“Bobbie S is an amazing dog sitter. She took such good care of our dogs and followed our instructions to the letter. Our dogs were in such a relaxed and happy mood when we returned just as if we had been there ourselves. 6/5 stars.”

“Maureen is an exceptional pet sitter. She took care of our fur babies when we were on a 15 day cruise. She sent pictures, short videos and updates every day! She's very conscientious about our pets physical and emotional well-being. We never worry about our pets when she's taking care of them.”

“Courtney took amazing care of my fur babies, managed the house during the chaos of construction in my back yard and provided regular updates to put my mind at ease. Recommend a ns would use again!”

“Jennifer is kind, responsive, and very attentive to animals. My dog loved her the moment she walked into the house. It is obvious that she loves animals! She also is timely, responsible, and took great care of my home.”
“Alex was awesome! Being gone for a few days from my babies was so hard for us but She would update me on how our babies were doing by sending photos. All around I would definitely recommend her and will use her again in the future!”

“Maria was fantastic. We were worried about leaving our two young dogs with someone new but she treated them like they were her own. She also sent updates and pictures as requested and I could tell that they loved her. We are so glad that we found her!”

About: Hello ! I have had dogs my whole life, small, medium and large dogs of all different kinds of breeds. The different dogs in my photos are dogs I’ve walked, boarded and pet sat for. I have boarded many different dogs before but I'm really eager to board for other families and their dogs on Rover. I worked at a veterinary clinic in San Diego so I have some knowledge on dogs, medical conditions (allergies, behaviors, etc.) and how to treat them. I'm a very easy going person and dogs are definitely a passion of mine. I will honor every request or concern for any type of service. Your dog and I will enjoy all the time spent if it's in your home or mine or simply on a walk. Whatever service you need I'm here for you and your dog ! Thank you so much ! :) I work from home full time so I’m able to have flexibility with my pet scheduling. Being home full time helps me be with your pet at every moment and monitor them with care. I have a fenced yard and one senior dog. He is very tiny and doesn’t give much attention to other animals (pretends they’re not there lol) he also has no teeth :)

“Erica was great! She took the time to meet with my dog twice before watching him. Even with that my dog had some fear about her being at the house without me. Erika worked through it with my pup and they ended up good friends for my entire trip. Lots of pictures and updates, plenty of walks and the house was perfect when I got home. Will definetly continue to hire and recomend Erika!”

About: Hi, I’m Tami! I have 10+ years of experience caring for pets, which I truly enjoy. I’m dedicated to providing animals with the best care, giving them love, attention, and ensuring they feel comfortable and happy. Joining Rover has been a wonderful opportunity to connect with more furry friends, and I’d love the chance to care for your pet as if they were my own! ❤️ I have a very flexible schedule. I also work with Amazon delivery, so Rover is a lovely job I do as a side. Text me and we arrange the best time and dates for you. At the moment, I don’t care for pets in my own home. However, when staying at someone else’s place, I always ask if there’s anything important I need to know or any special instructions to keep in mind. I make sure to stay within the areas the owner allows and ask where the pet’s food, treats, and supplies are, as well as the feeding schedule. I also bring my own food, depending on how long I’ll be there.
“Yesenia is fantastic! She cared for our kitties like they're her own. One, in particular, was going through some health challenges, and Yesenia took extra care to tend to her medication and special diet. She also played with them and kept us updated throughout, including lots of pictures.”

“Anna was a great help to all of us when she cared for our pups… CC & Gus. She was good with both dogs, kept them happy and safe plus well fed. She seemed to enjoy her time with them and sent pictures. She stayed with them while we were gone a couple of days which made it possible for us to enjoy our time since we knew the dogs were well taken care of. Thanks Anna!”

“Emily has turned into a first choice for our fur baby. She makes him feel like a rockstar with walks and cuddles and play time and his own photo shoot. Emily is the main reason I believe in Rover!”

“Tally was great with my chocolate lab who has separation anxiety. She was attentive and gave him lots of love and hugs. My house was immaculate when I came home after a 4 day trip. Highly recommend Tally!”

“Janet house sat and watched our crazy 5.5 month old puppy and our 13 year old dog while we were on vacation. She stayed at our house and every day she sent us updates and pics of our girls. Our older dog takes quite a few meds and Janet was diligent with all of them. Our neighbors reported seeing lots of walks and attention. The girls were looking happy and well when we got home. Our home was clean as well. We would definitely book Janet to stay with the girls again!”
“Will was amazing with Willow and Wick. He was timely, communicative, and reliable. He was so great even our shy cat came out to hang out with him. He even took our puppy for her first run! He sent us pictures and videos of them everyday and if we had questions throughout our trip he responded promptly to them. We will definitely be booking Will for any future things we may need with our fur babies!”

About: I’ve actually had all kinds of pets my whole life, dogs, cats, fish, bunnies, hamsters, turtles so I can confidently say I’m attentive to each one’s personality, habits, needs. I’ve welcomed many stray dogs and cats into my home to care for them and feed them and rehome them. I’ve potty/litter trained countless times and I can train them for meal times, to sit or give paw(dogs), to not scratch the couch(cats). In the last 4 years in particular, family members have asked me to pop by and check on and feed their babies. One household has two very loving and hyper dogs ages 2 & 3 yrs old that have a specific diet and meal times. They are potty trained outside so I walk them 2-3x a day depending on the hours I watch them. Second household has one 14 yr old dog and a 2 yr old cat, also with their own diets and meal times. The dog uses pee pads as she’s older and potty trained outside as well. Third household has 7 cats that range from 1 yr old to 7 yrs old. They’re all more free spirited and independent as they look after each other, they all eat at the same time and have indoor and outdoor privileges. I currently have full and open availability. I’d love to gain more experience looking after pets. My cat is very independent and clean, as long as I feed him in the morning and evening and keep his litter box clean, he’s a very good boy. It gives me the confidence to be able to help someone else with their fur babies either for work or trips. I can do from simply check-ins or stay in nights at a time with them. Im super flexible. As of right now, unfortunately I don’t have the proper space to bring others pets in ): but I am more than dependable and respectful to care for furbabies in their own home. Anything from simple and winging it to a list of instructions, your furbaby won’t see me as an intruder, but as their company.
“Stephanie did a great job house sitting for us on short notice. The dogs, the cat, and the house were all well taken care of. We got updates and photos daily and felt comfortable right from our meet and greet. We'd definitely book again!”

“Trent and his wife were absolutely fantastic with my two boys Astro & Adonis! Astro is my senior and Adonis is still a puppy but super big and super reactive with other people and animals. Trent and his wife made sure to introduce themselves very gently and were so amazing! Both Astro and Adonis absolutely loved them and all their care. I always worry for my boys but I was so relieved leaving them both under Trent's supervision. I highly recommend Trent for anybody who has large dogs like mine. He was so responsive and friendly + extremely accommodating. Thank you both!!!”

Stephanie did a great job taking care of our dog Rugby. She sent photos and updates everyday which gave me peace of mind. Our dog has some medical needs that required special attention and care including medication. She was able to work through his anxiety and take great care of him. She also stepped in very last minute after someone backed out on us and she was a lifesaver! She also took great care of the house which I appreciated!

After years of searching for a trustworthy, personable, and knowledgeable in-home pet sitter, we are so grateful to have found Anna. Anna is dependable, caring, and has all the skills needed to confidently care for multiple dogs. From the moment she met our pups, she formed an immediate connection with each of them, despite their very different personalities, preferences, and obedience levels. It's clear that she genuinely loves animals, and they love her right back. We truly can't say enough wonderful things about Anna—although we'd rather not praise her too much because we'd love to keep her all to ourselves! Thank you, Anna, for giving us the peace of mind to travel without a single moment of worry, knowing that our pups and our home are receiving the very best care!
I’m always so grateful to have Sarah look after my sweet old pup when I’m away! And this time Sarah also cared for my friend’s dog who was visiting. Sarah always makes the time to ensure that she’s up to date on any changes and she even came by for an extra meet and greet to meet my friend’s dog before her stay. I love getting all of her updates, and knowing that the pups are loved so fully while I am away makes it easier for me to be present and enjoy my time out of town.

Jaelyn was absolutely amazing. We’ve been the ringer with dog sitters and Jaelyn came in and was like a dream. She was so responsible with our home and with our pup. She sent a lot of photos and updates that kept us in the loop and was able to take our big dog that pulls a lot on daily walks. We have found our regular dog sitter in Jaelyn and you should as well.

Alexis was amazing! I've always done check-ins and never used house-sitting, and Alexis was so helpful and responsive during the booking process, along with the meet-and-greet and planning process. She also communicated frequently during my trip, and as a bonus, she made a gorgeous drawing of my sweet pup, and left it as a surprise. My next house/pet sitter WILL be her!

Katherine provides outstanding care for our dog, Bailey, who gets so excited the moment she walks through the door. Beyond her excellent pet care, is a fantastic communicator. We receive updates, notes, and photos daily, which makes being away so much easier. Most importantly, I have complete peace of mind knowing she is in our home; she is incredibly reliable, professional, and treats our home with the utmost respect. She is easily the best dog sitter we have ever worked with, and we feel so lucky to have found her! 🐶

Gretchen was fantastic with my dog, Marshall. It was immediately clear that she has a genuine love for animals and truly enjoys spending time with them. Marshall took to her quickly, and I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. She took him on nice long walks, gave him plenty of attention, and did a wonderful job keeping him happy and comfortable while I was away. I really appreciated how attentive she was to his routine and needs. Gretchen was also incredibly respectful of my home and left everything spotless. It’s not always easy to find someone who is both an excellent pet sitter and such a considerate house guest, but she was both. I would absolutely trust Gretchen with Marshall again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and responsible pet sitter.

I am so thankful for Christine's care. She is very kind, communicative, and reliable. When I needed someone last minute, she was ready to go and super helpful. Christine made my dog feel reassured and loved while I've been away. Thank you so much for all your care💖

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spring Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spring Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spring Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Spring Valley. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
