“Could not ask for a better pet sitter, Bethany took exceptional care of our two dogs while we were on a four day trip. Kept us continually updated, Porche and Lexi were in great hands, loved the care she provided and Bethany kept us updated on their status throughout. Her attention to details and care of both pets and home were exceptional. We will be a repeat customer - Thank You”

“Kathleen was amazing!! She took great care of Charlie and sent me pictures and updates to ease my mind! Would definitely recommend and plan on using her from now on”

“Sebastian did wonderful with our 7 pets (3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs)! He provided the unique care for each pet and kept them comfortable during fireworks. He kept me updated with pics and details. Our plans changed and he was willing to stay the night which was so appreciated! Our home was just as clean as we left it. Our pets seemed very content when we got home. Sebastian is a great and respectful pet sitter we’d love to hire again!”

“Andrew house-sat and watched my dog while I was out of town for a wedding for several days. We highly highly recommend him! He was so great with Parker (who can sometimes be a handful), took great care of her, was communicative, and very patient when some badly timed house problems popped up. Andrew also completely saved the day by extending his stay when my flight was canceled, and he left my house looking clean and tidy! Five stars!”

“Serenity has cared for our Poppy twice now, and Poppy loves her. I feel very comfortable leaving her in Serenity’s care. Serenity is kind and lovely - a delight to have her in our home! We hope to have her back soon!”

“Dawn is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! We are so happy to have found her and can’t wait to have her visit our baby in the future. ? She texted photos throughout the day and kept us up to date along the way. Thank you for loving our dog like your own!”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. Between raising dogs of my own and frequently watching dogs for my girlfriend, friends, and family, I've gained hands on experience with all kinds of personalities and energy levels. I'm comfortable with everything from feeding and walking schedules to play and cuddle time, and I'll treat your dog with the same love and care I give my own. I'm currently working full-time, so I'm only available for walks and drop-ins in the afternoons/evenings. As I grow in this role I may provide boarding services as well. I care for pets by adhering to the advice and guidance given by the owner. Additionally, I use my own knowledge of best practices to help ensure the pets are properly cared for.
“This is the third time Savannah has watched Reggie. He recently had IVDD surgery which called for him to have a bit of extra care. Her experience in animal behavior and working at a vets office really gives her an edge for assisting him. I know I can always put my full trust in Savannah with Reggie’s care.”

About: I regularly pet sit for friends and family. 1-3 weeks mostly; but can do just a few days as well. Private home with a fenced yard. Dog lead in yard is available. I love to walk! Short or long walks are all fine with me. I’ve been around dogs my entire life. I’ve owned 3 in my adult life. I even fostered a dog for 9 months! It was hard to give her up; but she went to a loving home. I’m honest and trustworthy and dogs just make every day better! I work a pretty flexible schedule. I’m retired so I have lots of time. If your dog likes car rides and public parks…awesome! There’s also 2-3 dog parks not far from my house I have a big yard that's about 70 yards deep and I have a secured lead in both front and back yards. For added safety, I attach an air tag to your pets collar. There are sidewalks all around my neighborhood for safe walks on a leash. I'm not a fan of dog parks. I prefer to select my walking path to ensure your pets safety. I live alone.
“Lux did a fantastic job watching my senior pup while I was away. He kept in touch daily with updates & photos to show my dog was in good hands. He was also flexible to accommodate my living situation & my dog’s needs. AND he left my place spotless after — so nice to come home to that!! Would definitely book again!”

“Alyssa was a wonderful sitter for my two dogs! She was very responsive and reached out when she had questions. I even got photo updates of the dogs! I will be using Alyssa again on my next trip in a few weeks.”

About: I’ve taken care of different breeds of dogs, As well as domestic kinds of animals. When working with different animals I make sure I know everything I can about their routine, training, schedules so that they are returned back to owner, the owner is very satisfied with my service with their pets. I connect very well with the animals so that they are very comfortable with me and so that owner feels confortabke entrusting me with their pets. With puppies i make sure to ask all necessary questions with potty training making sure they are taken out often, to any current training being worked on with owner at home. With senior dogs making sure any routine they are on with eating walking or any possible medications are kept on track. Please let me know if their are any questions. Currently I am a stay at home Mom. Any routine any owner needs me to stick with it will be worked with and stay on track with training. I can take 1-2 dogs at a time. I like to do meet and greets so that new pets and their owners can get to know me and feel comfortable with their pets being in my care. Would need to be potty trained and neutered/spade. I love animals that are cuddle bugs! I do not have a fenced in yard but my house large enough for play and can go on walks nearby by park by house. I make sure a gate is up in my house so I can keep an eye on all pets being watched.
“We couldn’t be happier with the amazing care Celeste provided for Jack, Tekken, and Princess Buttercup! She went above and beyond in every way. Throughout the weekend, she kept us updated with photos and messages, giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. Celeste was professional, attentive, and clearly treated our pets as if they were her own. Jack, Tekken, and Princess Buttercup absolutely loved her, and we could tell they were comfortable and well loved the entire time. We highly recommend Celeste to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and top-notch pet sitter. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Annabeth is amazing! She watched 4 of our pets while we were gone on vacation to St. Augustine. She sent pictures of the pets and had great communication skills. She was very polite and gave us great feedback when we asked about how the stay was because this was our first time using Rover. We have already offered her a 2nd job for the winter if she is available because she did so great. This is the person that you want watching your pets! She put us at ease and we felt that our pets and house were in good hands.”

“Taylor stayed with our dog for two nights over the weekend. She gave her so much love and attention, of course communicating with us throughout her whole stay. Taylor was amazing!”

“I cannot say enough good things about Luka! From a binder to take notes during our meet and greet, to great communication throughout the stay and truly going above and beyond for both our home and our pets over the holidays. Highly recommend and will book again!”

About: Hi! I’m Sydney, and I love working with animals. I’m responsible, caring, and patient, and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in my care. I’ve had hands-on experience sitting, volunteering and shadowing in animal care settings, which helped me learn more about pet behavior, handling, and daily care. I’m comfortable following routines, paying attention to details, and giving each pet the care they need. I do work part-time so I will have some availability throughout the week and on weekends, making it easy to provide check-ins, feeding, playtime, and lots of care for your pets. I treat every pet like my own and always follow the owner’s instructions. Whether in my home or yours, I’ll provide a safe, clean, and calm environment with plenty of attention, exercise, and care.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wilder
Serenity has taken care of Poppy three times, and it has been great to have her every time! When Serenity arrived, Poppy was so happy to see her! To me, that is the highest compliment one can give - that we are walking out the door and she is happy to see her caring friend! We look forward to having Serenity back soon!

We could not have asked for a better and more responsive person to watch our dog than Bethany! She kept us fully updated the entire weekend we were gone and sent us so so so many amazing photos. This was our first time leaving our senior dog in a very long time, and we were really anxious about being away from him, but the minute she got to our house I felt at ease and knew he was in the best possible hands. She loved our old guy as much as we do! I would book Bethany over and over and over again if I could!

Sebastian went so above and beyond for our pets and our home! We received lots of adorable photos of them having adventures, stops at our pups favorite places for pup cups, and lots of walks. Highly recommend him! Great communication and will definitely book with him again in the future!

Kayla did an amazing job caring for our pets! She was very responsive, kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear our pets were happy and well cared for. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter, and we will happily book with her again!
Jared was awesome! He always made me feel at ease that my pup was being well taken care of. I received many pictures and comments about my pup, while I was away. He went above and beyond taking him walks on trails. He made my dog very comfortable and relaxed. I will definitely be contacting Jared again for my dog sitting/walking needs.

We left our one-year-old Australian cattle dog mix with Taylor for 6 days (first time we've ever left Tilda with someone overnight since we're had her only a few months), and Taylor did a STELLAR job. We had had her over before to show her the ropes with our Tilda care, so during her housesitting stint, she reinforced what we'd been trying to teach Tilda and also added some good things from her own extensive experience with dogs. We were completely at peace with leaving Tilda in Taylor's care, and we came home to a better-behaved dog!😄 Taylor has got her house sitting routine down pat. She brings over her own stuff and then is fine with sleeping in your (clean) bed. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She's a mature professional who is up to any dog challenge.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Wilder on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,313 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wilder. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wilder walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wilder maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wilder choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wilder. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
