“I needed a place to board my dog for a night while my husband and I went to a wedding. Our dog has been to standard daycare facilities but isn't fond of being left alone so we didn't like the idea of her staying in a kennel. Alison was really accommodating and assured us that our sweet girl would get plenty of attention and play time with her own dogs, which is perfect because our girl loves to make friends. We were afraid that she'd have trouble settling in because she's very attached to us, but we were put at ease when Alison sent a picture of our girl sleeping on a comfy couch. They also made sure she had her allergy meds and food. This is exactly the environment and attention our dog needs to be comfortable being away from us for a bit. Thank you so much for watching her!”

“Our little guy seemed happy at Stephanie's house! The family was very nice, and their house is tucked in a cul-de-sac away from busy roads. We got updates and/or pictures most days, and Stephanie was always timely in her responses to any messages I sent her. We plan to use her again!”

“Ronald and his family could not have been better sitters for our 2 labs. They were so thoughtful and provided a loving home for our pups while we were away. I will definitely continue to book Ronald on future trips.”

“Katie was a perfect sitter for Nash! She gave him the attention and love he wanted, a great house to feel comfortable in and he almost didn’t want to leave!”

“We really appreciated the daily texts and pictures letting us know how our pups were doing! They seemed to have a fun time and we will definitely be repeat customers!”

“Monte did a wonderful job keeping tabs on my pup! He was kind and welcoming with the introductions, as well as his furry companion. Definitely will be contacting Monte again in the future.”

“Nancy has been great with ou senior dog. She makes sure he feels comfortable and safe. Nancy takes him potty often especially because he's a senior dog. She is super flexible and has great communication. Both of her pupps do a great job with Domi as well. We will continue using her as long as she keeps Rovering.”

“This was my Cherrys very first time staying with a sitter, so naturally, we were a bit anxious about how things would go. But from the very beginning, Ryan was incredibly patient, understanding, and flexible. He took the time to make sure both my dog and I felt comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. I’m so grateful for how smoothly everything went. Highly recommend—especially if you’re a first-time dog parent looking for someone you can really trust!”

“She was the best sitter. I was very worried about Flurry but she handled Flurry and my situation very professionally. Flurry was very happy with her and she was flexible with drop off time and pick up time. Traveling from New York was a stress but because of her my trip became stress-free. I highly recommend her for your dog. Flurry has a separation anxiety but with her I didn't feel that Flurry had any problems with her. She gave her food and communication was on point. She updated me with pictures and each and everything.”

“Megan and David are amazing! I was so nervous to leave my older girl with her high maintenance health care needs, but I was able to have a relaxing trip knowing she was in good hands. They have a ton of animal care experience and the sweetest dog who was so patient; my girl was able to fit right in with the family. They are quick to respond and gave me daily updates with pictures. I couldn't recommend them enough and hope they are available the next time my pup needs a home away from home.”

“Elisheba and her family took Ember in and were very kind. Thank you for the hospitality and the great care at a last minute notice. Ember loved the yard and enjoyed having extra people to play with her, it takes a village!”

“Gabrielle was a great pet sitter for our dog! She was very communicative and easy to work with. She sent us pictures and let us know everything was going great! Would definitely recommend her to others!”

“Angel watched our Great Dane when our sitter fell through on short notice. Her and her kids did a great job with him and we appreciated her sending us regular picture updates. We would definitely book with her again.”

“Jonathan was a great sitter for my 3 year old, Boston Terrier, Louie! He communicated well and sent lots of pictures so I never had to worry how it was going and in a timely manner too. Happy I chose Jonathan during a last minute trip planned for the weekend. I highly recommend and will be booking again :)”

“Cathy was amazing. Helped me out in a pinch and accepted my last minute request when I was struggling to find a sitter. Great communication and lots of pics. Wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thanks again, Cathy!”

About: My family had a dog and two cats when I was growing up, and I have made sure to keep pets in my household ever since. Now, my wife and I have a 10-year-old beagle named Bobby, and a five-year-old cat named Walter. Bobby and Walter are easy-going and do well around other pets. Bobby mostly keeps to himself, while Walter might try to get your pet to play with him. We live at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighborhood, and we have a partially fenced yard for your dog to play/relax in. Bobby loves lounging on our patio. I work from home full-time, and my wife works from home one-two days a week, so your pet will have constantly attention and love from us. I work from home, so I am available to board and look after your pet every day. I only board one pet at a time, so you can count on your pet getting full and constant attention. I have a partially fenced yard at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighborhood, with plenty of yard for your pet to play and relax.
The median cost per night for pet boarding in Cold Spring is $40
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cold Spring
Austin was fantastic from the start and really did a great job taking care of our dog. Our beagle stayed with Austin for 1 night and he was super attentive, listened, and made her feel at home. We were looking for a sitter that more matched our home environment to make her comfortable, versus a kennel. Austin came through on that and our beagle was super comfortable! Austin was very responsive in communications and sent updates during her stay, which we appreciated! Would book Austin again as he treated Roxy very well.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
