About: What sets me apart is my experience handling multiple pets at once while still making sure each one gets individual attention and care. I’ve cared for several dogs and cats together in the same household, so I’m comfortable managing different routines, personalities, and energy levels. I have experience with young dogs and understand the patience and consistency they need. I’m happy to help reinforce basic training like leash manners, sit, stay, and good behavior during walks and feeding time. I also genuinely love going on long walks, so high-energy dogs get the exercise and mental stimulation they need, not just a quick potty break. Above all, I focus on keeping pets safe, happy, and comfortable by sticking to their routines and treating them like they’re my own. I am currently working part-time gigs after moving cross country in mid-2025 and have a very flexible schedule. I am able to make many times work and am able to sleep over or drop in as needed. I make sure to prioritize safety by anticipating potential dangers. My past experience as a daycare teacher has given me eyes on the back of my head and readiness for issues or safety concerns. I make sure spaces remain safe and comfortable for your pet and respect your guidelines and routines.
About: My pets are like my babies! I treat them with respect and love as they too deserve it. Youre babies will be in great hands. It fits into my daily lifestyle as Ive always cared for my animals at home and made sure theyre living comfortably! Your pets will have the same! About: I’ve been an animal lover since I was a little girl. I pet sit for family & friends, and i’ve decided to start taking care of other peoples pets because it’s something that I love and enjoy! I am a kitten foster, I work with a rescue and have taken care of 7+ newborn kittens that were going to be euthanized. I love doing this not just as a job but as a hobby ☺️ I am currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to care for your pets. I am an overthinker so I always think about the worst case scenarios and do my best to avoid anything 😭 Besides that I am on my second year of college looking for a side hustle! If you have any concerns Ive probably researched it 99% of the time, so feel free to ask :) I have 1 cat (indoors & outdoor) and fenced back yard. Accommodations for your pets are available if they are not good with other animals. I have plenty of free time for play time. I enjoy going on walks and exploring nature.
“It was such a pleasure trusting our cat to such a caring person! She was punctual and attentive, and constantly sent photo and video updates during her visits. Our cat was happy and calm, and we could go about our business with total peace of mind. Highly recommended from the bottom of my heart!”

About: I'm a young active college student that used to have a dog. He was very large so I'm very aware of how to handle all types. I truly will work on tending to your needs and being a security guard I'm very good with following directions. I truly loving and playful, I'm not one to disappoint. With that being said I'm truly flexible with dogs needs and everyday care, I will put on active wear if we need to run or walk and I'm a protector, so I would treat them like my very own. My mother has taught me that updates are the most comforting thing so if that's what you need to know your dog is safe a text takes 2 min out of our play time.
“Lisa has been amazing! My husband and I got a puppy and so this is all very new to us and using rover. She was helpful with setting up the appointments and came to meet me and our puppy first which was very reassuring. She has been on time for every appointment and our puppy loves her. She has even been helping with teaching him tricks. We are very happy we met Lisa and have already booked a few more times.”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and am a proud cat and dog mom. I have two wonderful dogs and a special-needs cat, so I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and unique needs. In addition to caring for my own pets, I volunteer at a local cat shelter, where I’ve gained experience working with cats of all temperaments. Whether your pet has lots of energy and loves long walks and playtime or prefers quiet companionship and cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I’m patient, dependable, and attentive to every detail, from sticking to feeding schedules and medications to making sure your pet gets plenty of affection and enrichment. I know how hard it can be to leave your furry family member with someone else, so I’ll treat them like one of my own and keep you updated with lots of photos and messages, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. Im currently working part time, so I have tons of flexibility and availability to help care for your pets. Getting to hang with animals is the best part of my day. If you invite me into your home to care for your fur children, I’ll make sure to treat it with the utmost care. I’ll do my absolute best to maintain their routines, especially if they have some quirks.
“Hector is amazing, he took care of our dog, provided regular updates, and asked great question both ahead of time and during the visit to ensure everything was just as we hoped for. Appreciate him so much. He even noticed it was trash day and took our bins out for us after asking if that was okay. Super awesome!”

“Laura went above and beyond taking care of my dog. Spending extra time, sending fun photos and taking long walks with her. Laura was prompt, thorough and caring - a true professional!”

“It was lovely to meet Janelle. She was right on time for our meet and greet, stayed long enough to get all important information, asked good questions and was gentle and kind with my senior dog. I am sorry we were not able to work together this time but I do think Janelle would be a good sitter for someone else.”
About: I’ve had a dog since I was 12. I’ve taken care of them for friends and family. I have two cats of my own. I love animals so much. I currently work full time from home so I’m available in the evenings and weekends. Usually weekends I can do anytime unless I have a prior commitment but that’s rare. My own cats stay inside I do not let them out for their safety. I do let them out for a little bit to get sun and to exercise but they’re supervised. I will keep pets inside or outside as needed only. And keep an eye on them.

About: I have been caring for pets (dogs and cats) since I was 5 years old as both a pet owner and sitter. I understand how difficult it can be to be away from your pet family members and will send regular pics and updates to keep you informed about your pet's well-being while you're away. I have always been passionate about researching and finding effective natural solutions to support pet health and am happy to recommend helpful approaches for your pets specific needs at your request. I also have lots of senior dog care experience, and am comfortable administering most meds that don't involve needles. My beloved senior dog with special needs (lost use of hind legs among other things) recently passed away and I miss him but am so thankful for the time we had. I learned a lot about using natural remedies to support senior dog health from him and also learned to walk him with support for his hind end. I am currently able to provide drop in visits for pets in the Mountain Glen I community in Sylmar at this time. If you live in this community and need help caring for your family pet, please reach out so we can arrange a time to meet. Happy to help with dogs, cats and possibly other kinds of pets. I can board too, but only for pets I know and have worked with previously. I always look for and implement practices that will create a safe, peaceful, healthy and nurturing environment for pets in my home and only board pets from the same home at the same time. Boarding and day-care are only available for pets I know and have worked with previously.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Sylmar
Myla was fantastic. She came by to feed and water our cat and dog. Our cat rarely comes out for anyone but us. But the cat LOVED Myla. She sent us a bunch of both our fur babies looking happy every time she visited. Great sitter! We will definitely call on her again.

Jamie helped us out by looking after our shih tzu and cat during a week long trip. The 2x a day home drop-ins he provided went smoothly, without a hitch. We returned home to a happy dog, mail brought in and trash taken out. We'd call on Jamie again for any future travel plans.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sylmar. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
