About: I had a Yorkshire Terrier who lived for almost 16 years. After he passed away, I found a small puppy on the street. I took care of him and eventually couldn’t give him away. Now Lucky—that’s his name—is 4 years old and weighs 70 lbs. I’m very comfortable with dogs and have a good understanding of their behavior and what they need. You could say I have over 20 years of experience with dogs, and if you count cats, even more. If your dog loves to run, I can take him to a park with unpaved trails (I can explain why I prefer unpaved trails) and ride alongside him on my bicycle. I have a protective dogs cover for the back seat of my car and a leash that can be attached to a bicycle. For a dog’s safety when running alongside a bicycle, a harness is much better than a collar. I can provide a size L harness. I just need to know about this type of walk ahead of time because I don’t carry my bicycle with me all the time. You can’t imagine how happy my Lucky is when he gets to run alongside me! I always ride at a speed that is comfortable for him. I also periodically donate money to people who rescue and care for orphaned and homeless dogs. I am between jobs. I left one company and seeking for a job. Meanwhile my good friend who is working in this platform advised me to take care of other peoples’ dogs. She said: “Why meanwhile don’t you help others with their dogs, when you understand them so well”. So I am here. First I sit at the floor next to the dog. When my eyes are almost at the same level as dogs eyes, they fill no aggression from the stranger. When dog gets used to me and my presence does not disturb, I start playing with him/her (cannot call them ‘it’). I fed orphan and homeless dogs before and have approach to them. Once I was saving for 5 hours (I am not kidding) a homeless dog who fell to water drainage and couldn’t come out.

Claire did a great job taking care of our cats and breaded dragon. I was away for two weeks, she looked after everyone very well, she always made sure to update me and send pictures. Both cat’s and bearded dragon tank are clean when I come back. She is very responsible. I would highly recommended.

About: Since 2023, I been blessed by caring for 167 doggies of all sizes, and breeds. Wonderful dog loving parents, emergent, seniors, 100 lb puppy. Cast of characters . No contagious events 🙏 never would my ego overthink your instructions as it pertains to your loved one. You give discipline day-to-day, and know I’m here 24/7. It’s been such a lift in my spirit since 2023. No dog whisper, just grew up as most, w my pet. When I see, and owners agree, meeting doggies they have been with, it a dog friendship craving as mush as humans. It’s an honest business bc your dog, upon return will let you know how it went, lol. Currently, 56 year old male, retired. I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. I have 2 loving dogs- Abbey & Blu (pomeranian/ Pomsky) around the 2 years old range. Well trained play safe doggies. I am home, and available all day for your loved one. No crates, alone time, or unsupervised is my guaranteed when booking. Honestly, I have always preferred the company of dogs over humans 🙂. And in my retirement years, i have dedicated my time to caring, and protecting all/ any kind of canine. What is included w bookingmy dog day care from others is 1) private dog friendly community. Safe, isolated, and private dog park area. Gated, pet safe, and walking distance from my residence. In these times, keeping your doggie away from public parks may be your preference 2) I can offer social, safe, healthy play time environment, or complete isolation, based your doggie needs. Would love to meet you and your loved one soon. Respectfully- Robert from Springfield, NJ. Currently -retired mental health practitioner. Therapist over 25 years. I am available weekdays & weekends all morning-night if needed. Your dog will never be left alone. Ive been on Rover since 3/2023 . Also, live in pet friendly community w private fenced dog 🐕 park. I offer many services for small- medium-large size dogs of all breeds. It depends on the doggie. The pet owner is also a customer. The customer is always right. I will depend on their wishes on everything from diet, exercise, walks, off-leash (fenced areas), and socialability. I have ability to private play (i call them red collar doggies) your loved one if it is in pet/pet owners best interest. Strength of my work is my dog friendly community, my own 2 little guys (combined 21 lbs) and developing/ improving on your doggie social world through play skills, w age not always being determining factor.

Paula was responsive and responsible during the booking and meeting process. I have a 12 week old poodle. He has lots of unbridled puppy energy. he is really just learning how to walk on a leash.. Paula was very patient getting the leash and harness on him as well as walking him. I do appreciate that. I would recommend Paula and I would use her for future walks once my dog matures thank you.👍🏽🙌🏽🙏

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have always had a dog of my own. I genuinely love animals and understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, bathing, giving plenty of attention, and keeping pets safe and comfortable. I treat every dog like family and take pride in being patient, dependable, and attentive to their individual needs. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily routine because I have a dog of my own. I’m used to making time for walks, feeding, playtime, and giving my dog plenty of attention and care. I’m active and enjoy spending time outdoors, so adding walks and pet visits into my routine is something I genuinely enjoy rather than see as a chore. I care for pets with the same patience, attention, and respect I give my own dog. In a client’s home, I follow their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, bathroom breaks, and any special instructions they provide. I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away, and I always leave their home clean and secure.

About: I’ve been trusted to care for dogs through family, friends, and neighbors over the years. From daily walks to overnight stays, I’ve gained experience making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’ve cared for dogs of different personalities and energy levels — whether it’s giving them plenty of exercise or just keeping them company at home. I treat every dog as if they were my own, and I pride myself on being reliable, patient, and attentive to their needs. I work from home full-time, which gives me a very flexible schedule. On the days I’m available, I have the freedom to provide walks, playtime, and enrichment throughout the day. Whether your pup needs a quick potty break, extra exercise, or just some company, I can adjust to their routine and make sure they’re well cared for. I live in a first-floor condo that’s fully dog-proofed, so pets can relax and explore safely without worry of injury. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and will always have a cozy space to feel at home. Since I work from home, I can keep a close eye on them throughout the day, making sure they’re safe, comfortable, and getting the attention they deserve. Whether at my place or yours, I treat every pet like family and make their well-being my top priority. I don’t have any pets in the apartment so there will be no conflicts with another animal.

About: I’ve had two dogs! My first dog was a Maltese named Rocky. He passed away in 2017 from lymphoma. 💔 Right now, I have a 9-year-old terrier mix named Lila! She’s full of energy and loves running around the yard, going for walks, and playing fetch with her toys. I’ve been helping take care of my family’s & friends dogs since I was a little girl, and I’ve always loved dogs of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities. 🥰 I’m currently in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program at FDU. I started in May, and the program is 15 months long, so I’ll be graduating in September 2027. My classes are a mix of online and in-person, but I’m generally available all day on Monday, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to house sit and available Tuesdays and Thursdays for drop-ins and walks! Whether your dog needs a walk, a trip to the park, someone to play with, or just a buddy to relax with on the couch, I’m happy to help! I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, love, and care while you’re away. Just let me know what you need, and I’d be happy to make it happen. 😊

About: I've owned a dog since I was young, giving me first-hand experience with daily care and understanding canine behavior. This has led my friends to entrust me with their dogs while they're away. I am currently a full-time student and work part-time at Union County College (UCNJ) in Cranford. I am completely unavailable on Tuesdays and Fridays. On other days, I prefer to schedule appointments after 2:00 PM on weekdays and after 7:00 AM on weekends. Before the appointment day, I will send a one-time PDF sign-up sheet through your preferred method of contact, so I know exactly what you’re looking for in my dog-care services. This sheet will also serve as a reference for future visits.

Emily is amazing! She met my dog the day before his walk/feeding to help get acquainted with him and I showed her where all of his things are. Which I really appreciated. She texted me updates and confirmed details about the visit. She was so sweet and empathetic towards Mylo. I am thankful for her availability since my schedule is so busy. Overall 10/10. We are thankful to have her as our new dog walker :)

About: Hey! I’m Connor. I'm a Firefighter/EMT with pet CPR and First Aid certification. I live in my own home in a quiet suburban neighborhood with a large, securely fenced backyard. Both the house and yard were recently redone, so everything is safe, clean, and ready for your pet. During meals, all dogs are separated, and the home is kept neat, hazard-free, and even safe for those expert counter surfers! The space can also be easily divided if dogs need a little personal time. If you're looking for someone responsible and experienced who can handle whatever situations pets throw your way - you've found the right person. The two priorities for your dog's stay will be safety and plenty of photo and video updates so you always know they're doing great! I live with my yellow Lab, Kygo. He's super friendly, loves to play with all our visitors, and knows when to give space if another dog needs it. My cousin Patrick also lives here, so there's always someone home to keep an eye on your pup. I've raised many well-trained dogs over the years, mostly Labs, using positive reinforcement and lots of patience instead of harsh discipline. I have been watching dogs for many years now and I'm also well aware of the curveballs watching dogs can throw at you. As a firefighter I'm always over the top careful about things and it's no different when it comes to my dogs. So if any medical issues or situations pop up I'll be sure to have vet and medical info from you in advance so we can make sure your dog is taken care of. I am very familiar with the 24/7 vets in the area and their different specialties should something require immediate attention. I'll do my best to keep your dog's routine as close to home as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special instructions. There are plenty of supervised group play sessions in the backyard, balanced with time to relax indoors. I'll make sure you're always kept up to date by sending plenty of pictures and updates, and I always respond promptly to texts and calls. I know it's nervewracking leaving your pet with a new person, so feel free to stop by the house to meet Kygo and me and see the yard. Looking forward to working with you and meeting your pet! I am often available for last minute bookings as well as weekends and holidays. So if the need arises so feel free to put in any last minute or holiday requests. Pets are always fed, given water, and walked and any special instructions provided by owner are taken care of. Directions always clarified to make sure we're on same page. Have worked with plenty of dogs with allergies and preventive measures taken with dogs that require extra attention!

About: My name is Christine and I've been working in pet care- dog walking, pet/house sitting and even dog grooming for 5+ years. I worked as a dog washer at In and Out Grooming in Garwood and am an avid dog walker. I've been a dog owner, and find pet care to be the most fulfilling job I've ever had. I love all breeds, and though I am small in stature I love walking big dogs! I can provide nail clippings and also don't mind doing some general house cleaning if I were to do house sitting and home visits. I have a very flexible schedule, outside of pet care I am pursuing a career in theater. Extremely flexible schedule! I have free daytime hours, while working on a theater schedule. Great for daytime walks and drop ins. Weekends available, don't hesitate to request! I have house sitting experience to keep your pets company while you're away! I've worked with many breeds and personalities of pet in the place they are most comfortable, happy to just spend time with them and adapt to their routines. I also don't mind doing some general house cleaning if I were to do house sitting and home visits.

About: I've been the go-to catsitter among my family and friends since elementary school ! I've worked with indoor cats, outdoor cats, spicy cats, and kittens. I can adjust to your cat's every need ! Though I've mainly cared for cats, I also have experience with more exotic pets like fish, geckos, and tarantulas. I have a 30gal fish tank of my own ! I don't have another job at the moment, so I am available at any time. I will update days of unavailability as soon as possible. This is the second time Emily has petsit for my 2 cats. As always she was amazing. My first experience was back in February when I had to go on an extended work trip for 10 days. Emily was amazing and my 2 cats warmed right up to her. She took such great care of them. She went above and beyond even making it to take care of them during the blizzard. I cannot recommend Emily enough. She will love your pets like they are her own making sure their needs are met while giving lots of play time and cuddles. She even got my extremely timid cat to take her medicine twice a day- an amazing feat!! Her updates and communication were thorough and put me at ease while I was away. I highly recommend her to everyone in the area and will be booking her for my future pet sitting needs.

Kerry Ann helped us out with drop in visits while we were away for our senior dog. Kerry Ann was prompt, arriving when we agreed upon, staying the full drop in time length and keeping us informed with detailed Rover cards. My dog is a bit shy and slower at his age. Kerry Ann took her time with him and made him feel comfortable and also followed all instructions we left. I would highly recommend her. She seems to really love dogs in general which is a plus when you are leaving your beloved pet in their care.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Springfield stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Springfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Springfield with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Springfield. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
