About: Hi, I’m Ady! 🐾 I’ve always had a huge love for animals, and caring for them has been a big part of my life. I have a sweet 4-year-old pup named Leia, who is incredibly friendly and absolutely loves everyone! I also foster tiny bottle babies through local shelters and have experience caring for many different types of animals. Throughout the years, I’ve cared for all kinds of rescues, including dogs, cats, snakes, and geckos—from newborn neonates to senior pets. I have over 10 years of veterinary experience, including working in general practice, emergency medicine, and ICU/specialty veterinary care. I’m comfortable caring for pets with special medical needs and administering medications, including oral medications and insulin injections. I understand how hard it can be to find someone you genuinely trust to care for your pets while you’re away. I want to provide that peace of mind by using my veterinary experience to give your pets the same loving, attentive care I would want for my own. I’m currently taking a break from my veterinary career to be home with my two toddlers. While I absolutely love being a mom, I do miss working with animals! Pet sitting and fostering have given me a way to continue doing something I truly love while spending this special time with my family. Whether your pet needs medication, extra attention, special care, or simply someone to keep them company and give them lots of love, I’d be happy to help! Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pets! ❤️🐾 Currently my availability is very open due to work, I have taken a break and only work about 10hours a month. I'm very available, specially weekend and evenings. I'm open to work a schedule. I am available to board at my current place of residency right now, I live on 5acres and have room to walk and explore. On leash, Please message me for any questions regarding.

About: I have always loved and cared about all animals. I currently own 3 cats, a bearded dragon, a tarantula, and fishes. I am currently a veterinary assistant student and will be pursuing a vet tech degree right after! I have taken care of dogs since I was 12. Family friends would let me walk their dog around the neighborhood. Although I don't own any dogs currently, on my free time i go to the san martin animal shelter and do doggy day out. I take dogs on a field trips out of the shelter whether it is a hike, a day at the beach, or just a walk at a park. I work part-time and am part time student, which gives me some flexibility to fit pet care into my schedule. I’m available on weekends and can plan around my work and school commitments. I love spending time with animals and making sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and care while their owners are away! As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I provide a safe, loving, and calm environment, follow all care instructions closely, and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection! My goal is to help pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away.

“Having my outdoor cats cared for by Katrena gives me peace of mind when I need to be away from home. Katrena takes the time to understand your unique care setup and sends regular updates. In her spare time, she even volunteer's at a cat fostering rescue. Katrena is a pleasure to work with, and most of all she really loves cats!”

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family always had two or three at a time—from Huskies, Malamutes, and wolf dogs to French Bulldogs, Border Collies, and Pit Bulls—so I learned early that every breed brings its own personality, challenges, and way of learning. Over the years, I’ve worked on the fundamentals with a wide variety of dogs and later had the opportunity to learn from an experienced trainer with a background in search and rescue, protection work, and advanced behavior training. That experience helped me expand my skills, understand dogs on a deeper level, and appreciate how much the right approach can change both a dog’s behavior and their future. Now I’m building something of my own. My goal is to keep learning, keep improving, and use the skills I’ve developed to help dogs become more confident, manageable, and successful in their homes. Most importantly, I hope to help give dogs with behavioral challenges a second chance—and keep as many as possible from being euthanized simply because they were misunderstood or never given the right training. I tend to favor weekends and over nights with my work schedule. However, flexibility is possible. Scheduling your pups appointments ahead will always be recommended! I work with both dogs and handlers/owners to facilitate better communication. Once a dog can communicate effectively with their human, a bond deeper than “the hand that feeds me” can develop.

About: I’ve raised five dogs of my own from puppyhood; as well as watched the dogs of my friends and family since I was young. I’ve had everything from mixed breeds, to French bulldogs, pugs, and even a pit bull! I have experience with oral medication administration and elderly dog care. My current dog was in my care before he could be weened, so I know plenty about little puppies! I believe in keeping my dogs as active as their health permits, so walks are a crucial part of the day for me. (If they can, of course. I’ve also had a senior dog with arthritis I’ve accommodated.) I have a knowledge of dog psychology and feel that it’s important to recognize dog behavior correctly. I’m currently working part time with a flexible schedule. As long as I know ahead of time, I’m most likely able to accommodate your pet. I always care for your pet as requested. Whether or not your pup is crate trained doesn’t matter, I’ve cared for both. If your dog needs medication, walks at certain times, a health specific diet, has allergies, can’t be around certain animals/noises/environments- I will go out of my way to make sure your pets needs are met. I will always treat your pet as my own.

About: Over 20 years as a dog owner. I'm semi-retired. I've been watching friends' and friends of friends' pets for years. I've been the only house/dog sitter for a pair of Dalmatians for the last 5 years. I've handled puppies that are still working on becoming housebroken as well as senior dogs that need regular medication and extra care. I do in-home tech support/ IT work. When a customer's animals have warmed up to me, I've been asked if I did pet sitting as well. It feels good when the pet picks you. My working schedule is very flexible, I'm usuably able to adjust it to make sure I'm available to see to your pet's needs. If I commit to caring for your critters they will be my scheduling priority. I don't have pets in my own home. When house/pet sitting, besides feeding, walking and picking up after the pets I'm capable of handling household issues that might come up.

About: I have had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember, including behavior and training. I believe that every dog is a good dog. I began my career in animal care at an exotic pet shop in my teens. Between retail gigs, I had the privilege of working at a rescue shelter and a zoo, where my passions for animal conservation and welfare continued to grow. After that I spent some time in the veterinary field, where I gained valuable experience as a veterinary assistant. It was working in the veterinary field where I really got to pursue my passion for working gently with anxious and "aggressive" animals. Due to some physical limitations, I am not able to work full-time anymore, so I am now taking time to focus on what I really love to do, which is making pet and owner's lives easier. In my free time, I love to crochet, play video and borad games, and go on hikes with my partner. I am currently available full time to walk, sit, or drop-in on your pet! I can make most days and times work. Let me know what you need. I am not able to host for pet-sitting currently, per my lease at my current living arrangement, but I am available to stay in the pet owner's home if requested.

About: Hi, I’m Alycia – your pet’s next best friend! I believe animals are the purest souls on Earth, and caring for them brings me genuine joy. Whether you’re headed out for a weekend getaway or a month-long adventure, I’m here to provide trustworthy, loving, and reliable care for your furry (or feathery, or scaly!) family members. Why pet parents love working with me: • Unmatched love for animals: I’ve never met a pet I didn’t immediately adore—yes, even the barkers, scratchers, and shy ones. I treat your pets like family, because to me, they are. • Tailored communication: Want daily pupdates and photo shoots? Or just a quiet “all is well”? I adapt to your style, ensuring peace of mind while you’re away. • Experienced & intuitive: I’ve cared for everything from dogs and cats to chickens, reptiles, birds, and even horses. I’m especially sensitive to pets with anxiety or past trauma, and I know how to read body language to help them feel safe, secure, and loved. • House sitting with heart: I go above and beyond with home care—bringing in mail, watering plants, and keeping your space just as you left it (or better). Your home and pets are in excellent hands. • Flexible & fast: Need a last-minute sitter? I respond within minutes and often accommodate short-notice requests if I’m available. Plus, I offer free meet-and-greets to ensure a perfect fit. • Genuinely passionate: I do this because I love it. Nothing lights me up more than spending time with animals. I’ve even covered food costs for a pet in need—because when I care, I care all the way. From Santa Cruz to the Bay Area and beyond, I’m here to bring ease, joy, and deep care to your pet’s daily life while you’re away. Let’s set up a meet-and-greet—I’d love to meet you and your beloved pet(s)! As a full-time pet sitter, your pets are my #1 priority—24/7. From sunrise cuddles to sunset strolls, I’m all in. I love being outdoors, so if your pup is an adventure lover, we’ll be hitting the trails, parks, and quiet neighborhood walks throughout the day. Whether your pet prefers a calm routine or energetic play, I tailor our schedule to their unique needs, keeping them happy, loved, and exercised. Your pet’s safety is my top priority. I treat every home with the utmost respect and care, keeping it clean, secure, and peaceful. On walks, I stay alert and present at all times—avoiding unsafe areas, monitoring interactions with other animals, and tailoring the pace to your pet’s comfort. Whether indoors or outside, I create a calm, loving environment where your pet feels safe, relaxed, and right at home.

About: I am a long term animal lover and trainer. 20 years experience with larger dog breeds. I have a flexible schedule and excellent references. Many years experience with Cats too. Will provide care and feeding, exercise and play, grooming and clean up. Can handle multiple pets. rates flexible depending on type of pets, number of pets and if overnight. I have local references upon request. I am currently working part time, so I have lots of flexible time available to spend giving your dogs, cats and farm animals the very best of care! I provide a complete variety of pet services in your home. I am overly cautious about safety in and out of the home. I take extra precautions when walking your dog near other dogs and with allowing pets outdoors where wild predators can be nearby. I am very aware of other dogs and will not allow to approach unless previously known. My availability changes. Sometimes I work remotely from home doing business office support for clients. This affects the type of pet care assignments that I may accept due to logistics and pet needs. I care for pets in your home only and take dogs on outings and employ daily frequent play and walks. Your pets get lots of attention!

Having 2 rambunctious, younger, but heavy set dogs, Kim was able to navigate the chaos and provided structure during visits. I really appreciate that Kim allowed my two dogs into his own pack for the short duration, even providing socialization and exercise for them. Communication was crystal clear and allowed for peace of mind while away. Kim's expertise, communication, and friendliness is unmatched. Thanks again Kim!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
