“I wanted to leave a 5 ⭐️review and a BIG thank you to this wonderful family who watched my dog . I spent my whole trip getting to see my dog and follow her day through pics and videos. I actually found out my dog likes toys and activities that i did not know about. My dog was treated with love and patience and was so busy with exercise and activities, she was like a new dog when i got her home . I just cannot be more appreciative to this sitter for going above and beyond for my dog, who is my ❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ i would give 100 stars if i could . Thanks again for being so kind and attentive to my dog”

“Wow, what a wonderful experience we had having our Labrador Angus stay with Derek and his family. They have the sweetest female lab, Ellie who was a perfect companion for our boy. They have a wonderful fenced yard for the dogs to play in and plenty of humans to keep our dog company. We can’t wait to bring him back again!!”

“Absolutely the best experience we ever had! Geraldene cared for our elderly pooch like her own. The biggest take away we had was we never had to worry about Tofu while we were gone. Geraldene gave us reassurance and trust, qualities we look for in a sitter. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”

“Thank you soooo much for taking my boy it looked like he had a lot of fun’s will deff b booking more with yah easy location easy to get to highly highly recommended!!!!! Thank you!!!”

“Gavin was very patient , kind and understanding of my crazy schedule for this weekend and also my first time pet parent anxiety, and my dog loved being in his carelol I would gladly book with him again!”

“Palvi is very nice and did a great job in taking care of Snoopy over 5 days while we were on vacation. Snoopy is shy, anxious by nature & picky eater. Snoopy got comfortable with her family in short time & had good fun time playing hide & seek with her kids & her pet Corgi. We are so thankful that we found Palvi & would definitely recommend her.”

“She was so great at watching our puppy! Her dogs showed our puppy how to ring bells to use the potty which was a huge help as we were potty training her. She sent pictures and updates of our puppy, and always answered the messages we sent! 10/10 I would have her watch our puppy again and recommend her personally to other puppy parents!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was young, and I now have over 18 years of hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities. Friends, neighbors, and family have always trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and give their pets the same love and attention they would. I’m patient, responsible, and passionate about making every dog feel safe and happy. I work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for pets throughout the week. I’m available on weekends and most weekdays after 2 PM for walks, drop-ins, or boarding. Also im at full time college student I live in a clean, pet-friendly apartment where animals can relax and feel safe. I follow each pet’s routine closely, provide lots of attention, and make sure they’re supervised at all times. I can also crate your dog if required.

“Very happy with your service Jessica! Macie wears a special tracking collar so we don't ever lose her. But we can see she must have had good walks and play time with 30k steps the first day she 31k the 2nd day. The only other time we boarded her was at a professional kennel where she had a max of 800 steps for one day. So huge difference. Thank you! The pics were greatly appreciated as well! Would definitely recommend you.”

“Dorothy is amazing and we couldn’t recommend her enough. She took the time to get to know my pup and her needs, and sent many updates while we were away. We are happy to have found someone we trust so much!”

“Keith was great, our dog was well cared for and happy while he was there. He gave us updates and sent pictures as well. He is easy to work with and very responsive. We’ll be back!”

“Brian was very accommodating, taking care of my dog for two weeks on short notice. He provided updates and photos that gave me piece of mind. Plus, my dog was able to socialize with his dog, which was a bonus! His rates were reasonable; he answered my texts and questions in a timely manner. Overall very happy, and I will check back with him, should we need help with boarding our dog in the future. Thank you Brian!”

“We love these guys! Our puppies feel at home and are well loved, treated as family and always have a great time. The timely updates, lovely artistic pictures and videos and the great care they offer our pups is invaluable.”
“Selena is amazing! Crash is my baby boy and not only did she get him to get comfortable with other dogs but even got him to go on walks with other dogs!! Thank you so much for you amazing hospitality, she sent many pictures and video and updates reassuring me during my time gone. I will definitely be booking with Selena any time I will need boarding.”

About: I've taken care of pets since I was young. I've always had a dog growing up! After moving to Sycamore in 1998, I moved into a farm. We had almost every farm animal, as well as cats. I've had all of my dogs from puppies until the end. Come summer, I am free all the time! I work at the school district! Just weekends are softball. My oldest is on a traveling team! I will follow what is needed to be done with your pet! Treat your pet like my own fur baby. Always lots of love and treats (if that’s okay with the treats lol)
“Maria was absolutely amazing! From the moment we dropped our dog off, we knew he was in great hands. She took him on long, enjoyable walks and kept us updated with pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. Maria was incredibly responsive and clearly treated our dog with so much love and care. He came home happy, well-exercised, and clearly adored his time with her. We are so grateful and would absolutely trust her again in the future!”

“Susan was awesome! My husband is extremely particular about the dog. I’m actually shocked he agreed to leave him with a stranger. It could not have gone any better! Susan took Jack for lots of walks and she and her husband even took him on the boat! We got lots of pictures and updates on how he was doing. We definitely hope she’s available to watch Jack next time we travel!”

“Patricia took amazing care of Zoey. She was great with sending us video and photo updates which gave us peace of mind. I highly recommend Patricia and look forward to having her watch Zoey again.”

“Great hosts and couple! They took Dexter in on such short notice with welcoming Arms. Definitely going to reach out to them in the future when we’re out of town. Thank you so much!”

I am currently a full-time student and work part-time at gyms making my own schedule. I am flexible and can make time for your needs. I am available in the mornings and afternoons for walks. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
