“Bethany was wonderful for our first time working with her! She was a great communicator and sent lots of photos and updates while we were away, which we really appreciated. She did everything we asked and we came home to a clean house and happy pets. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing everything was in such good hands :)”

“Kathleen was amazing!! She took great care of Charlie and sent me pictures and updates to ease my mind! Would definitely recommend and plan on using her from now on”

“Andrew was very accommodating and was very great at communication. He was timing and treated our dogs just as his own. You can definitely trust him with your dogs & home! We will be using Andrew again for future sittings!”

“Sean took wonderful care of my dog, Stassi, and my home! I was out of the country for 3 weeks and he stayed at my home the whole time. He was very thorough in gathering information about my home and Stassi before I left and asked questions I didn't even think of. His communication was professional and consistent. He sent me messages regularly about what was going on at home and with Stassi and even sent several pictures. My home was clean and as I left it. Most importantly he cared for Stassi as his own. I couldn't ask for a better dog sitter! Thank you Sean!”

About: I regularly pet sit for friends and family. 1-3 weeks mostly; but can do just a few days as well. Private home with a fenced yard. Dog lead in yard is available. I love to walk! Short or long walks are all fine with me. I’ve been around dogs my entire life. I’ve owned 3 in my adult life. I even fostered a dog for 9 months! It was hard to give her up; but she went to a loving home. I’m honest and trustworthy and dogs just make every day better! I work a pretty flexible schedule. I’m retired so I have lots of time. If your dog likes car rides and public parks…awesome! There’s also 2-3 dog parks not far from my house I have a big yard that's about 70 yards deep and I have a secured lead in both front and back yards. For added safety, I attach an air tag to your pets collar. There are sidewalks all around my neighborhood for safe walks on a leash. I'm not a fan of dog parks. I prefer to select my walking path to ensure your pets safety. I live alone.
“Alyssa was great with Zuzu! I needed someone last minute and she was able to help in a pinch. Zuzu also does not do the best with strangers, but took to her so well. Thank you so much.”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I’m patient, caring, and treat every pet like family. I enjoy walks, playtime, cuddles, and making sure pets feel safe and happy while their owners are away. I have a flexible schedule working a part time job that allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and sitting while making sure each pet feels comfortable and cared for. I have experience caring for my fur babies and understand how important it is to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. I always prioritize each pet’s individual needs.
About: I have dog sitted for close friends and work colleagues during graduate school. I am still new to dog sitting but I take direction very well and I am willing to learn new things and meet new people! I am currently a pharmacy resident and work mainly during the weekdays from 7am-5pm and work every other weekend starting this upcoming July. My availability for June is open during the afternoons and most early morning for weekdays and open on weekends! I make a point to follow instructions to a T, and if there are opportunities to go above and beyond, I will do so. If dog sitting, I make sure to give the utmost attention to your pet while also meeting your expectations. As for house sitting, I like to treat a home as if it were my own: tidy and organized.
“Brianna was so incredibly attentive to both our cat and dogs needs. Very communicative and kept us up to date on how they were doing throughout the weekend. Would absolutely recommend Brianna to anyone who is looking for a pet sitter!”

“this was our first time booking through rover. I was hesitant to trust a "stranger" with our dogs and in our house. also the investment in the dog sitting was a steep cost. but! IT WAS WORTH IT. I came home to happy dogs, clean house (our dogs have accidents) and updates along the way. one of our dogs is older and she was well taken care of based on her appearance coming home. Lux will be our regular sitter -if he will have us :) I highly recommend him!”

“Excellent Dogsitter-watched our two dogs in our home. Very responsive and sent updates regarding the dogs while we were away. Made sure the dogs got plenty of exercise. Will be a repeat customer!”

“Katie is an incredible petsitter!!! She managed taking care of my 3 pets, including one who goes to daycare 3 times a week. My husband and I went on a week-long vacation and I didn’t have to worry about our pets or home a single time. Katie sent me daily updates, which was awesome, and took the time to meet with us beforehand. Seriously can’t recommend her enough!”

“There is no one we trust more than Taylor on this app. The most recent time we used her services, our dog Churro unfortunately got sick right before he saw Taylor. She went above and beyond to make sure he is well taken care of during his sickness. He required more supervised care than normal and Taylor was there to help him get better, even though it meant she barely got any sleep a couple of nights. By the time we were able to return from our trip, he was already feeling better. Taylor put my dogs needs above hers and we are extremely grateful for her. Amazing as always and truly going above and beyond what was required.”

About: Family and friends started asking me to take care of their pets when I was around 15 years old. Ever since, I've taken care of dogs and cats (even a few lizards!) for people all over my hometown. I've done simple tasks like going to someone's home to just let the dogs out to potty and feed them, all the way to staying at people's homes while they're away. When I was between jobs as a teenager, I briefly worked for a local company that took care of pets on the daily. I've taken care of puppies, small dogs, big dogs, senior dogs who need meds and extra patience, etc. I have a huge heart and am a very empathetic person, especially when it comes to animals of any kind. I have always had a dog or dogs in my family, but am currently pet-less so I'll have all my love to give for your furbabies! I am currently unemployed for the next two months until I go back to school at the beginning of August. I’m very flexible when it comes to time up until then. If you continue with me until that time, then we can talk about what pet care will look like for me after that time frame. I currently do not offer care in my own home, but am more than willing to do whatever you need in your home. Walks, lots of hang out time, more than happy to find the nearest dog park to you (if your pups like others), maybe trips to the store for treats if you’re cool with it! I will always respect your boundaries no matter what.
“This is the second time Annabeth has watched our rescue pets. We have 5 so we know that can be a lot and all have unique personalities/needs so it is helpful to have hired someone who understands and can be patient with our pets. We see Annabeth as family.”

“Courtney did great taking care of my elderly Pugs and making sure they got their meds. She was eager to learn how to manage my paralyzed dog which was great and hard to find!”
The median cost per night for house sitting in Wilder is $45

Jared was awesome! He always made me feel at ease that my pup was being well taken care of. I received many pictures and comments about my pup, while I was away. He went above and beyond taking him walks on trails. He made my dog very comfortable and relaxed. I will definitely be contacting Jared again for my dog sitting/walking needs.

We left our one-year-old Australian cattle dog mix with Taylor for 6 days (first time we've ever left Tilda with someone overnight since we're had her only a few months), and Taylor did a STELLAR job. We had had her over before to show her the ropes with our Tilda care, so during her housesitting stint, she reinforced what we'd been trying to teach Tilda and also added some good things from her own extensive experience with dogs. We were completely at peace with leaving Tilda in Taylor's care, and we came home to a better-behaved dog!😄 Taylor has got her house sitting routine down pat. She brings over her own stuff and then is fine with sleeping in your (clean) bed. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She's a mature professional who is up to any dog challenge.
Austin took great care of our dog, Zeke, while we were away. It was such a relief knowing Zeke was in good hands, and we came back to a happy pup and a clean, well-kept house. We would absolutely trust him again and highly recommend him to anyone in need of a pet/house sitter!

FAQs for House Sitting - Wilder
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Wilder on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,346 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wilder. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wilder walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wilder maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wilder choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wilder. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
