“Mike took good care of our two older dogs. They were happy and healthy apon our 5 day return and the house was great as we left it. He got packages from outside that werent supose to be delivered so that was great too. He showed up on time and stayed until our agreed upon touch down of flight very late the last night. Knowing he lives in the town we do also is nice. We will definitely get him to stay again if he's free next time we need a sitter. He even fixed our tv remote/sound bar connectivity issues. Thanks Mike! Dana”

“Andrea is a gem. She is communicative, respectful, and left our home in excellent condition. My cats are everything to me and she took wonderful care of them while I was out of town for my birthday. She also left me a sweet card and note with an update. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Took great care of my pets-took them on lots of walks and cuddles! Gave me updates about them several times daily. Felt like my dogs had so much fun while I was gone. Came home to cute little photos on the counter of all of them as an extra surprise! Dog person through and through-would recommend and use again!”

About: I have done dog walking and sittings on other apps and with neighbors for 5 years! I have 50+ 5 star reviews on WAG! I also own 2 beautiful pups and have taken care of dogs my whole life. I have a serving job during nights, but I have open ability during the day every day of the week! I like to fit in walks whenever I can! I can not take any more pets into my home, but would love to do sittings and take care of pets at clients homes! *
“Perfect. She took great care of our extended family. The Dogs (4) seem happy and well cared for. The birds (2) are great. Fish and turtle also thank her. House was clean as well. Will certainly have her take care of our brood again.”
About: My attention to detail and compassionate care cant be beat! Whether it's specific meal times, medications, a preference of long walks or short, playtime, lots of pets and belly rubs or a bit more space, Ill be attuned to every different personality and their needs! Their safety and comfort is always my top priority. Ive been a nurse for 13 years. I take pride in how I show up and care for my patients and your sweet furry babies deserve nothing less and will always get the very best care with me😊 My schedule is open and pretty flexible for the remainder of the year. Spending my time caring for your pet will add so much more joy to my days and I hope to theirs, too! While I can't offer pet sitting in my own home, I'm happy to do so in yours. This also allows your fur babies to stay as comfy and cozy as possible in the environment they already feel the most safe in while you're away😊
“Rose did a fantastic job taking care of our dog and our house while we went away on a weeks vacation. She was very thoughtful and sent pictures of our dog and took good care of him knowing he would have anxiety while we were gone. The house was super clean and taken care of when we returned. I would highly recommend her. I can’t say enough good things about her.”

About: I’ve had a love for animals since I was able to walk. I treat every pet like my own, ensuring their daily routine is strictly followed so you can enjoy total piece of mind while you are away. I’m currently on break from a job assignment that finished, and when I’m not working, I dedicate my time to dog boarding, dog walking, and volunteering at the shelter just to spend time with animals. Due to my current routine, it allows me to have open availability and flexibility with pet care. I have a fenced yard with lots of space for your fur baby to potty and play in, as well as two friendly dogs to keep your pup company. I can easily crate or separate your dog if personal space is needed!
“Jamie was a caring, kind sitter and I felt totally confident after meeting her that she would take excellent care of my little dog. She was understanding and helpful while I was on vacation. A pleasure meeting and working with her on all arrangements!”

“Sarah is a dream dog-sitter! She asked all the right questions about my dog, and listened intently. I felt confident with her dog-knowledge and background, and knew my guy was in good hands! I will definitely use Sarah again!”

“It was so wonderful having the peace of mind knowing that my fur baby was in good hands while I was away. Icy did an amazing job of communicating how things were going at home including sending daily pictures. We will definitely be using Icy again!”

“Our dogs loved Roselle! We came home to very happy dogs. Most importantly, the dogs were not stressed at all after we were gone a few days. After their initial excitement when we got home, they settled right in like we had never left. She gave them their medications and did everything according to our instructions with taking care of all three dogs as well as our house.”

“Highly recommend Jessica! She was wonderful with our animals and put everyone at ease. She is kind, caring and a lovely person. Jessica sent photos of our pets during our trip and made sure we knew everything was going well.”

“We were completely at ease throughout Diane's time caring for our dogs and home. When we first connected, Diane was warm and responsive, and it was clear that she was someone who has a genuine love for animals. Diane did an incredible job caring for Annie, Charlie and Winston, WOW! She made sure the dogs were well exercised, happy, and had plenty of attention and affection. The most important thing Diane provided us was peace of mind. When we returned home, our home was calm and cared for, and we had three very happy pups! We would not hesitate to recommend Diane or to use her again for caring for our dogs or our home. She provides top-notch care, is reliable, thoughtful, and a person we would trust 100% to care for our home and pets. Thank you again Diane 💛”

“Coralee did an amazing job with our dog and house sitting. She was communicative, took great care of the house, was very affectionate towards our pup and overall was just reliable and trust worthy.”

“I cannot say enough great things about Sophia. The first time I met her, she just was full of positive energy and kindness. Her love and passion for dogs is obvious! I consider my dog, Jack, my fourth child. He's my baby, so leaving him when I go out of town is especially tough. Knowing he's with Sophia gives me so much comfort. She treats him like he's her own, which makes me happy. While I was away, she fed him, took him on walks in the neighborhood and to the park. She bathed him, played chase with him, and brought special toys for him to play with, too. I received thorough updates and fun videos. I trust her completely and highly recommend her to take care of your sweet pet. Also, she asked a lot of questions, so she was comfortable with Jack's eating habits and schedule and daily routine. I will have no hesitation asking Sophia to take care of Jack again. And, I know he loves her, too!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 2,949 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sveadal. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sveadal walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sveadal maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sveadal choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sveadal. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
