“We love Abbie! We moved to the area this year and are so grateful for her. She has watched Penny a few times and it always goes well. It is nice to travel and know that our girl is safe and playing with other dog friends.”

“Tricia is the best! Our dog was having some bladder issues we didn’t know about and she was very patient and caring for him. We have used her a few times and will keep going back.”

“Monte did a wonderful job keeping tabs on my pup! He was kind and welcoming with the introductions, as well as his furry companion. Definitely will be contacting Monte again in the future.”

“Marina and Michael took excellent care of our furry baby while we went on a trip and left her for the first time ever. She sent lots of updates with pics and made it so much easier being without our girl for a week, knowing she was in good hands :-)”

“We have the happiest dogs on earth. They arrived home from their vacation at Ryan’s full of healthy exuberance and enthusiasm! Thanks, Ryan! Thanks, Beautiful Ellie!”

“Katie did such a great job watching Reggie while my husband and I were out of town for a few days! We received plenty of updates and could tell he was well taken care of when we picked him up. Will definitely be using Katie again!”

“Matthew was amazing. I’ve only had Oakley for two weeks and am still getting to know his habits, on top of the fact that he is already 85 lbs, but none of that bothered Matthew. He sent daily pictures and confirmed that all was going well. He is very relaxed and Oakley got along very well with his three dogs. Matthew has a very large backyard and a 100’ lead that was great for Oakley since he loves to just lay outside. I highly recommend Matthew and will be using him again.”

“Emily was wonderful! She made me feel so comfortable and kept me updated through the stay. I had a great experience with her and would absolutely recommend her and her family!”

“Ronald and his family could not have been better sitters for our 2 labs. They were so thoughtful and provided a loving home for our pups while we were away. I will definitely continue to book Ronald on future trips.”

“Glad we met Johangely! Highly recommend. We were provided regular updates and photo's each day, including videos. It soon became clear our pet was in a safe and comfortable place. Regular walks, feeding, and playtime! Our minds were at ease knowing all was ok while we were away. Thank you!”

“Jonathan is great. He has done dog sitting for a few hours and boarding for several days for my 10 year old and 4 year old. You can leave your pet and know they’ll be taken care of and have a good time. He did great giving my younger girl her medication and making sure they get tons of activity and rest. They had a great time and I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing my girls were safe and well taken care of.”

“This was a very last minute booking and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Rob was extremely flexible with drop off and pickup time. Responded right away to my messages and sent updates. Will absolutely book again the next time we are in Cincinnati. Thank you for a great stay!!”

“Angel and kids were so wonderful with my dog Gabby. A big backyard for Gabby to play with and got along real well with their other pets. I would 100% definitely book again in the future!”

“Lauren is always our first choice for dog sitters. She recently took care of our two dogs and had a trip planned of her own, but despite being busy she was able to make time to help us. During their stay, her dog had a health emergency in which she needed to take her to the emergency vet. The timing of the emergency was right as we were coming into town to pick up our dogs, but even so, without mentioning it, she made arrangements to allow for this to still occur. Even in unusual circumstances, she was able to problem solve and accommodate her customer and it saved us 1 hour of driving by still allowing us to pick up our dogs during the previously agreed upon time. We are very thankful for her loving nature with animals, responsibility and communication. These attributes make her a 5-star dog sitter!”

“Christon did a great job with my dog Maya over the 5 days she looked after her. In fact when Maya came back hone it was evident she missed being with Christon and the other dogs she met. Maya is normally shy of other dogs but it seemed like she was starting to overcome that. This just demonstrates Christon’s ability to handle pets. Christon was very communicative, and I’ll be sure to return.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cold Spring
Austin was fantastic from the start and really did a great job taking care of our dog. Our beagle stayed with Austin for 1 night and he was super attentive, listened, and made her feel at home. We were looking for a sitter that more matched our home environment to make her comfortable, versus a kennel. Austin came through on that and our beagle was super comfortable! Austin was very responsive in communications and sent updates during her stay, which we appreciated! Would book Austin again as he treated Roxy very well.

Matt was great! Our boys, Hammer & Chisel, were well taken care of! Also, great communication from Matt made our first time using Rover a smooth experience. You won't be disappointed if you choose Matt to look after your fur babies, he's laid back and a pleasure to work with!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
