About: I’ve been taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I always had love for dogs in all sizes and their different personalities. Since having a dog on my own last year I’ve learned to practice training and grooming all by myself. I love to spend lots of time to make sure our furry friends stays healthy and happy with full attention and care. I am currently at home most of the time which I spend my day with my dog. I take walks daily morning, afternoon, and night. Feel free to ask for availability. I live in a condo. My dog Bagel is a friendly 4 year old girl that is friendly and full of energy. Treats, toys, extra leash, water bowl could be provided. (If needed) I have Pet First Aid/CPR certification for emergencies.

About: I am a lifelong resident of the area and have been a pet care provider for 4 years, both at home, for neighbors, and as an animal shelter volunteer. I'm familiar working with both puppies and senior dogs. I am most comfortable with small to mid-size dogs and can help with reinforcing training. I'm excited to be a friendly and caring presence in your dog's life and provide them with food, exercise, and company when you are out of the house! I'm looking for part-time work and my schedule is flexible, so I'm available on short notice. I'm available during working hours and nighttime any day of the week. I try to keep to a dog's usual routine when it comes to meals and being let outside. I also try to keep them stimulated as much as they are willing or able to be.

About: I've been the go-to catsitter among my family and friends since elementary school ! I've worked with indoor cats, outdoor cats, spicy cats, and kittens. I can adjust to your cat's every need ! Though I've mainly cared for cats, I also have experience with more exotic pets like fish, geckos, and tarantulas. I have a 30gal fish tank of my own ! I don't have another job at the moment, so I am available at any time. I will update days of unavailability as soon as possible. I'm very patient so if your pet isn't very trusting of new people, that's okay ! On the flipside, if your pet wants a friend then I can stick around !

About: My love for animals has been a defining part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started my pet-care journey at just 10 years old, looking after my neighbors' dogs and building a foundation of trust within my local community. Over the years, that childhood passion evolved into professional expertise. For the past four years, I have worked as a seasonal dog handler at my local animal inn. This professional background has equipped me to handle everything from standard pet sitting to complex canine behaviors and specialized medical needs. A core part of my training includes an extensive understanding of canine body language. I am highly skilled at reading subtle signs of stress, fear, or discomfort, allowing me to intervene before a dog becomes overly anxious or potentially aggressive. I use this knowledge every single day to ensure that walks and play sessions remain entirely safe and low-stress. I am incredibly comfortable walking dogs of all sizes and strengths. I have hands-on experience utilizing a variety of specialized walking gear safely and correctly, including martingale collars, gentle leaders, and various types of harnesses. Whether your dog is a puller or needs a specific setup for safety, I know how to manage them on a leash. I have worked with an incredibly diverse range of breeds, from tiny pugs to giant Irish wolfhounds. Through my professional training, I have successfully managed and de-escalated challenging behaviors, including: - Food aggression and resource guarding - Fence fighting and dog-to-dog aggression - People-selective behaviors and high-anxiety pets Beyond behavioral management, I am highly experienced in handling special medical accommodations. I have safely cared for dogs managing a variety of health issues, including blindness, severe arthritis, infectious illnesses, and pets requiring strict medication schedules. I am also completely unfazed by the less-glamorous parts of pet care. I am always prompt, thorough, and sanitary when it comes to cleaning up vomit, poop, or any unexpected accidents inside the house. Additionally, I have extensive experience doing in-home drop-ins and overnights through a professional service similar to Rover. I treat every client's home with the utmost respect. You can look forward to meticulous attention to detail: I always ensure the home is left exactly as I entered it, and I have a strict double-check protocol to ensure all doors and entryways are completely locked and secured before I leave. Whether your pet needs high-energy play, strict behavior management, gentle senior care, or just a safe and secure environment while you are away, I am dedicated to providing the highest standard of professional care! I'm currently working as a lab technician from Monday to Wednesday, so I'll be able to take care of your pet after 5:30 pm! From Thursday to Saturday, I work a part-time job, so my hours can vary! However, I can be flexible, and as long as I'm notified in advance, I can figure out accommodations to take care of your pet! My Sundays are always free to take care of your fur baby. I like to make sure the pet is as comfortable as they can be, and I'm good at following directions. If you are currently crate training or getting personal training for your animal, I will ensure that I'm following your directions to ensure that your pet's training is reinforced. I always ensure that your house is properly secured when entering and exiting the home.

About: I have been responsible for the care of cats and dogs inside and outside of my home since the age of two. I trained my family dog from eight weeks old, and have experience managing aggressive behavior. I am familiar with cats, having cared for them from kitten age to the end of their lives. When granted the responsibility to look after others pets, I show up with the utmost respect and care that I would want for my very own. I am a full time college student home for summer. I chose to spend this summer focusing on my summer coursework. With that completed, I have plenty of free time to care for your pets needs. I babysit as well. I am highly capable of whatever your needs may be; feeding, bathing, walking, keeping up with your training schedule. I have reliable transportation and am available to visit your pet(s) multiple times in a day in order to meet their physiological needs as well as engage with them in activity and play. I am also available to sit in-house.

We’re very particular in our requests and she goes above and beyond to make sure we’re able to travel knowing that they’re in the best care. 10/10 experience.

About: I am a professional ballerina transitioning out of her career into the next and looking for a fulfilling job in the meantime! I love animals of all kinds and have experience caring for all different types of dogs and cats, as well as a multitude of exotic animals! I am extremely precise and detail oriented and will always take the utmost care with your beloved pets. Many of my side jobs throughout my ballet career have been caretaking of some sort (nanny, gardener), and I would love to transfer those skills into pet-sitting! I’m currently transitioning careers and looking to start college in January, so I am very flexible. I left a high pressure nannying job in June and am happy to work with your schedule. I am very respectful in your space. I have been a nanny for 3 years and have traveled with the family, stayed at their house often, and am very considerate in your home. I will let the pet lead and wherever they seem most comfortable is where I will be, whether it is their favorite spot next to the couch, or the kitchen chair. I am mindful of any rules or preferences you have, and am focused solely on the animals comfort!

About: What sets me apart is my ability to be both caring and dependable in moments that require real attentiveness—something I’ve developed through years of working in community programs, internships, and leadership roles. Whether I was leading a team project, supporting a friend, or organizing events through my cycling club, I’ve always been someone who shows up fully and handles responsibility with care. I bring that same energy to pet care—tuning into each animal’s needs, whether it’s keeping up with an energetic puppy or being patient with a senior pet. I’m calm, communicative, and take pride in making both pets and their owners feel secure and understood. As a recent grad preparing for law school and transitioning into the workforce, my schedule is relatively flexible—especially during the weekdays. Pet care has been a grounding and fulfilling part of my routine. It gives me the chance to stay active, present, and connected in a meaningful way while balancing studying and professional goals. I genuinely enjoy the rhythm of it, and I treat every booking with the same level of care and responsibility I bring to my academic and work commitments. Whether I’m in my home or yours, I treat every pet like they’re my own. I love making sure everyone—pets and people—feels comfortable, safe, and at ease. That’s something I’ve really practiced through leading Catching Wind, the cycling and wellness club I started in college. Creating a space where people felt welcomed, supported, and looked after—whether they were riding for the first time or just needed community—taught me a lot about patience, attentiveness, and how to care for different needs. I bring that same approach to pet care. I listen closely, follow instructions, respect your space, and aim to create an environment where your pet feels loved, relaxed, and understood.

About: I am a previous owner of a beautiful Golden Retriever and a Cocker Spaniel. I am also currently a FUNcle to my sister's 100 pound German Shepherd who adores me and I him. I recently moved out of NYC and back to NJ and a lot of my friends parents have asked me to come by to let their pups out and take them on walks every so often when they're away. I would love to take care of your pet as well. I work from home so anything works for me. Your dog will have plenty of outdoor time while I am home so that they aren’t stuck inside all day I live close to a local baseball field that I have access to if I wanted to take them out for more space to play in.

About: I happened to work as Sales & Social Media Coordinater for a dog training school a few years back, and that experience changed my whole outlook on how we care for our pets! The dog trainers I created content for taught me about positive reinforcement and reward-based methods in the process. Since moving to a different field I’ve used those skills to handle, walk, and petsit every animal from bearded dragons to cats on the side in a way that’s fun for everyone involved. Animals are my happy place & I’d love to share that joy with your family! I work 9AM to 6:15PM most days, so I am the perfect candidate for your morning and evening walks as well as overnight stays! I can do afternoon Drop-Ins for Short Hills/Essex County residents as well. It’s also no problem for me to house-sit and care for your home as gently as your pets! I’m very flexible - please contact me to find a schedule that works for you! I do not offer boarding services in my own home at this time, but I will always make sure I leave my client’s home as I left it when I visit and care for their beloved one 🐾

About: I’ve spent the last 6 years caring for dogs and cats for families in my neighborhood, including puppies, high‑energy dogs, and seniors who need a gentler pace. I regularly do dog walking, drop‑in visits, and house sitting, and I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding, medications, walks, and playtime. I treat every animal like my own, send lots of photo updates, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and relaxed while their people are away. I’m a college student, so my availability is best during school breaks and holidays. When I’m home in New Jersey, I’m generally free on both weekdays and weekends, and I’m happy to work around your travel plans. I keep my calendar up to date and respond quickly so we can find times that fit your schedule. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to the routines you already have in place—feeding schedule, walk times, and house rules. I always double‑check doors, gates, and leashes, and I watch for any changes in behavior or appetite that might signal a problem. I’m respectful of your home, keep things tidy, and send clear updates and photos so you always know how your pets are doing.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs. Both were quite big and energetic. Even though I was young I would help feed, walk, and bathe the dogs. I have now gotten into taking care of cats as well. When family is out of town, I am who they call to help take care of their pets because of my reliability. I am in education so I am trustworthy enough to care of kids as well! I am currently working part time over the summer. I tutor Wednesdays and have availability most other days. I don’t have any strict schedule for the rest of the week and am very flexible. I can’t have pets at my personal home. But I will make sure your furry pets are going out as often as they need for necessity and fun!

About: My partner and I have taken care of dogs for many years. We both have had family dogs that we’ve taken care of for over 10 years, and we recently have been dog-sitting friends' dogs in the neighborhood. We are incredibly enthusiastic, loving, and kind towards all animals. A stay with us is fun for your pet and myself! We love going on walks, and live in a very dog-friendly building and area. We hope you'll have your furry friend come stay with us! Kayla works full-time from home. Nothing is more fun for her than taking time to play with dogs throughout the day. Its a stress reliever for her and fun for the both of us :) Vanessa is a teacher nearby and also has a great schedule for dog sitting! Attentiveness is the most important thing for us when with pets. In our home, we make sure that we can see the dog playing at all times. We put items away that are not dog-friendly and live in a one bedroom apartment, so we clear areas for them to play, but safely. On walks, the same applies. We are always attentive to the dog and how they feel, how they interact with other people and other dogs. Playing is fun, but we like to do it so that the dog and others are safe!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Summit choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Summit with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
