“Michael was very accommodating when Buddy and I came a day earlier than scheduled. He sent pictures and updates while I was gone and Buddy was very much enjoying his vacation. I had nothing to worry about. Thank you, Michael!”

“This was our first time using a Rover and Kelti was absolutely amazing! Our pup Willow had such a good time and was well taken care of. We appreciated all the updates and photos Kelti provided. We would definitely rebook with her again!”

“**Review for Jamie:** Jamie was fantastic! She watched our dog Sarge for a full week and did an amazing job. She kept us updated the entire time with pictures and messages, which made us feel completely comfortable and at ease while we were away. Sarge clearly had a great time too. We’d happily book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!”

“Glad we met Johangely! Highly recommend. We were provided regular updates and photo's each day, including videos. It soon became clear our pet was in a safe and comfortable place. Regular walks, feeding, and playtime! Our minds were at ease knowing all was ok while we were away. Thank you!”

“Metrica kept me updated along the way with check ins and photo/video. Lexi was happy when I dropped her off and picked her up. Metrica accommodated my diva little girl perfectly. Would definitely use again.”

About: I’ve always been told I was an animal whisperer since a kid. I have a deep love for any and all animals❤️ I currently have two doggies and two reptiles but I’ve grown up with many types of animals, amphibians, reptiles , and arachnids so I’m open to helping out with other pets too! I’ve also have experience with high anxiety animals as well as senior pets!:) Im currently working part time, so I have tons of time on my hands, I’m available from 10am-8pm on week days and free on Saturday’s and Sunday’s I’ve worked with many dogs and I know everyone has their own routine and preferences, leave me instructions and I’ll follow them to a T for your fur baby , it’s my main priority to keep them happy and healthy !!
“I am very fortunate to have found Laura! Based on her "About" info and all the great reviews, I felt my dog would be well cared for. We had a great first meeting with Laura which solidified my decision to hire her. Drop off was easy because of our first meeting. She had excellent communication! She sent pictures, messages and responded promptly to any messages I initiated. When I picked up my dog, she(my dog)was happy to see me and my husband but not eager to leave. That’s a good sign to me that she felt safe and was happy there! I 100% recommend Laura and hope she's available next time I need her.”

“Rachelle was very welcoming, she would send me updates on my fur baby and how the day went! Our fur babies got along just fine and my dog was worn out from all the playing:). Highly recommend!”

“Madison took great care of my girl! She sent me daily updates and photos and responded promptly whenever I reached out. She treated her as if she were her own and I would definitely trust her to watch my baby again!”

“Monte did a wonderful job keeping tabs on my pup! He was kind and welcoming with the introductions, as well as his furry companion. Definitely will be contacting Monte again in the future.”

About: Hi, I’m Katie. I’m a college student and I don’t have many years of experience, but I’m looking to gain some. I’m probably the biggest pet person you’ll ever meet and I hope I can help you and your dog or cat. I currently am a college student and I don’t have a summer job or anything so I’m just looking for something to do on the side and keep me busy and something that will fit my schedule while also enjoying time with animals I have a fenced in yard with a boxer half lab who is very friendly with medium to small size dogs and does well with cats. I’m looking to make sure the owner is happy but even more to make sure their pet is happy.
“Cori was a super host for our puppies. She did everything in her power to make them feel comfortable and at home. Her daily updates kept us informed on our puppers.”

“Amy is the best! Her knowledge and love of animals shows in everything she does! Our fur babies had a marvelous vacation at her home and loved the fenced outdoor area. Plus, Amy is a talented photographer and the surprise pics of Roscoe and Sassy were icing on the cake. Thank you, Amy, for all you do for your families.”

“We have a very timid and Anxious puppy and Tasha and Joseph really knew how to handle him and slowly introduce him to their home and other dogs. He ended up doing great with their dogs and I’m not even sure he was excited to see me when I picked him up! Thanks again guys and we will definitely book again ?”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Independence
Destiny did a great job with my kitty Lia, though on the third day it took an unexpected turn (not destiny’s fault in the slightest) my kitty is very skiddish even when I got her and that causes Lia to get into a hard to reach area where it took days for her to come out, thanks to destiny’s dedication and patience my kitty came out the day I was supposed to pick her up. She was well fed and got to socialize with other kitties, and I also got an update every morning and evening which was very nice, thank you destiny for such an amazing job with Lia.

Erin and her kids were incredible with our dog! She stayed at their home for a week and was treated like part of the family. Erin kept us updated with photos, and it was clear she was happy, loved, and having a great time with the kids. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely book with Erin again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
