“Andrea is a gem. She is communicative, respectful, and left our home in excellent condition. My cats are everything to me and she took wonderful care of them while I was out of town for my birthday. She also left me a sweet card and note with an update. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Brianna is an absolute gem! She cared for our two dogs, including my 15-year-old senior pup, with incredible responsibility—always on time, following every instruction, and keeping us updated. Her patience with my older dog was amazing, ensuring he felt comfortable and loved. Her genuine love for animals shines through in everything she does, treating my dogs like family. Brianna’s flexibility was a lifesaver, easily adjusting to any changes. Most importantly, her trustworthiness gave me complete peace of mind. Thank you for Brianna!”

“Took great care of my pets-took them on lots of walks and cuddles! Gave me updates about them several times daily. Felt like my dogs had so much fun while I was gone. Came home to cute little photos on the counter of all of them as an extra surprise! Dog person through and through-would recommend and use again!”

“Becky is the most responsible pet sitter and house sitter I know. She watched our husky and our house for two weeks, and had excellent communication with her throughout. She took out our trash, left the house clean and even washed her sheets. I can't recommend her highly enough.”

“Best of the best! When we came back both cats told us that they don't actually want to see us and asked to bring the lady back! Both Linus and Sophie loved Kathy and it seems to me it was a resort for them: they were brushed, fed, could request water from the faucet whenever they want, and many other nice things. Ask Linus who he wants to stay with for a while: his mama with no dad or Kathy. I guarantee he will choose Kathy!”

“Miss Rachel was a dream housesitter! She made sure to get meticulous instructions on our dogs’ routines so they were as comfortable as possible, and we were able to rest easy on our vacation with daily updates knowing they were well taken care of. She was incredibly patient, especially with our elderly dog with special accommodations. Would highly recommend her and her little sidekick, and look forward to having them back for the next trip!”

“Kristen did a great job taking care of our Bailey. She is very pleasant and accommodating. She kept us updated and we were able to relax on our short trip knowing our fur baby was well taken care of.”

“Awesome service we’re very happy with the way everything went. Tiana was very communicative and sent us pictures. She took the dogs out for walks and fed them on time and gave them their medication and of course gave them all the lovin they needed while we were away. We were very happy with her service.”

“I truly can’t adequately describe how wonderful Cali is! She took excellent care of our dog Kuiper and he had the most wonderful time with her! Cali sent pictures and updates every day and was a great communicator throughout the booking and pet sitting process. She also took great care of our home as well and everything was spotless when we returned. There are not many people I would trust to take care of my best friend but Cali is definitely one of them. I highly recommend her!”

“Rose is the absolute best! Our animals are challenging but she took the greatest care of them. And she left our house in perfect condition with the plants watered and happy. Thank you Rose!”
About: I'm a responsible adult female who was raised around different types of animals Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, hamsters, and guinea pigs. I currently have a 15yr old tortieshell cat, have 2 small dogs age 13-16yrs old. I am fully comfortable administering medicine. I. I have done pet sitting, house sitting for my neighbors for 15 plus years, I can provide references. I would keep you up to date on everything your pet does if that's what you would prefer. I look forward to meeting you along with meeting fur baby to provide quality care and put your mind at ease. ( Just to let everyone know that when a dog boards at my house our dogs will not interact unless requested due to their medical issues. Plus dogs will be on the other side of the house. Thank you) I do have regular walking clients that I do Monday - Friday but someone is always home when I am not and are well taken care of. I have a fully fenced yard with an iron gate that is always locked with exception on exiting/ entering the property with a key. All furbabies are treated with repect and loved on.
“Coralee was absolutely incredible. She was very communicative and sent beautiful pictures. She really understood my sensitive baby, and he warmed up quickly to her and clearly felt comfortable and safe. Coralee also was patient and responsive when our travel plans got disrupted, and kept my baby company much later than we originally planned. I very highly recommend her.”

About: What sets me apart is my strong focus on safety, consistency, and personalized care. I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach—every pet has different needs, and I make sure to follow their routine closely so they feel comfortable and stress-free. I’m very attentive to behavior and can quickly spot changes that might indicate discomfort or illness. I also have experience working with puppies and senior pets. With puppies, I reinforce basic training like potty routines, leash manners, and positive behavior. With senior pets, I’m patient and gentle, making sure they’re comfortable, keeping up with medications if needed, and adjusting activity levels to suit them. Communication is another area where I stand out—I provide regular updates, photos, and detailed check-ins so owners always know their pet is safe and well cared for. Overall, I aim to give pets a calm, structured, and safe environment while giving owners complete peace of mind. Pet care is a consistent and important part of my daily and weekly routine. Each day, I schedule time for feeding, fresh water, exercise, and one-on-one attention to make sure pets are comfortable and well cared for. I plan my day around their needs, including walks, playtime, and any specific care instructions like medications or training. Consistency, communication, and attention to detail. I track feeding, bathroom habits, and any unusual behavior. I make sure pets get enough interaction and mental stimulation. Lots and lots of love and attention. Safety is always my main priority as well. I provide daily updates of pet/care with video/photos.

“Maya was very responsive and reliable during the initial search process and the house sitting time. She stayed with Doug for 2 nights/3 days. She sent us a picture update during her time with Doug, and communicated at various points to check in. We will be using Maya’s services again soon!”

“Lucia stayed with Coco in our home for eight days while we were away, and I couldn't have asked for a better caregiver. Coco can be shy and anxious with new people, but Lucia was incredibly patient and allowed her to warm up at her own pace. She followed Coco's routine carefully, kept us updated regularly with thoughtful messages and photos, and gave us complete peace of mind throughout our trip. When we returned home, Coco was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It was obvious they had formed a special bond, and seeing how comfortable and affectionate Coco was with Lucia meant so much to us. Our home was also just as we had left it. What stands out most about Lucia is how thoughtful and attentive she is. She pays close attention to the little details, genuinely cares about your pet's comfort and well-being, and treats them as if they were her own. It's obvious that caring for animals is more than just a job to her. If you're looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, communicative, patient, and completely trustworthy, I can't recommend Lucia highly enough. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found her and look forward to having her care for Coco again.”

“Danielle did an absolutely incredible job taking care of my dog! I had her come and housesit for me since my dog definitely prefers to stay in her own space. Danielle's experience taking care of her own pets translated so well to taking care of my little one. She was able to follow very specific feeding instructions due to mine being such a picky eater. And Danielle was so communicative the entire time and was always sending me pictures and videos to let me know that my little one was doing great! I absolutely will be booking with Danielle again when I need to travel!”

About: I have been working with dogs for about 3 years at a daycare and boarding facility. I absolutely love what I do! With my work experience I have training on understanding a dog's body language, and I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. I currently work part time with flexible hours, essentially I make my own schedule. My work allows me to be flexible while providing pet care. Safety is a priority for me. Every dog is different and pet parents know their fur babies the best, so it is important for me to follow the request and instructions provided by the pet parent.

About: I have over 15 years experience in pet care and dog training. I have cared for cats, dogs of all sizes, fish, and hermit crabs. I am very dependable, patient and a quick learner. Pets of all kinds gravitate to my loving nature and strong, responsible presence. My hours are extremely flexible and I am available almost always in case you need someone fast and dependable. I have lots of availability whenever you need. I care for my pets by making sure they have consistent routines, proper nutrition, and plenty of attention and exercise. I have both a cat and a dog, so I’m familiar with balancing different needs—my dog gets regular walks, playtime, and structured feeding, while my cat has a calm environment, fresh litter, and daily care and interaction on her terms. I pay close attention to their behavior and comfort, and I make sure they always feel safe, clean, and well cared for.

Such a gem. Really appreciate Andrea's approach to our two pups who are so very different; a senior Pom with some anxiety and a young Lab with all that Young Lab Energy. She did a great job managing some more complicated routines and both dogs responded very well to her. Andrea will be back to our home soon. We trust her to do a great job -- you can, too.
Jessica does a consistently amazing job. Our dogs are always happy, she is attentive, provides regular updates, leaves the house immaculate, and helped us out big time by being flexible when we were in a pinch. She goes out of her way to confirm details and seamlessly handled medication twice a day. More than anything else, she is a calm presence and we have peace of mind the entire time we are away. There’s a reason we’re repeat customers :).

Tatum was wonderful with my pup. She was patient and caring for him. She even took him out on an adventure and sent me pictures for updates. He ate and slept 5 minutes back into where I am staying. Would definitely recommend! He is a large boy and handled him perfectly including teaching some training tips, extra bonus. My pup would also add that he loved her giving him treats! Excellent day for pup.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Coyote walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Coyote maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Coyote choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Coyote. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
