Took great care of my pets-took them on lots of walks and cuddles! Gave me updates about them several times daily. Felt like my dogs had so much fun while I was gone. Came home to cute little photos on the counter of all of them as an extra surprise! Dog person through and through-would recommend and use again!

Upon meeting Rose, we were instantly warmed by her friendliness and attention to our pets. She impressed us with her organization as she came prepared with thorough questions about our pets and home in preparation for our weekend away. We found her to be considerate of our space and thoughtful about making sure everything was done the way we expected. She went above and beyond by ensuring we received updates and photos all weekend long. We would be happy to work with her again in the future.

About: I have always loved and cared about all animals. I currently own 3 cats, a bearded dragon, a tarantula, and fishes. I am currently a veterinary assistant student and will be pursuing a vet tech degree right after! I have taken care of dogs since I was 12. Family friends would let me walk their dog around the neighborhood. Although I don't own any dogs currently, on my free time i go to the san martin animal shelter and do doggy day out. I take dogs on a field trips out of the shelter whether it is a hike, a day at the beach, or just a walk at a park. I am currently not working during the summer and am taking only online classes, so I have enough time play with you pups or kittens! As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I provide a safe, loving, and calm environment, follow all care instructions closely, and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection! My goal is to help pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away.

Heather did an amazing job watching Murphy and Piper while I was out of town. She kept me informed, sent photos and took great care of my dog who had a small injury on his leg. I appreciated her attention to his leg and how hard to tried to make him feel better. Very responsible, kind, and loving.

Our dogs loved Roselle! We came home to very happy dogs. Most importantly, the dogs were not stressed at all after we were gone a few days. After their initial excitement when we got home, they settled right in like we had never left. She gave them their medications and did everything according to our instructions with taking care of all three dogs as well as our house.

About: I’ve been pet sitting for friends and neighbors for about 15 years, and I’ve had dogs my entire life. My first dog came into my life when I was just 7 years old. She was my best friend and lived a long, happy life. As a young adult, I had my next dog—an Akita who absolutely loved people. She, too, was part of our family for many wonderful years and was very loved and spoiled. Since then, I’ve chosen to adopt my family dogs from shelters. My most recent dog recently moved to Los Angeles with my college student, and while I’m so happy for them, I definitely miss having a dog around! That’s why I would love the opportunity to spend time with your dog. I treat every dog in my care like one of my own—with lots of love, attention, patience, walks, and, of course, plenty of spoiling. 🐾❤️ I understand how important it is to know that your furry family member is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’d be honored to give your dog the same love and care I’ve given my own dogs throughout my life. Your Dog’s Routine, Their Home Away From Home 🐾 I’m currently retired, which gives me the flexibility to fit right into your dog’s normal routine. Whether your pup enjoys daily walks, playtime, or simply relaxing by your side, I’m happy to accommodate what makes them comfortable and happy. If your dog is energetic, we can enjoy walks and plenty of playtime together. And if your dog is more of a couch potato, that’s perfectly fine too—we can simply hang out, relax, and enjoy each other’s company. ❤️ My goal is to make their time with me feel as much like home as possible, while giving them plenty of love, attention, and care. A Safe, Loving Home Away From Home 🐾 I have a two-story single-family home with a securely fenced-in yard, giving your dog plenty of space to feel comfortable and at home. For potty breaks and backyard time, I always go outside with the dogs. I never simply let them out on their own—I want to make sure they are safe and supervised. I’m recently retired, so I’m home most of the day and able to give your dog lots of attention and companionship. If I do need to leave, it’s usually just for a couple of hours to run errands. My home is safe, comfortable, and dog-friendly, and I truly enjoy having dogs around. Your dog will be treated like part of the family and will receive plenty of love, attention, and, of course, a little spoiling! ❤️🐶 After a lifetime of loving and caring for my own dogs, along with about 15 years of pet sitting for friends and neighbors, I understand how important it is to leave your dog with someone you can trust. My goal is for you to feel comfortable knowing your dog is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: Hi, my name is Patrick and I’ve always had a love for dogs. Growing up, I spent a lot of time caring for family pets, which taught me responsibility, patience, and how much joy animals can bring to everyday life. I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether that’s going on walks, hikes, or simply playing fetch at the park. Pets have always been a big part of my life, and I truly enjoy being around them. There is a joy in seeing a furry friend happy. :) Pet care fits easily into my routine. I can take them on a run, walk, hike, or whatever you’d like! I typically like to take my puppy for a one hour run/walk if I plan to be gone for more than 4 hours. At home, I care for my 1.5 year puppy with my partner in our clean and organized 3-bed, 2-bath home. I keep things off the floor to create a safe, tidy space, and we also have a fenced backyard with lots of flowers and plants for pets to enjoy. In a client’s home, I follow their routines closely to make sure pets feel comfortable and well cared for.

I cannot say enough great things about Sophia. The first time I met her, she just was full of positive energy and kindness. Her love and passion for dogs is obvious! I consider my dog, Jack, my fourth child. He's my baby, so leaving him when I go out of town is especially tough. Knowing he's with Sophia gives me so much comfort. She treats him like he's her own, which makes me happy. While I was away, she fed him, took him on walks in the neighborhood and to the park. She bathed him, played chase with him, and brought special toys for him to play with, too. I received thorough updates and fun videos. I trust her completely and highly recommend her to take care of your sweet pet. Also, she asked a lot of questions, so she was comfortable with Jack's eating habits and schedule and daily routine. I will have no hesitation asking Sophia to take care of Jack again. And, I know he loves her, too!

Mike took good care of our two older dogs. They were happy and healthy apon our 5 day return and the house was great as we left it. He got packages from outside that werent supose to be delivered so that was great too. He showed up on time and stayed until our agreed upon touch down of flight very late the last night. Knowing he lives in the town we do also is nice. We will definitely get him to stay again if he's free next time we need a sitter. He even fixed our tv remote/sound bar connectivity issues. Thanks Mike! Dana

About: I’ve had several dogs over the years including puppies whom I’ve trained from scratch, as well as temperamental seniors. I love them all and they usually like me too. ☺️ To get $20 off your first booking, use this link: https://www.rover.com/sit/sonalv50918 I work part-time from home so I’m able to dedicate a lot of time and attention to your pet. Walking them is one of my favorite forms of entertainment and exercise. I have a 5 ft high fenced backyard and the Sierra Azul trail entrance is just a 5 minute walk from my house so there is plenty of walking terrain for your doggies. While at my house, your cutie pies will be allowed on the sofa and bed unless you say otherwise. I’m also able to drive out to your place and spend some cuddle time with your fur babies. Just let me know what their needs are, I’m adaptable.

FAQs for House Sitting - Mountain Home

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 3,167 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mountain Home. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mountain Home walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mountain Home maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mountain Home choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mountain Home. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
