Absolutely loved Rachel, as did my dog. I was nervous about Zeke meeting new dogs and this was the first time I chose to board Zeke. Rachel kept me updated with photos and messages and I had significant peace of mind. Will use her again.

We had a last minute cancellation with our previous dog sitter and decided to use Rover for the first time. Our dogs have never been away from home before and Rachel took such good care of our babies while we were away and made them feel right at home. She sent pictures of them everyday and responded super quick, if we ever need to board them again we’ll be reaching out to her first!

Schedule

I live for animals! “You’ll never work a day doing what you love”, and it’s true…but there is lots of cleaning and care involved. Dogs are daily therapy for all of us. I ensure that the pups are cared for, safe, & healthy as I would any of my children. They go wherever I go in the house and are monitored while outdoors. There is a second fence between neighboring dogs for their safety. They get brushed and neck massages each day and 1 on 1 attention. I work on my pups’ training each day, see to their health needs, and monitor them for any changes or issues that may arise.

Safety, trust & environment

In my home there are 4 floors and there are tall, wrought iron gates to separate each floor, if needed. They eat twice a day, unless directed, and are fed in different locations at the same time, as well. I provide toys for the pups and freshly cleaned dog beds for each one! Water bowls are located on each floor and a central white board with necessary information on each pup so that anyone else in the home is knowledgeable of their care. I introduce each pup to each other on neutral territory- my backyard and at a pace that suits each individual pup and for as long as it takes to make them comfortable. I vacuum every area daily and provide air purifiers as well as allergen HEPA filters in the HVAC unit. We have paw washers and towels at the ready if it is raining as well as a canopy, and a fan on the deck in warmer weather to help keep pups cool outside. The dog pool is cleaned and rinsed each day and the human pool is aboveground, but pups come swimming with us if they like water!

Pets

A typical day

I have an auto-immune disorder that causes deep scarring of my skin as well as other long term issues. I spend all my time at home around the pups & critters and work to ensure their happiness. They will receive constant attention as there are 2-3 adults in the home full time that are fully knowledgeable about dog care and their needs. Able to give medications/injections if required. Outdoor play and active days to be expected. Full run of 3 floors, the sofas & beds, toys, and a crate is available, only if requested, for their stay. Pictures are taken and sent frequently. Expect a super happy, but worn out, pupper when they go home!!

Do they get along with children? Do they have any special needs? Do they get along well with other dogs? Do your dogs react to fireworks or vacuums? Do your dogs like water/swimming? Any health limitations? Food allergies? Tell me all their quirks (just so I know what to expect, I’m never deterred!) Do they exhibit any food aggression or toy jealousy?
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
