. I am currently a stay at home mother of a school aged child. 8 - 9am and 3 - 4 pm are the only times of concern. That is my daughter's bussing schedule. I have a senior ( 15 y/o) fully vetted male cat. I also have a precious 2 year old beagle/scent hound mix dog. My pup is fully vetted as well . A year ago we had a new and secure vinyl fence installed. I also have a thriving freshwater community fish tank. My tank has produced fry and additional freshwater plants. This has given me years of pet care experience and growth. I have done a little bit of everything. I was a volunteer dog walker in a city shelter. I have taken care of an extra large terrestrial sulcata tortoise.
“Cara is the BEST! My buddy Apollo is always happy to see her because he knows he’s going for his walk that he loves. Cara is always pleasant, great with Apollo and has concern for his welfare whether it’s too hot, if he can have a treat, or if he pooped haha! Cara rules!”

About: Hi! I’m Nicolette. I have over 15 years of experience caring for dogs for friends, family, and neighbors, and I truly enjoy spending time with pups of all breeds and sizes. I have a dog of my own named Prince, a 10 year-old, 30 lb neutered German Pinscher who is very friendly and still acts like a playful puppy. I work from home Monday through Friday, so your dog will receive plenty of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I’m available for pet care Monday through Sunday. My home has a fully fenced yard and a friendly dog to keep your pup company. Dogs in my home are treated like family — couches and beds are welcome unless you prefer otherwise. My goal is to make sure your dog feels comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I’m currently working from home Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm. Every other Monday I do go into the office from 9am-3pm. I am available to watch your pup any day Monday-Sunday 😊 I have a fenced in yard and one playful dog to keep your fur baby company! Unless instructed otherwise, no couches or beds are off limits to pups 🐶 My dog lives like a King over here 👑 & I would treat your fur baby the same way!
“Gabrielle has been a blessing to our new family member, Lupin, and to us, since she has been providing a daily mid-day walk and something for Lupin to look forward to now that we are all back to work. 🐾🐾”

“Matt is very reliable and good with my dogs!! Matt has even gone the extra mile when I had asked him last minute to let my contractor in when I wasn't able to leave work! Glad to have found Matt when I moved to this area!”

About: I’ve been around and owned dogs my whole life and have gained an unconditional love for them. Your dog will be in great hands, that is a guarantee. Dogs will get the proper love and care that is needed. Your pooch will always be played with, fed, walked and pampered to the max with me. I get just as excited to see a dog as a dog would be to see me, so our energies together will make for one exciting day in the park, a run, or just even a leaisurely stroll around the neighborhood. My schedule is quite flexible and I will always try my best to accommodate to your and your pets needs. I really look forward to getting to work with the many dogs on here. I would love to take care of pets on a daily basis! Animals have always been a passion of mine. I absolutely love being around pets whether it be my own or someone else's! I take my dog, Ace, on daily walks in the morning and at night. We play in the backyard whenever the weather allows us to. Ace is a big part of my life and I give him the best life I can possible give him. We do everything together whenever I am home. Between eating meals together to taking naps together. I would give anyone else's pet the same attention and compassion I give my own dog because that is what pets deserve.
“Alex is awesome and we're lucky to have found her! She has excellent communication, was great with our dog, and had perfect availability for us. Even from the first time meeting Zoey, she seemed much more involved and responsible than most of the other dog walkers we've used. She was super patient with our dog even when she was jumping a bit, and she came right on time as we has requested. We will absolutely use her again!”

About: I always knew I wanted to work with animals, but it wasn’t until I started working at a kennel that I discovered my true calling: dog training. In September 2023, I made the decision to pursue this path seriously by attending National K-9 Dog Training School in Ohio, where I earned my certification as a professional dog trainer. Now, I’m proud to turn that passion into a career. I’m deeply committed to helping dogs and their owners build strong, respectful relationships, and I love sharing my training methods to make a positive impact on both ends of the leash. I’m trying to get my small business out into the world and taking small steps like this will help me! I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your fur babies! I'm available for boarding and weekdays. My schedule with my part time job changes each week but I make sure to let my clients know! I will ALWAYS be talking to your fur baby! They become family once entering this home. I currently live in an apartment that has a designated area to bring your dog to have fun off leash!
“I have ZERO concerns when Honey is in Cassandra’s care!! She is friendly, punctual, a great communicator & can tell she really loves her job and all of the animals! 10/10 would recommend, I’ll definitely be rebooking for Honey again in the future!”

“Jordan is patient and kind when working with my dog. She is punctual and flexible if you need her to be. I have already booked her for another walk and will continue to do so in the future.”

About: I’ve had animals my whole life and have been involved in rescue for 5 years! I’ve pet sat/ walked dogs for friends, family, and neighbors numerous times! I’m currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to give to your pets! I am available for pet sitting/ dog walking weekly after 10am. You & your pets trust and safety is number one! I always prefer to do a meet and greet before providing services to ensure we will be a great match!

Beth did such an amazing job and was so patient with Betsy who can be very shy at first. Beth went the extra mile and came and met Betsy ahead of time to make her more comfortable. She sent updates of their walk and showed so much care towards Betsy. I highly recommend Beth, she is great with dogs and is a very reliable and outstanding dog walker!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Trainer. On Rover:
- 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
