“I am so happy with Taylor! She was so kind to all of my animals and treated them like her own. She sent me the most thorough and detailed summary of her time at my house. I know she enjoyed them and I could tell by her many pictures that they loved her. I have two dogs and a recovering feral cat and they were in wonderful hands! Very much appreciated.”

“Megan has taken care of Peaches for me several times. I really appreciate knowing there is someone I can count on to take good care of my fur baby when I am gone. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets”

About: I regularly pet sit for friends and family. 1-3 weeks mostly; but can do just a few days as well. Private home with a fenced yard. Dog lead in yard is available. I love to walk! Short or long walks are all fine with me. I’ve been around dogs my entire life. I’ve owned 3 in my adult life. I even fostered a dog for 9 months! It was hard to give her up; but she went to a loving home. I’m honest and trustworthy and dogs just make every day better! I work a pretty flexible schedule. I’m retired so I have lots of time. If your dog likes car rides and public parks…awesome! There’s also 2-3 dog parks not far from my house I have a big yard that's about 70 yards deep and I have a secured lead in both front and back yards. For added safety, I attach an air tag to your pets collar. There are sidewalks all around my neighborhood for safe walks on a leash. I'm not a fan of dog parks. I prefer to select my walking path to ensure your pets safety. I live alone.
“Bethany was absolutely incredible and took perfect care of my boys! She gave them lots of love and attention while I was gone and followed their routine. She went out of her way to make sure they felt comfortable and even gave them something new to play with. She is amazing, thank you Bethany!”

“Breanna was great taking care of my cat, Chad! I appreciated her updates and meeting to get the spare key and instructions beforehand. 10/10 would ask for her help caring for him while I’m out of town again!”

“I am beyond grateful for Alison’s exceptional care of my dog. Not only did they provide all the basics—feeding, walks, and playtime—but they went the extra mile to make sure my dog was safe during a snowstorm. She was incredibly. It was evident that Alison thought about my dog and when above and beyond and truly cares about animals, and I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such capable hands. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, thank you for your kindness and dedication!”

“Angel was super attentive to my cats while I was away, and coordinated with me through complicated travel schedules to make sure they would get the care that they need! I’m super thankful for her 💙”

“Susan did a great job taking care of my cat! She communicated very well with me before and during her visit using the Rover card, including pictures and details of her time there. She even put him outside into his cat condo for a bit while there! She also watered my potted flowers for me. I will book Susan again and highly recommend her!”

“This was our first time using Hannah and she was awesome! Super easy to communicate with, flexible with several changes in needs on our end, and our pups seem to love her. We look forward to using her again!”

“Cathy was fantastic looking after our cats. We got lots of photos each day, which our previous Rover didn’t do. We will definitely have Cathy watch our cats next time we head out of town.”

“Lots of great updates, looked like they had great quality time together! Brought peace of mind to see pics of my kitty having such a fun time when I had to find someone to take care of her at the last minute”

“Saul was great with our dogs! He asks a lot of questions and makes sure to do exactly what you want. He clearly cares about the dogs. Highly recommend”

“Nicole is awesome!! Apollo loves when Nicole comes over to take him for walks! She also sends the best pictures of him while I’m at work! She even braves the snow to make sure he’s taken care of, a real gem! Couldn’t recommend her more!!!”

About: I grew up in a home full of animals and have been caring for pets my whole life. My family always had dogs—everything from a Yorkie and Dalmatian to two Beagles and a sweet white Boxer who was deaf—so I’m comfortable with a wide range of breeds, personalities, and energy levels. I also cared for rabbits, chickens, and several guinea pigs, giving me experience with different types of pets and their unique needs. Whether it’s dogs or other small animals, I’m patient, attentive, and treat every pet like part of the family. My schedule is best suited for weekend sitting, as I work full-time as a second grade teacher and usually have evening yoga classes or seasonal volleyball matches during the week. However, I can be flexible depending on the week—just let me know in advance and I’ll do my best to accommodate! I take pet safety and comfort seriously, and I always treat every animal as if they were my own. Your pet will get plenty of snuggles, attention, and a calm, caring environment while they’re with me. I’m happy to do walks as needed, follow your pet’s routine, and make sure they feel secure and loved the entire time. My goal is for you to feel confident that your furry family member is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“Lauren did a wonderful job taking care of our three cats while we were out of town. She was communicative/responsive and also took care of mail and plant watering to boot. The house was in great shape when we returned home, and our kitties were clearly in good hands during our absence. I can’t recommend Lauren more highly and will definitely work with her again!!”

“Corey is the best! He has been regularly dropping in on my two pups for a few weeks now and they absolutely love him. He is reliable, punctual, and just has a kind and calming presence. He knows and understands dogs well, and that experience shows. I would trust him with my pets any day!”

About: I have had multiple dogs since I was in elementary school. I have taken care of a variety of breeds, sizes, and ages, from puppy to adopting a senior Lab. I currently have a 1 year old Golden Retriever. I work from home 5 days a week, so taking care of my dog is part of my daily routine. We love to go on walks through our neighborhood and spend time outside. I have a fenced in, spacious backyard for plenty of outdoor play time. We treat our dog like a member of the family. We don't currently use a crate, but began the puppy phase crate training, so can provide/use a crate if your pup prefers one!

Fantastic sitter. Felt so comfortable having her keep an eye on our cats and apartment. Also let us know about emergency maintenance updates and sent daily pictures of our littles and loved on them a bunch. Will continue to book Hannah to watch our cats for our trips.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
