“Needed a sitter last second and tried Rover for the first time. I’m so glad I picked Mattie! She was super responsive and really was great! And our dog literally loved her during a quick pre-visit and she’s usually wary of new people. I can’t thank Mattie enough!”

“The ease of mind Susan provides for us knowing our boys are well taken care of cannot be overstated. She picked up on their personalities and routines straight away and we feel very lucky to have her watch over our boys when we’re gone.”

“Cathy was fantastic looking after our cats. We got lots of photos each day, which our previous Rover didn’t do. We will definitely have Cathy watch our cats next time we head out of town.”

“Tori took great care of my kitties! I returned from a trip to find my house and pets well cared for, clean, and happy. Thanks for putting in the time and cuddles and I appreciate the terrific communication!”

“I was so worried about Simon but I came back from a 3week vacation and he was wonderful. I know this is because Alison took such good care of him. She was awesome. I would completely recommend her.”

“Alexis was great! The cats were comfortable with her and she was very communicative. There was a plumbing disaster that came up unexpectedly and she notified me immediately + waited around to let maintenance in.”

“Emma was amazing. She was able to help me with very little notice. She was attentive & very communicative. I felt super comfortable leaving my fur baby with her and I will definitely book with her in the future.”

“Kayla is amazing!! She spent a lot of extra time with our pups this week which was so kind. Her communication and follow through were excellent as well. I highly recommend her and we will book her again.”

“Courtney was wonderful with our kitty. She met all our expectations, even sending daily photos. We feel blessed to have found her and will certainly use her again. We give her the highest recommendation.”

“Saul was really good with my cats and sent me timely updates. One of my cats is shy and hides away and he made sure she was doing ok every time he visited. Overall I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a nice person to look after their pets.”

“I have had Megan persist my cat, Peaches whenever I am out of town since October 2024. She has been a wonderful sitter and I feel very comfortable leaving the care of my precious girl in her hands”

“Blake did a great job checking on our cats while we were away! He was even able to help with the inhaler for our cat with asthma and feed our bearded dragon. Would definitely recommend Blake!”

“This was my first time using Elisabeth and I am very satisfied with her services! She was very attentive and informative in the notes and made me feel calm and at ease when she cared for my fur babies. I definitely would use her again and recommend her to others.”

“Hayleigh was absolutely incredible during her check‑in visits with Luna and Charles over the past couple weeks. Her communication was flawless—transparent, detailed, and consistent every single day. I always knew exactly how the pups were doing, and it was clear they adored her. She cared for them as if they were her own, and that peace of mind is priceless. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life and of all ages. but I have specifically taken care of puppies and middle age dogs. Those dogs I have worked with the most with. I had a senior dog in my household that I took care of until she unfortunately passed from cancer and I had administered medication to her and such. I have also taken in 2 foster dogs one with separation anxiety and other medication issues due to being in the shelter. I would have to give her medication and baths on the regular due to her having multiple accidents in her crate. With the second dog they were a 2 month old puppy that I fostered for a weekend and took to an adoption event where they had gotten adopted. I want to make sure all animals are loved and cared for while there owners are away and so that the owner don’t have to worry and know there fur babies are okay. I take care of my pets at home already so it’s really just a built in thing for my schedule. It’s an easy thing to do during the day or to end your day with as well so it all just fits in nicely. And who doesn’t want to end their day with some snuggles. I want to treat my clients pets how I would want my pets treated. I wouldn’t mind any them to be pushed to the side or just be let out and then leave I would want my pets to be played with and have some attention and love before heading out just so they know that someone is looking out for them until their owners are back

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
