“I needed a place to board my dog for a night while my husband and I went to a wedding. Our dog has been to standard daycare facilities but isn't fond of being left alone so we didn't like the idea of her staying in a kennel. Alison was really accommodating and assured us that our sweet girl would get plenty of attention and play time with her own dogs, which is perfect because our girl loves to make friends. We were afraid that she'd have trouble settling in because she's very attached to us, but we were put at ease when Alison sent a picture of our girl sleeping on a comfy couch. They also made sure she had her allergy meds and food. This is exactly the environment and attention our dog needs to be comfortable being away from us for a bit. Thank you so much for watching her!”

“Annie comes back so very happy and calm and she is so well taken care of! She loved it at her home away from home! Thanks for being so loving and kind and for the pictures! We had a great time scrapbooking knowing Annie was in good hands.”

“Marina and Michael took excellent care of our furry baby while we went on a trip and left her for the first time ever. She sent lots of updates with pics and made it so much easier being without our girl for a week, knowing she was in good hands :-)”

“Matt was great! Our boys, Hammer & Chisel, were well taken care of! Also, great communication from Matt made our first time using Rover a smooth experience. You won't be disappointed if you choose Matt to look after your fur babies, he's laid back and a pleasure to work with!”

“This was an amazing stay for my dog Stella! I got daily pictures & updates. I felt safe to leave Stella for a week & they really love to take care of pets. They welcomed Stella as if she was theirs which I appreciate as I was gone for a long time. 10/10 recommend!”

“Jane is amazing! I'm so happy I found her to dog sit while me and my family were on vacation. She sent us lots of pictures and kept us updated on how he was doing every day. Couldn't be happier!”

“Cori took excellent care of Bonnie!! She sent updates, pictures, and videos throughout the whole stay. I would 100% have my dog stay with her and her family again!”

“Tammi and her family were wonderful with my little girl Hazel. This was my first time using Rover and first time ever being away from Hazel. I was worried about being away from her, but she absolutely loved her time at Tammi’s. It was like she had her own little vacation. I received updates from Tammi on how Hazel was doing which was great. I think Hazel misses all of the other dogs she got to run around and play with. I can’t recommend Tammi enough and would not hesitate leaving Hazel in her care in the future.”

“We were very happy with Kim. She communicates really well and is great with dogs. We were using another sitter and we would get our dog returned a hot mess— but not with Kim. She is very kind, and caters to our dog’s needs and preferences to make their stay very easy and comfortable.”

“Milo stayed with Laura for the first time and it seems like he had a great time! She was great about sending updates on how Milo was doing and acclimating to his new environment. We know Milo has a safe, comfortable place to stay!”

“Lauren and Wynn were so wonderful with my 3-month-old puppy, Remy!! They took such great care of him and sent me photos and updates every single day. Remy also had a great time with their dog, Rocky. He didn’t want to come home. Will definitely choose Lauren and Wynn next time I go away!”

“Metrica kept me updated along the way with check ins and photo/video. Lexi was happy when I dropped her off and picked her up. Metrica accommodated my diva little girl perfectly. Would definitely use again.”

“She is amazing and I can’t thank her enough . My pup is always well taken care of , she works with your schedule and is very knowledgeable. Grateful for finding her through Rover!”

“Tricia is so great and amazing. My dog, yuzu loves it when she is with Tricia. I love how Tricia sends daily updates with photo. She truly is the best. I recommended her to all of my friends”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
